Description

Laundry drum with perforated drum rear wall
Technical Field
The invention relates to a rotatable laundry drum having a drum shell and a drum rear wall, wherein the drum rear wall has at least one perforated air through-passage region. Furthermore, the invention relates to a laundry drying appliance with such a laundry drum. The invention can be advantageously applied in particular to a clothes dryer or washer-dryer, in particular an air circulation dryer.
background
In order to achieve a uniform drying result, the laundry is moved in the dryer drum and mixed thoroughly. For this reason, good contact between the laundry and the drum surface is required. While a relative movement always occurs between the laundry and the drum surface. This subjects the laundry to mechanical and thermal loads, which can cause the laundry to wear.
DE 19828243 a1 discloses a laundry treatment machine, in particular a washer dryer, having a laundry drum rotatably mounted in a lye container and having a drying air inlet region and an air outlet region. In order to achieve a shortening of the drying process in addition to an optimized utilization of the available volume of the laundry drum, the laundry drum has an inwardly formed or drawn drum rear wall which is perforated over the entire surface. A sealing device is arranged between the rear wall of the roller and the alkali liquor container. The drum back wall can rotate with the remaining laundry drum.
DE 102006061210 a1 discloses a drum for a household appliance for caring for laundry, which is cylindrically configured and comprises a back wall and a housing, wherein an anti-mess device for cleaning the laundry with rotation of the drum is arranged on the back wall and extends into the interior of the drum.
DE 10162918 a1 discloses a laundry drum for a laundry treatment machine, wherein the laundry drum is rotatably supported inside a housing of the laundry treatment machine, preferably a washing machine, and has at least one chassis and an outer shell. Each of the two components is at least partially made of a sheet material and one or both components are provided with an arch structure pointing in the direction of the interior of the drum. In order to configure the components more rigidly, to improve their drainage capacity and to support their high requirements, the arch structure is constructed from spherical caps pointing in the direction of the interior of the drum.
EP 2592184 a1 discloses a clothes dryer with a laundry drum whose drum housing is rotatable relative to a stationary drum rear wall.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art at least in part and to provide an improved possibility, in particular, for the contact of the laundry with the laundry drum to be configured in such a way that a good thorough mixing and movement of the laundry in the laundry drum is achieved while reducing the laundry load.
This object is achieved according to the features of the independent claims. Preferred embodiments can be derived in particular from the dependent claims and the following description and the drawings.
The object is therefore achieved by a rotatable laundry drum having a drum shell and a drum rear wall, wherein the drum rear wall has at least one perforated air passage region, wherein at least one non-perforated embossing directed in the direction of the drum interior is introduced into the perforated air passage region, wherein the at least one embossing has at least one rib extending radially outward, wherein the rib extends in particular in a curved manner in the direction of rotation of the laundry drum (but in general also against the direction of rotation).
The laundry drum has the advantage that the embossing or embossing region can be used as a vertically disposed driver, which leads to an increased movement of the laundry. Furthermore, the nip reduces the contact of the laundry with the drum rear wall, so that the laundry is less rubbed on the drum rear wall, which reduces the wear of the laundry fluff. This wear is further reduced because the embossing is not perforated or because of the tight surface of the embossing, since the clothing is no longer worn by the perforated holes. The absence of perforations produces other advantages: where the laundry is pressed particularly strongly against the rear wall of the drum, no warm air is blown directly onto the laundry, which reduces the thermal load. The embossing without perforations also stiffens the drum rear wall, which enables material savings, for example, a reduction in sheet thickness and thus a reduction in costs.
The laundry drum has other advantages: a particularly effective carrying of the article of clothing and a reduction in the contact of the article of clothing with the perforated region can be achieved in this way. The angle of curvature and/or the angle of attack (Anstellwinkel) of at least one rib can be flexibly adapted to the requirements for the desired laundry situation.
The perforated air through areas may have regular or irregular hole portions. The aperture portions may have apertures shaped in the same manner or in different manners, such as circular apertures and/or apertures in the form of slits.
