Description

Intelligent printing method and system
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of printing equipment, in particular to an intelligent printing method and a corresponding intelligent printing system.
Background
With the development and popularization of network technology and multimedia technology, the source ways for people to obtain useful information and print have also changed greatly. The core position of local text files and image files is gradually being replaced by network information, which has become a major source of print content for the public.
Although the current printers are equipped with higher hardware configuration and develop a powerful supporting software system, the fundamental change of the user printing content source is not realized, and the user is still required to search, make local files and transmit the local files to the printer for printing output through a network. That is, in the current network society of information explosion, the operation mode of data printing is changed from that a local file is firstly made according to local information and sent to a printer for printing, and then required information is downloaded from the network, downloaded to the local file and sent to the printer for printing and outputting. This operation increases the operation steps for the user to print desired contents and decreases the work efficiency.
Furthermore, depending on the printing habits of each user, in addition to the currently printed content, associated material that conforms to the printing habits of the user may be a potential printing requirement. In the current printing operation mode, the user is still required to go to the network to retrieve the associated material, then to make the print file again and print again, that is, the user repeatedly executes the retrieval of the associated print content, the making and printing operation of the print file is equal to the user print information acquisition, and the processing and printing operation flow is repeatedly executed.
Therefore, there is a need in the art for a more intelligent printing scheme to improve office efficiency.

Detailed Description
The invention is described in detail below with reference to the figures and specific embodiments. It is noted that the aspects described below in connection with the figures and the specific embodiments are only exemplary and should not be construed as imposing any limitation on the scope of the present invention.
FIG. 1 is a block diagram illustrating an intelligent printing system 100 in accordance with an aspect of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 1, the intelligent printing system 100 may include a UI module 110, a keyword extraction module 120, a keyword prediction module 130, a retrieval module 140, an editing module 150, a database 160, a printing module 170, and a communication module 180.
In practice, all the modules described above may be distributed, for example, the UI module 110 and the printing module 170 may be distributed on the printing device side, and the keyword extraction module 120, the keyword prediction module 130, the retrieval module 140, the editing module 150, the database 160, and the communication module 180 may be distributed on the server side, and the printing device side and the server side may communicate with each other.
Alternatively, all of the above modules of the intelligent printing system 100 are integrated on the printing device side, for example, in a printer. Alternatively, in addition to the UI module 110 and the printing module 170 being distributed on the printing device side, the keyword extraction module 120, the keyword prediction module 130, the retrieval module 140, the editing module 150, the database 160, and the communication module 180 may be distributed on any one of the printing device side or the server side.
As described above, the UI module 110 is disposed on the printing apparatus side, for example, in the form of an operation panel that is common on printers. The UI module 110 may display various information such as print settings to the user and receive various operations and settings of the user. The print module 170 may be used to print out a file selected for printing by the user.
In particular, the intelligent printing system 100 may include a keyword extraction module 120, a keyword prediction module 130, a retrieval module 140, and a database 160. As described above, these modules may be provided on the printing apparatus side, or may be provided on a separate server.
After the user prints a current document, the keyword extraction module 120 may be configured to extract a current keyword from the printed document name, where the extracted current keyword may be one or more keywords. In one example, the keyword extraction module 120 may employ a TextRank algorithm to extract keywords in the file name.
In the case where the keyword extraction module 120 is disposed on an independent server side, when a user prints a document through a terminal such as a computer, a tablet, a mobile phone, or a direct printing program, the printing device side sends the current print document name to the keyword extraction module 120 on the server side for the user to extract a keyword after receiving a print job.
Taking the file name of the printed file as JAVA Programming doc as an example, the extracted keywords are as follows: java, programming.
The database 160 stores therein the historical print data of the user. After extracting the current keywords, keyword prediction module 130 may predict potential keywords from the user's historical print data based on the current keywords. The potential keywords are keywords which are potentially interesting to the user, and the content which is potentially interesting to the user can be directly retrieved through the keywords.
The user's historical print data in the database 160 mainly includes a collection of print records about the user, each of which stores therein a print time for each print job and a keyword of a printed file name.
In an example, the keyword prediction module 130 may include a lookup module 132, a weight assignment and calculation module 134, and a ranking module 136.
For each current keyword, the lookup module 132 may lookup all print records from the set of print records that contain the current keyword. In the present invention, the print record containing the current keyword may be referred to as an associated print record.
For example, first, for the current keyword "Java", the search module 132 may search for the set of print records of the user, and search for all associated print records containing "Java", where the searched associated print records may be one or more.
