Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of network communication technologies, and in particular, to an index method and apparatus for an ARP entry.
Background
Every time the switch receives the IP address to be resolved, an ARP table entry needs to be created for the IP address to be resolved. When a large number of ARP table entries which are not successfully analyzed occupy ARP table entry resources, so that the ARP table entries recorded in the ARP list reach the maximum value, the analysis result corresponding to the IP address to be analyzed which is successfully analyzed subsequently cannot be recorded in the ARP list, and the switch continues to forward the IP address to be analyzed, so that the forwarding efficiency of the switch is seriously reduced.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of this, the present invention provides an index method and apparatus for ARP entry, which efficiently utilize the ARP entry resource by multiplexing the ARP entry to solve the problem of low forwarding efficiency of the switch.
In order to achieve the purpose, the invention provides the following technical scheme:
according to a first aspect of the present invention, a method for indexing an ARP entry is provided, where the method includes:
when the received IP address to be analyzed is determined to be not successfully analyzed, determining a state identifier corresponding to the IP address to be analyzed;
determining a second index value for the IP address to be analyzed from at least one preset first index value based on the state identification, wherein the second index value is consistent with a third index value preset in an ARP list;
determining a preset processing action based on the second index value and the ARP list, wherein the preset processing action corresponding to the third index value is recorded in the ARP list;
and processing the IP address to be resolved based on the preset processing action.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, an apparatus for indexing an ARP entry is provided, including:
the first determining module is configured to determine a state identifier corresponding to the IP address to be resolved when the received IP address to be resolved is determined not to be resolved successfully;
a second determining module configured to determine, based on the status identifier, a second index value for the to-be-resolved IP address from at least one preset first index value, where the second index value is consistent with a third index value preset in the ARP list;
a third determining module, configured to determine a preset processing action based on the second index value and the ARP list, where the ARP list records the preset processing action corresponding to the third index value;
and the IP address processing module is configured to process the IP address to be resolved based on the preset processing action.
According to the technical scheme, aiming at the IP address to be analyzed which is not successfully analyzed, the switch establishes an index relationship between the IP address to be analyzed and the ARP list through the second index value, and due to the fact that the number of the ARP list items corresponding to the preset processing action is small, the number of newly-built ARP list items is greatly reduced for the IP address to be analyzed with the same processing appeal by multiplexing the ARP list items corresponding to the preset processing action, efficient utilization of ARP list item resources is achieved, and forwarding efficiency of the switch is greatly improved.

Fig. 1 is a flowchart of an embodiment of an ARP entry indexing method provided by the present invention, where the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) entry indexing method can be applied to a switch, and as shown in fig. 1, the ARP entry indexing method includes the following steps 101 and 104:
step 101: and when the received IP address to be analyzed is determined not to be successfully analyzed, determining the state identifier corresponding to the IP address to be analyzed.
Step 102: and determining a second index value for the IP address to be analyzed from at least one preset first index value based on the state identifier, wherein the second index value is consistent with a third index value preset in the ARP list.
Step 103: and determining a preset processing action based on the second index value and the ARP list, wherein the ARP list records the preset processing action corresponding to the third index value.
Step 104: and processing the IP address to be analyzed based on the preset processing action.
In step 101, in an embodiment, the IP address to be resolved is an IP address when the switch does not obtain a resolution result. The state identifier corresponding to the to-be-analyzed IP address is carried by the packet corresponding to the to-be-analyzed IP address and is used to mark the current state corresponding to the to-be-analyzed IP address, for example, the state identifier "1" is used to mark that the to-be-analyzed IP address needs to be uploaded to a CPU to continue broadcasting to a neighboring device, and the state identifier "2" is used to mark that the to-be-analyzed IP address needs to be discarded.