The impressions are in particular impressions which are not consecutive in the circumferential direction or rotational direction of the cylinder rear wall, i.e. in particular are not only rotationally symmetrical around the rotational axis of the cylinder rear wall consecutively. Instead, when viewing at least one annular region of the drum rear wall centered on the axis of rotation, there is an impression adjacent to the perforated partial region.
The drum shell of the laundry drum can be configured on the front side in such a way that it can be directly rotatably supported on the bearing cover or the housing. In this case, in particular, the front wall of the drum can be dispensed with. The open front side of the laundry drum can now be used as a filling opening. Alternatively, the laundry drum may have a drum front wall which surrounds the filling opening and which may be used, for example, for the rotatable mounting of the laundry drum on the front side.
The drum rear wall may also be referred to as the rear drum bottom or simply drum bottom.
In one embodiment, the drum housing is rotatable relative to the stationary drum rear wall. In this configuration, the movement of the laundry is transmitted only by the movement of the drum shell and possibly by the movement of the drum front wall (if present and possibly rotating with it). In contrast, the drum rear wall is fixedly connected to the rear bearing cap or to the appliance rear wall and does not rotate therewith. Thereby, a greater relative movement is generated between the laundry and the drum rear wall than in the case where the drum rear wall rotates concomitantly. Furthermore, the stationary drum rear wall can be used directly for the guidance of the heated air, which enables a greater volume flow through the laundry drum. The greater relative movement between the laundry and the stationary drum rear wall compared to the co-rotating drum rear wall and the higher heat load of the laundry when in direct contact with the stationary drum rear wall (since this drum rear wall is directly used for the guidance of the heated air and therefore has a higher temperature than the drum rear wall in the co-rotating design) can be at least compensated or even overcompensated by providing the imprint.
In another embodiment, the at least one embossing is centrally disposed. This makes it possible to achieve a particularly effective reinforcement and to prevent the clothing items lying against them from twisting.
In yet another embodiment, the embossing has a plurality of centrally disposed ribs which are arranged in an equiangular distribution in the circumferential direction. This provides a particularly effective carrying of the item of clothing and a particularly effective removal of the item of clothing from the impression zone. The number of ribs may be, for example, two, three, four, five or more.
Furthermore, it is provided that the at least one embossing has a radial distance from the outer edge of the perforated air passage area. This enables a particularly high air flow rate.
An additional or alternative configuration is that the at least one embossing extends up to the outer edge of the perforated air passage region. This results in the advantage of particularly effective reinforcement of the rear wall of the drum.
In a further embodiment, the inwardly curved edge region of the drum rear wall is configured in an unperforated manner. This configuration is advantageous because if the edge region is perforated, the clothing item can bear particularly strongly against such edge region and can therefore be loaded there as well.
Furthermore, the object is achieved by a drum rear wall as described above.
the task is also solved by a laundry dryer appliance having a laundry drum as described above. The laundry drying appliance may be constructed similarly to a laundry drum and yields the same advantages.
Laundry drying appliances are in particular household appliances, in particular household appliances in the sense of "white goods". The laundry drying appliance may be a stand-alone dryer or a combined wash and dry appliance or a washer-dryer. The laundry drying appliance may be an exhaust air dryer or an air circulation dryer. Especially in the case of an air-cycle dryer, the laundry drying appliance may have a heat pump or may be a heat pump dryer.
Drawings
The above features, characteristics and advantages of the present invention, and the type and manner of how to achieve them, will become more apparent and more readily appreciated in connection with the following schematic description of an embodiment, which is set forth in greater detail in connection with the accompanying drawings of the appended description. The figures show:
FIG. 1 is a view of an angled front section of a dryer including a clothes drum;
FIG. 2 is a front view of a drum back wall of the laundry drum of FIG. 1; and
fig. 3 is a front view of the drum rear wall.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a number of components of a dryer 1, including a laundry drum 2 and at least a portion of a rear housing wall 3. The laundry drum 2 has a hollow-cylindrical drum shell 4 which is open at the end and the rear end face 5 of which is covered by means of a standing or fixed drum rear wall 6.