For example, the lookup module 132 may find that a print record includes the keyword "Java" and the print time of the print record is 2015, 1 month, 15 days, 15 dots 06 minutes 03 seconds. In addition to this, other associated print records may also be found.
The lookup module may then lookup, for each associated print record, a predetermined number of following print records that follow the associated print record in chronological order. The predetermined number here may be 5, for example.
Still taking the above-mentioned related print record of 2015 year 1, 15 dots 06 minutes 03 seconds as an example, 5 print records following this related print record may be regarded as the following print record of the related print record.
Assume that these 5 following print records are:
13 o' clock 23 min 06 s on 1/16/2015, keywords: c + +;
09: 16 min 16 s at 1/18/2015, keyword: programming and designing;
18 o' clock 34 min 29 sec 1 month 21 day 2015, keyword: c #;
24 min 57 s at 10 o' clock on 23 d 1/2015, keywords: a framework, a programmer;
20 o' clock 04 min 11 sec, 24/2015, keyword: mode(s).
Similarly, similar to the above operation is performed for all the associated print records found by the current keyword "Java", and a corresponding predetermined number of following print records after each associated print record are found.
In one example, following print records within a predetermined time period, e.g., within 10 days, after each associated print record may be found. In this example, if the predetermined number of following print records is not reached within the predetermined period of time, only the following print records actually existing within the predetermined period of time are found.
The weight assignment and calculation module 134 may assign weights to keywords of each following print record according to how close each following print record is to the time of its associated print record that follows. For example, for each associated print record, a higher weight is assigned to a keyword of a following print record that is closer to the time thereof, and a lower weight is assigned to a keyword of a following print record that is further from the time thereof.
Taking the above-mentioned related print record following 15 o 'clock 06 min 03 sec at 1/15/2015 as an example, the weight assigned to the 5 keywords of the related print record is related to the time distance from the related print record, and the keywords of the related print record following the related print record (i.e., 15 o' clock 06 min 03 sec at 15/2015) having the closer time are, the higher the weight is, and the lower the weight is otherwise.
As a specific example, assuming that the predetermined number is J, the weight of the keyword of the first following print record may be J, the weight of the keyword of the second following print record may be J-1, and so on, and the weight of the keyword of the last following print record may be 1.
Taking the related print record of 15 dots 06 minutes 03 seconds at 15 days 1 month 15 in 2015 as an example, the weight assigned to each keyword following the print record is as follows:
C++:5
programming and designing: 4
C#:3
Framework, programmer: 2
Mode (2): 1
Weights are assigned in a similar manner to the keywords of all following print records of all associated print records of the current keyword "Java", and then weights are assigned to the keywords of all following print records of all associated print records of "programming".
Then, the weight distribution and calculation module 134 may accumulate the weights distributed to the keywords of the following print records to obtain the accumulated weight of each keyword. Since the keywords of each print record may be repeated, for a keyword, the weights assigned to the keyword in different following print records may be accumulated to obtain an accumulated weight for the keyword.
For example, if the following print record following another associated print record of the current keyword "Java" also includes C + +, then a weight may be assigned accordingly, or if the following print record following a certain associated print record of the current keyword "programming" also includes C + +, then C + + may be assigned a plurality of weights, and then all the weights assigned with respect to C + + are accumulated to obtain the accumulated weight of the keyword C + +.
The ranking module 136 may rank the keywords according to their cumulative weights, with the keywords with the highest cumulative weights as the potential keywords. For example, the top 10 keyword sets sorted from high to low according to weight values are { "C + +", "design and skill", "C #", "JS", "mode" … }, and these 10 keywords may be potential keywords.
The retrieval module 140 may retrieve the potential document based on a set of keywords that includes at least the current keyword and the predicted potential keyword. The retrieval module 140 may retrieve content that may be of interest to the user over the internet based on keywords in the set of keywords.
Preferably, the invention can also take the historical printing habit of the department where the user is located into consideration for content retrieval. For example, the keyword set for retrieval may further include several keywords that appear most frequently in the print history information in a recent certain period of time in the department where the user is located, such as "budget", "management", "mode". The print history information of the department in which the user is located is also stored in the database 160.
Specifically, the editing module 150 may sequentially arrange the current keyword, the potential keyword, and a plurality of keywords with the highest frequency of occurrence in the printing history information within a certain period of time of the department where the user is located, and delete the repeated keywords after the arrangement.