In step 102, in an embodiment, a preset first index value is used to establish an index relationship between the IP address to be resolved and the ARP list, and in combination with step 101, for example, the first index value may be "0001", "0011", or the like. The different first index values correspond to different state identifications, for example, a state identification "1" corresponds to a first index value "0001"; the state flag "2" corresponds to the first index value "0011". For example, the switch determines a second index value "0011" for the IP address to be resolved from preset first index values "0001" and "0011" based on the state identifier "2". The second index value is consistent with a third index value preset in the ARP list. And the third index value preset in the ARP list is used for corresponding to a preset processing action, and the processing action comprises uploading to a CPU, discarding the message and the like. As shown in table 1, is an example of the structure of the ARP list:
TABLE 1
Third index value | Presetting a processing action |
0001 | Upload CPU |
0011 | Discarding messages |
In table 1, the preset processing action corresponding to the third index value "0001" is taken as "send-up CPU"; and the preset processing action corresponding to the third index value '0011' is used as a 'discard message'.
In step 103, in an embodiment, the switch determines a predetermined processing action based on the second index value and an ARP list, and the ARP list records the predetermined processing action corresponding to the third index value. In combination with steps 101 to 102, for example, the to-be-analyzed IP address 168.168.12.18 corresponds to the state identifier "2", the switch determines that the to-be-analyzed IP address 168.168.12.18 corresponds to the second index value "0011" based on the state identifier "2", and the switch determines, based on the second index value "0011" and the ARP list shown in table 1, a preset processing action "discard packet" corresponding to the third index value "0011" preset in the ARP list.
In step 104, in an embodiment, in combination with step 103, the switch discards the packet corresponding to the to-be-analyzed IP address 168.168.12.18 based on a preset processing action "discard packet".
Optionally, before performing step 101, the switch records a correspondence between a preset third index value and a preset processing action in the ARP list. As will be understood by those skilled in the art, generally, before the IP address to be resolved has not been successfully resolved, the following steps may be included: and the IP address to be analyzed is discarded in two processing modes of uploading to the CPU to continuously broadcast to the neighbor equipment. The corresponding relation between the third index value and the preset processing action is recorded in an ARP list in advance through the switch, when the switch receives the IP address to be analyzed, the IP address to be analyzed is associated with the preset processing action, for the existing preset processing action, the IP address to be analyzed does not establish ARP table entries again, and therefore the number of newly-established ARP table entries can be greatly reduced.
In the embodiment of the invention, aiming at the IP address to be resolved which is not successfully resolved, the switch establishes an index relationship between the IP address to be resolved and the ARP list through the second index value. Because the number of the ARP table entries corresponding to the preset processing action is small, the number of newly-built ARP table entries is greatly reduced for the IP addresses to be analyzed with the same processing appeal by multiplexing the ARP table entries corresponding to the preset processing action, the efficient utilization of ARP table entry resources is realized, and the forwarding efficiency of the switch is improved.
Fig. 2 is a flowchart of another ARP entry indexing method according to another embodiment of the present invention, which is described in conjunction with fig. 1 and fig. 1 to illustrate how to record a second index value corresponding to an IP address to be resolved in a host list, as shown in fig. 2, including the following steps:
step 201: determining whether an IP address to be resolved exists in a host list, where the host list is used to record the IP address and an index value corresponding to the IP address, executing step 202 when the switch determines that the IP address to be resolved does not exist in the host list, and executing step 203 when the switch determines that the IP address to be resolved exists in the host list.
Step 202: and recording the corresponding relation between the IP address to be analyzed and the second index value in a host list.
Step 203: and updating the fourth index value corresponding to the IP address to be analyzed into the second index value.
In step 201, the host list is used to record the to-be-resolved IP address that has been received by the switch, and at the same time, the host list is also used to record a second index value corresponding to the to-be-resolved IP address. The switch determines whether the IP address to be resolved identical to the IP address to be resolved exists in the host list or not by traversing all the IP addresses to be resolved recorded in the host list. When the switch determines that the IP address to be resolved does not exist in the host list, step 202 is executed, and when the switch determines that the IP address to be resolved exists in the host list, step 203 is executed.