The drum shell 4 can be rotated about its (here horizontal) longitudinal axis or axis of symmetry. For this purpose, a belt 7 is tensioned in the circumferential direction around the outside of the drum shell 4, which belt can be driven by means of a motor 8 in order to rotate the drum shell 4 concomitantly. The drum shell 4 is supported on rollers 9. The drum shell 4 then rotates relative to the drum rear wall 6 or relative to the drum rear wall 6.
When the dryer 1 is in operation, relatively dry warm air flows through the drum rear wall 6 into the interior of the laundry drum 2 and can receive moisture from the laundry there. The relatively moist air can escape from the front face which also serves as the filling opening 10. In the air-circulating dryer, the relatively moist air is then cooled, whereby it is condensed out of moisture and then reheated in order then to be guided again through the drum rear wall 6 into the interior of the laundry drum 2. The condensation and heating can be carried out, for example, by means of a heat pump.
The drum shell 4 and/or the drum rear wall 6 can be present as a sheet metal part, in particular as a stamped/bent part.
Fig. 2 shows the drum rear wall 6 of the laundry drum 2 in a front view. The drum rear wall 6 is configured on its outer annular edge region 11 for rotatable engagement with the rear edge of the drum shell 4. For this purpose, the drum housing 4 can be designed in the form of a recess. An intermediate annular transition zone 12 adjoining the drum shell separates the edge zone 11 and the flat central zone 13. The transition region 12 is bent obliquely forward from the central region 13. The transition region 12 and the central region 13 serve as perforated air passage regions and are each perforated for this purpose with, for example, circular holes. The disadvantage here is that the items of clothing lie tightly against the perforated regions 12 and 13 and are therefore subjected to mechanical and thermal loads, in particular also at the transition region 12.
Fig. 3 shows the drum back wall 14 according to the invention in a front view. Which can be used in the dryer 1 with the laundry drum 2 instead of the drum rear wall 6.
With respect to the drum back wall 6, the drum back wall 14 has only a central region 15 as an at least partially perforated air through region, whereas the transition region 16 is unperforated. The absence of perforation of the transition zone 16 allows to reduce the mechanical wear of the garments sliding on this transition zone and to reduce the thermal load to which it is subjected due to direct contact with the warm air.
In the central region 15, the non-perforated embossed section 17, which points in the direction of the cylinder interior (i.e. forwards), is introduced into the perforated partial region 15 a. The embossing 17 has four ribs 18 placed in the middle of the central region 15 and extending outwardly (i.e. radially) therefrom. The ribs 18 are distributed uniformly in the circumferential direction (about the longitudinal axis) and are curved in the direction of rotation of the drum shell 4 (directed clockwise in this view). The ribs 18 do not reach the outer edge of the central region 15 but leave a radial spacing.
As a result of the embossing 17, the laundry is no longer pressed so strongly against the perforated region 15a and is therefore no longer mechanically loaded in a sliding manner during the rotation of the drum shell 4. Thereby also reducing the heat load experienced by the warm drum back wall 14 and warm air. The ribs 18 of the embossing 17 serve as fixed "catches" or as reversal areas for the additional movement of the laundry.
It will be clear that the invention is not limited to the embodiments shown.
whereby also more than one imprint may be present.
Further, only one rib, two ribs, three ribs, five ribs, etc. may be used in addition to four ribs. At least one rib, in particular all ribs, may extend up to the edge of the central region.
For example, the angle of curvature, angle of attack, width and/or length of the ribs, etc. may be varied in order to achieve the desired laundry conditions. The at least one rib can in particular also be rectilinear. However, the embossed portion is not limited to the presence of the rib. The at least one embossing can also have other shapes, in particular non-uniform ring shapes. For example, the central region may have a plurality of bulge-like or knob-like projections, which are distributed in particular over the central region.
The central region may be flat or curved in cross-section (parallel to the longitudinal axis of the drum shell).
