Abstract

Description

具有热收缩套管的线缆-连接器组件
技术领域
本发明总体涉及电缆连接器,并且更具体地,涉及用于电缆的同轴连接器。
背景技术
同轴线缆一般用于RF通信系统中。典型的同轴线缆包括内导体、外导体和隔开内导体及外导体的介电层以及覆盖外导体的护套。在例如需要高水平的精度和可靠性的通信系统中,可以应用同轴线缆连接器来端接同轴线缆。
同轴连接器接口提供了端接于带有所需连接器接口的连接器的线缆和具有安装在装置或另一线缆上的配合连接器接口的相应连接器之间的连接/断开功能。典型地,一个连接器将包括连接至内导体的诸如引脚或接线柱的结构以及连接至外导体的外导体连接器本体;这些与配合套管(用于内导体的引脚或接线柱)以及第二连接器的另一外导体连接器本体配合。同轴连接器接口经常使用当耦合螺母(由连接器之一捕获)旋到其它连接器上时使连接器接口对进入安全机电啮合的螺纹耦合螺母或其它固定器。线缆和连接器之间的接口典型地利用聚合物套管、圆筒等,经常以在线缆的端部和连接器的狭窄部分注塑模制的“包覆成型”本体的形式来保护。示例性包覆成型本体在Vaccaro的美国专利申请No.2014/0370747中示出,其公开内容在此将其全部并入本文。
无源互调失真(PIM)是电气干扰/信号传输劣化的一种形式,其在小于对称互连时和/或由于机电互连随时间偏移或劣化而发生。由于机械压力、振动、热循环和/或材料劣化,互连可能会偏移。由于由单个低质量互连产生的PIM可能降低整个RF系统的电气性能,所以PIM可以是重要互连质量特性。因此,典型地期望经由线缆-连接器设计降低/消除PIM。

现在参考附图,图1和图2中示出了宽泛地指定为5的线缆-连接器组件。组件5包括线缆10和连接器30。线缆10包括内导体12、沿圆周地覆盖内导体12的介电层14、沿圆周地覆盖介电层14的外导体层16和沿圆周地覆盖外导体16的聚合物线缆护套20。在示出的实施例中,外导体16是波纹状的,但是本领域技术人员将理解,外导体16可以是平滑的、交错的或已知适用于同轴线缆的任何其它配置。线缆10可以是任何大小的(包括1/4”和3/8”),并且可以是跨接线缆(诸如RF跨接线缆)或其它各种线缆。
连接器30包括中心接触体32和外导体本体34。中心接触体32一般具有圆柱形接线柱32a并且经由轴套33安装在线缆10的内导体12上并与其电接触。外导体本体34经由尾部35与线缆10的外导体16电接触地安装,尾部35在焊接点35a被焊接到外导体16。环形介电间隔物36定位于中心接触体32和外导体本体34之间,靠近内导体12和中心接触体32之间的结。另一环形介电间隔物37定位于邻近轴套33的封闭端并且保持中心接触体32和外导体本体34之间的间隔。间隔物36、37将外导体本体34定位为与中心接触体32分离并沿圆周地围绕中心接触体32。
本领域技术人员将理解,连接器30可以是插头、插座或可以与配合连接器互连的其它各种连接器。连接器30可以是任何类型,包括4.3/10、7/16DIN以及N型连接器。
如图1和2可以看出,组件5可以包括热收缩套管40,其覆盖线缆10的端部以及连接器30的外导体本体34的尾部35。热收缩套管40由当被加热时收缩(这在图3中示意性示出,其中加热/收缩前示出为套管40的较宽左端,加热/收缩后示出为较窄右端)的诸如交联聚烯烃的材料形成。一个示例性套管是SBRS-(3X)套筒(从中国深圳坪山沃尔(Woer)可以获得),其是具有交联聚烯烃的外层和热熔粘合剂的内层的双层套筒。在一些实施例中,期望热收缩套管40的内直径收缩至其原始直径的约1/3(见如下表1)。