In step 202, when the switch determines that the IP address to be resolved does not exist in the host list, the switch records the correspondence between the IP address to be resolved and the second index value in the host list. As shown in table 2, which is a structural example of the host list:
TABLE 2
IP address to be resolved | Second index value |
168.168.14.15 | 0001 |
168.168.17.11 | 0011 |
168.168.13.16 | 0001 |
- | - |
In table 2, the to-be-resolved IP addresses 168.168.14.15, 168.168.17.11, 168.168.13.16 correspond to second index values 0001, 0011, 0001, respectively. Taking the to-be-resolved IP address as 168.168.12.18 and the second index value corresponding to the to-be-resolved IP address 168.168.12.18 as 0011, the switch records the correspondence between the to-be-resolved IP address 168.168.12.18 and the second index value 0011 in the host list shown in table 2, as shown in table 3, the switch records the correspondence between the to-be-resolved IP address 168.168.12.18 and the second index value 0011 in the host list:
TABLE 3
IP address to be resolved | Second index value |
168.168.14.15 | 0001 |
168.168.17.11 | 0011 |
168.168.13.16 | 0001 |
168.168.12.18 | 0011 |
In table 3, the switch records the correspondence between the to-be-resolved IP address 168.168.12.18 and the second index value 0011 in the fifth row.
In step 203, when the switch determines that the IP address to be resolved exists in the host list, the switch updates a fourth index value corresponding to the IP address to be resolved to the second index value. As shown in table 4, which is a structural example of the host list:
TABLE 4
IP address to be resolved | Second index value |
168.168.14.15 | 0001 |
168.168.12.18 | 0011 |
168.168.13.16 | 0001 |
In table 4, the to-be-resolved IP addresses 168.168.14.15, 168.168.12.18, 168.168.13.16 correspond to second index values 0001, 0011, 0001, respectively. Taking the to-be-resolved IP address as 168.168.14.15 and the second index value corresponding to the to-be-resolved IP address 168.168.14.15 as 0011, the switch determines "0001" corresponding to the to-be-resolved IP address as the fourth index value, and the switch updates the fourth index value "0001" to the second index value "0011". As shown in table 5, the host list is obtained after the switch updates the fourth index value "0001" corresponding to the to-be-resolved IP address 168.168.14.15 to the second index value "0011":
TABLE 5
IP address to be resolved | Second index value |
168.168.14.15 | 0011 |
168.168.12.18 | 0011 |
168.168.13.16 | 0001 |
In the embodiment of the invention, the host list is used for recording the IP addresses to be analyzed which are already received by the switch, different IP addresses to be analyzed are associated with the preset processing action in the ARP list through the same second index value, the aim of reducing the number of newly-built ARP list items is realized through a many-to-one mode, the ARP list item resources are efficiently utilized, and the forwarding efficiency of the switch is greatly improved.
Fig. 3 is a flowchart of an embodiment of a method for indexing an ARP entry according to another ARP entry provided in the present invention, where the embodiment of the present invention is exemplarily described with reference to fig. 1, and as shown in fig. 3, the method includes the following steps:
step 301: and when the IP address to be analyzed is determined to be successfully analyzed, establishing an ARP table entry in the ARP list, wherein the ARP table entry is used for recording an analysis result and a fifth index value corresponding to the IP address to be analyzed.
Step 302: and recording the corresponding relation between the IP address to be analyzed and the fifth index value in a host list.
In step 301, the switch establishes an ARP entry in the ARP list for recording the resolution result and the fifth index value corresponding to the IP address to be resolved. As shown in table 6, is an example of the structure of the ARP list:
TABLE 6
In table 6, the MAC address, VLAN information, outgoing interface information, and preset port corresponding to the to-be-analyzed IP address 168.168.14.15 are all empty, and the to-be-analyzed IP address corresponds to the index value "0011" and the preset processing action "discard the packet"; the IP address to be resolved 168.168.12.18 corresponds to the MAC address 43-23-14-36-00-00, the VLAN information VLAN-if1, the outbound interface information 87, the preset port 47 and the index value 0101. For example, when the third row in table 6 corresponds to the IP address to be resolved 168.168.12.18, the switch establishes an ARP entry in the ARP list, and the fifth index value is the index value "0101", and those skilled in the art can understand that the fifth index value is used to establish a one-to-one index relationship between the host list and the ARP list, where the relevant content of the fifth index value may refer to the related description in the prior art, and details thereof are not described here.
In step 302, in conjunction with step 301, the switch records the correspondence between the IP address to be resolved and the fifth index value in the host list.
In the embodiment of the invention, aiming at the IP address to be analyzed successfully, the switch records the analysis result by establishing the new ARP table entry, so that the compatibility is strong, and the analysis result of the IP address to be analyzed can be completely recorded.