For example, taking the current keywords "Java" and "programming" as examples above, the resulting set of keywords might be:
{ "JAVA", "Programming", "C + +", "design and skill", "C #", "JS", "mode" … "," budget "," management "}
The set of keywords may be displayed to the user through the UI module 110 and user edits to the set of keywords may be received via the UI module 110. The retrieval module 140 may then perform a retrieval based on the edited set of keywords. In particular, the user may change the priority of keywords in the resulting set of keywords, add or delete keywords, and so forth.
Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram showing an interface of an operation panel on the printer device side, under which a user can edit a keyword set.
The keyword extraction module 120, the keyword prediction module 130, and the retrieval module 140 are operated while the current document is printed. That is, when a user is waiting for a print document to be printed, a keyword set can be obtained, thereby performing a search for a potential document.
In the present invention, after printing a current file, a current keyword of a file name of the current file, a printing time, and information of a department to which a user belongs are stored in the database 160 as historical printing data of the user and printing history information of the department.
After retrieving the potential files, UI module 110 may display the potential files for reference by the user. Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram showing an interface of an operation panel on the printer device side, under which interface display a user can select a potential file of interest, for example, print or send to a specified location.
Taking the above example as an example, a plurality of search results conforming to a specific file format may be searched based on the keyword set. For example, the specific file format may be { txt, doc, dox, html, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, pdf … }. The first 100 search result files thus searched are: { "JAVA programming dictionary", "JAVA design skill and experience share", "C + + programming thought (fourth edition)", and "JAVA programming language is imported to develop the classical learning knowledge system of actual combat" the super-guest college of academic "… }.
The top certain number of search results may be selected from these search results based on the constraint information such as printer type and panel size as potential documents to be displayed on the panel for reference by the user.
In one example, the user may wish to print one of the suggested underlying documents, and the print module 170 may immediately print that document. In this example, after printing the potential file, the keyword extraction module 120 also extracts a keyword of the file name of the printed potential file, and then the keyword of the printed potential file, the printing time, the information of the department to which the user belongs are saved in the database 160 as the historical printing data of the user and the printing history information of the department.
In another example, the communication module 180 may send a potential file to a specified location, such as a mailbox address, to which the user may wish to send the potential file after selecting the potential file. The mailbox address may also be stored in the database 160 as user information about the user.
FIG. 4 is a flow chart illustrating a smart printing method 400 in accordance with an aspect of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 4, the intelligent printing method 400 may include the steps of:
in step 401, a current keyword is extracted from the filename of a current file printed by a user.
At step 402, potential keywords are predicted from the user's historical print data based on the current keywords.
In the present invention, the user's historical print data includes a collection of print records, each print record including a print time associated with each print job and a keyword for a printed file name.
In particular, keyword prediction may first look up, for each current keyword, all associated print records from the collection of print records that contain the current keyword. Then, a predetermined number of following print records following the associated print record in chronological order are searched for each associated print record. Preferably, the predetermined number of following print records is a following print record within a predetermined time period after the associated print record it follows. For example, there may be 5 following print records for up to 10 days.
And distributing weights to the keywords of the following printing records according to the time distance between each following printing record and the associated printing record followed by the following printing record. For example, for each associated print record, keywords of following print records closer to the time thereof are assigned higher weights, and keywords of following print records farther from the time thereof are assigned lower weights.
Then, the weights assigned to the keywords of each following print record are accumulated to obtain the accumulated weight of each keyword. And finally, sequencing according to the accumulated weight of each keyword, wherein a plurality of keywords with the highest accumulated weight are used as potential keywords.
In step 403, the potential document is retrieved based on a set of keywords, the set of keywords including at least the current keyword and the potential keyword.
In one example, the keyword set may further include keywords that appear most frequently in the printing history information in a recent period of time in the department where the user is located.
In this example, the current keyword, the potential keyword, and the keywords with the highest frequency of occurrence in the print history information of the department where the user is located may be sequentially arranged, and then the repeated keywords after the arrangement may be deleted to obtain the keyword set.
Preferably, the user can edit the keyword set according to the requirement of the user, for example, changing the priority order of the keywords in the obtained keyword set, and adding or deleting the keywords. After receiving an edit instruction of the user on the obtained keyword set, performing an edit operation on the obtained keyword set, and then performing a search based on the edited keyword set.
Preferably, the steps of extracting the current keyword, predicting the potential keyword, and retrieving the potential document are performed while printing the current document to save time for the user.