热收缩套管40可以具有在约1.25和2.25mm之间的厚度,并且在一些实施例中,可以在约1.4和2.0mm之间。热收缩套管40可以具有在约40和60mm之间的长度。应当理解,在一些实施例中,可以应用多于一层热收缩套管;例如,利用两个覆盖层的热收缩套管40可以取得积极结果。
如上所述以及可以在图2中看到的,热收缩套管40共形地覆盖线缆10的端部和外导体本体34的尾部35(或其它部分)。套管40的较宽部分42收缩为覆盖尾部35,并且较窄部分44收缩为覆盖线缆10的护套20的一部分。本领域技术人员将认识到,底层结构可以具有不同大小、尺寸和/或形状(例如,尾部35可以是圆形、六边形、方形等)并且仍然适合用于本发明。
一般通过将端接线缆(即,具有连接器30附接于其的线缆10)插入套管40的中空芯部来应用热收缩套管40,之后加热套管40以使其收缩为共形地覆盖在线缆10的端部以及连接器30的一部分。可以在约125和200摄氏度之间的温度执行加热。
可以看到,使用热收缩套管以保护线缆-连接器接口(而不是使用以前经常使用的包覆成型本体)的线缆-连接器组件5可以给组件提供在压力下对线缆-连接器接口进行PIM测试中的意外良好的性能。
作为示例,诸如以上描述的线缆-连接器组件(使用分层置于彼此的两个热收缩套管40)在由IEC-62037限定的三个不同的压力诱导条件下经受PIM测试:撞击(60g重量下落30cm落在线缆上);90度弯曲;以及360度扭曲。在1800MHz带宽、以扫描模式测量了PIM,具有2x43dBm的功率输出。
图4中示出了测试的结果,在每个实例中(即,由于碰撞、弯曲以及扭曲的压力),线缆理想地展现了接近-129dBm的平均PIM。这个结果表明优异的PIM性能,因为它落入了对于4.3/10连接器(-119dBm)、7/16DIN连接器(-116dBm)以及N型连接器(-112dBm)的接口的所需的PIM。热收缩套管40的使用可以提供在宽频带(例如,45MHz至3,800MHz)的良好的回波损耗。
值得一提的是,包括热收缩套管40可以提供接口的环境密封以及对于连接器(特别是焊接的和/或夹持型的接头)的鲁棒的应力释放以及机械保护。也可以通过使用热收缩套管40增加绝缘性和耐磨损性。

Claims (12)

1.一种形成线缆-连接器组件的方法,包括以下步骤:
(a)提供端接有同轴连接器的同轴线缆,其中所述同轴线缆具有内导体、沿圆周地围绕所述内导体的介电层、沿圆周地围绕所述介电层的外导体以及沿圆周地围绕所述外导体的聚合物护套,并且其中所述同轴连接器具有附接到所述同轴线缆的所述内导体的中心接触体、附接到所述同轴线缆的所述外导体的外导体本体以及插入在所述中心接触体和所述外导体本体之间的介电间隔物;
(b)将端接的线缆插入第一热收缩套管;
(c)将所述第一热收缩套管插入第二热收缩套管;以及
(d)加热所述第一热收缩套管和所述第二热收缩套管以使得所述第一热收缩套管和所述第二热收缩套管充分地收缩以共形地覆盖于线缆护套的一部分和所述连接器的所述外导体本体的一部分上。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述第一热收缩套管包括聚烯烃。
3.如权利要求2所述的方法,其中所述第一热收缩套管包括热熔粘合剂的内层和聚烯烃形成的外层。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述外导体是波纹状外导体。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述组件满足IRC 62037的条件。
6.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述连接器是从包括以下的组中选出的:4.3/10连接器;7/16 DIN连接器;以及N型连接器。
7.一种同轴线缆-连接器组件,包括:
(a)同轴线缆,所述同轴线缆具有内导体、沿圆周地围绕所述内导体的介电层、沿圆周地围绕所述介电层的外导体以及沿圆周地围绕所述外导体的聚合物护套;
(b)同轴连接器,所述同轴连接器具有附接到所述同轴线缆的所述内导体的中心接触体、附接到所述同轴线缆的所述外导体的外导体本体以及插入在所述中心接触体和所述外导体本体之间的介电间隔物;以及
(c)热收缩套管,所述热收缩套管共形地覆盖于线缆护套的一部分和所述连接器的所述外导体本体的一部分上,其中所述热收缩套管是第一热收缩套管,并且所述同轴线缆-连接器组件还包括共形地覆盖于所述第一热收缩套管上的第二热收缩套管。
8.如权利要求7所述的组件,其中所述热收缩套管包括聚烯烃。
9.如权利要求8所述的组件,其中所述热收缩套管包括热熔粘合剂的内层和聚烯烃形成的外层。
10.如权利要求7所述的组件,其中所述外导体是波纹状外导体。
11.如权利要求7所述的组件,其中所述组件满足IRC 62037的条件。
