4. A shoe as claimed in claim 3 wherein said releasable connector is a lace and the first and/or second ends of said first and second straps are provided with lace apertures through which said lace may be threaded.
5. The shoe of claim 4, wherein the second ends of the first and second straps are each secured at a lace aperture at an uppermost lace of the shoe body by the lace.
6. The shoe of any of claims 1-5, wherein the second ends of the first strap and the second strap each extend forward after the heel upper abutment intersects and are attached proximate the throat opening.
7. The shoe of claim 6 wherein the first ends of the first and second straps are each attached proximate the throat opening.
8. The shoe of any of claims 1-5, wherein the first strap and the second strap are both elastic fabric straps.
9. The shoe of any one of claims 1-5, wherein the shoe body comprises an upper and a sole, the upper and the sole defining the chamber, and wherein the first strap and the second strap are connected at both ends to the upper and extend through the sole into and out of the chamber.
