Description

Safety locking system
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the general field of locking systems, and more particularly, to a locking system that is impossible to unlock if a lock of the locking system is broken.
Background
Secure repositories and similar spaces for storing items such as weapons, explosives, and valuable materials require doors that are resistant to illicit access. One way to reinforce a door is to include concrete and/or various metals in the door material. However, this does not prevent illegal access by opening the door by breaking or damaging the locking system of the door. In some cases, the locking system is broken with a key or key-like object, while in other cases, the locking system is broken by drilling or other means of attacking the locking system.
Therefore, there is a need for a locking system that does not unlock when the locking system is broken.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide a locking system which is impossible to unlock if one or several locks of the locking system are broken.
A preferred embodiment of the present invention is directed to a locking system comprising: a housing; an operating lock mounted within the housing; a main latch (main latch) of the locking system, which is displaceable between a fully displaced locking position and a fully retracted unlocking position; a primary latch operating mechanism operable from an outside of the housing and configured to displace the primary latch between a fully displaced latching position and a fully retracted unlatching position, the latch operating mechanism configured to be lockable by the operating lock; and at least one safety locking device, wherein the safety locking device is arranged at the operating lock and is configured to release a safety latch system arranged to lock the latch operating mechanism when the lock is broken.
Drawings
The invention is explained in detail below with reference to the drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a partially exploded view of a first embodiment of a locking system;
FIG. 2a is a schematic view of a second embodiment of a locking system;
FIG. 2b is a schematic view of section A-A of the locking system of FIG. 2a and an enlarged view of a section of the locking system;
FIG. 3a is a schematic view of the latching system of FIGS. 2a-2 b;
figure 3B is a schematic view of section B-B of the locking system in figure 3a and an enlarged view of a section of the locking system.
Detailed Description
Referring to fig. 1-3 of the drawings, two specific exemplary embodiments of a locking system (i.e., a locking system that cannot be unlocked if a lock of the locking system is broken) according to the concepts of the present invention are illustrated. The exemplary locking system of fig. 1 and 2 shows different configurations of the locking system.
Embodiments of the present invention relate to a locking system comprising:
a. a housing (40);
b. an operating lock (33) mounted within the housing;
c. a primary latch (23) of the locking system displaceable between a fully displaced locking position and a fully retracted unlocking position;
d. a primary latch operating mechanism operable from an outside of the housing and configured to displace the primary latch (23) between a fully displaced latching position and a fully retracted unlatching position, the latch operating mechanism configured to be latchable by the operating lock (33);
e. at least one safety locking device;
wherein the safety locking device is arranged at the operating lock (33) and is configured to release a safety latch system arranged to lock the latch operating mechanism when the lock (33) is broken.
In the embodiment illustrated in fig. 1-3, the primary latch operating mechanism includes a link (3), the link (3) being rotatable about an axis of rotation and operatively connected to the primary latch (23) to convert rotational movement of the link (3) into linear movement of the primary latch (23). Furthermore, the coupling (3) is operatively connected to the main latch (23) with a main latch arm (17a), and the main latch arm (17a) is arranged perpendicularly with respect to the rotation axis. Furthermore, the main latch arm (17a) is supported at its respective end at a pivot joint arranged on the link (3) and on the main latch (23). The coupling (3) is operated from the outside of the housing by a turning device (45), which turning device (45) can be turned by an operator. Furthermore, the locking system is configured to comprise one or more keyholes (39) aligned with the one or more operation locks, and wherein said keyholes are preferably arranged outside the housing.
Reference is now made to the embodiment illustrated in fig. 1-3, wherein the locking latch (20, 46) is connected to the coupling (3) by a locking latch arm (17 b). A locking bolt arm (17b) is operatively connected to the locking bolt (20, 46) to convert rotational movement of the link (3) into linear movement of the locking bolt (20, 46). The locking bolt (20, 45) is arranged perpendicularly with respect to the rotational axis of the coupling (3), and the operating lock (33) is configured to be able to lock the movability of the locking bolt (20, 46) and thereby of the coupling (3) and the main latch (23) by means of the operating latch (48). The preferred embodiment of the invention shown in fig. 1-3 includes two operating locks (33) and two pairs of locking latches (20, 46) and two locking latch arms (17b), the two locking latch arms (17b) engaging a corresponding pair of locking latches (20, 46), both of which are constructed as described above. Also, embodiments are configured with one or more, e.g., four, operational locks with safety lockout devices.
The safety locking device comprises a spring biased safety latch system (9), a safety latch release (31), and a connecting member (41), for example in the form of a wire, the connecting member (41) connecting the safety latch system (9) to the safety latch release (31). The safety lock release (31) is constructed from a brittle material, such as glass, preferably a glass sheet. When the operating lock (33) is broken, the safety lock release (31) breaks and the safety latch system (9) is thus released. The safety latch system (9), which in the present exemplary embodiment is designed in a symmetrical centering of the spring-biased safety locking latch (7), is designed to be able to lock the displaceability of the locking bolts (20, 46) and comprises at least one spring, preferably two parallel springs. Thus, when the operating lock (33) is broken, the safety lock release (31) breaks, the spring is thus released and forces the safety locking bolt into the recess in the corresponding locking bolt (20, 46), thereby locking the movability of said locking bolt (20, 46). The coupling (3) and thereby the main bolt (23) are thus immobilized and permanently locked, i.e. it is thereafter not possible to unlock the locking system with the operating key. Alternatively, the door including the locking system must be removed and/or destroyed to access the space protected by the door. The embodiment of the invention shown in fig. 1-3 includes two pairs of locking latches (20, 46) each provided with an associated safety lockout device configured as described above.
The preferred embodiment in fig. 1-3 comprises a locking system configured to comprise two keyholes (39) aligned with two operating locks (33) and two lock releases (31), and wherein said keyholes are arranged outside the housing. Furthermore, the link (41) in the preferred embodiment is preferably configured to contact one or more rods (4), the rods (4) having a pulley function, which helps to construct space efficient components within the housing, provide free access to the link when the lock release is broken due to breakage, and distribute the biasing spring force in the link to achieve a stronger spring force retained by the safety lock release (31).
The spring biased safety latch system (9) illustrated in the exemplary shown embodiment in fig. 1-3 comprises two parallel springs (44), which two parallel springs (44) are attached to two parallel bars, wherein the bars are connected to two safety locking latches (7). The spring biased safety latch system further comprises two additional levers, a first lever connected to one end of the link (41) and a second lever (12) contactable with the link.
The housing comprises two preferably symmetrical side plates (40), the side plates (40) being provided with recesses providing guidance for moving parts in the housing, shoulders for fixing parts in the housing and screws for assembling the housing.
Although fig. 1-3 refer to a locking system with two operating locks (33), this is only intended to be exemplary. The locking system according to the invention may also comprise one to four operating locks (33) and wherein a safety locking device is arranged at each of the operating locks (33).
The locking system according to the invention can be manufactured in various sizes. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that various sizes are possible without compromising the utility of the locking system.
The locking system according to the invention is used in any type of door.
In particular, locking systems are used in doors for impeding illegal access, such as illegal access to rooms and spaces where explosives, weapons, and valuables are stored. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that there are a variety of doors that may employ the locking system according to the present invention, as well as other types of arrangements for maintaining a material lock.
While the locking system in accordance with the present invention has been described with reference to the above specific examples in fig. 1-3, this is intended to be illustrative only and not to limit the present disclosure, it being noted that changes, additions and/or deletions may be made to the disclosed examples without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure. The scope of the present disclosure is therefore not to be embraced by any particular example, but rather by the claims below.
