Description

Drawer
Technical Field
The present invention relates to drawers, and is useful in any field and for receiving various types of objects. One possible application of the drawer may be, for example, the interior display window of a store, in which items must be displayed and handled with the greatest degree of caution.
Background
It is known that a typical drawer generally comprises an extractable support inserted in a supporting structure and rigidly constrained to the front of a panel, with or without handles. The drawer is normally opened and closed by pulling or pushing the front panel, and typically has a plurality of sliding rails or compartments along its side walls.
The front panel normally has an upper edge, located at a greater height than the support plane of the articles inside the drawer, and is therefore an obstacle to the handling and removal of the articles when the drawer is partially or fully open.
It is also known that in some shops, such as jewelry shops or the like, showcases are used to display or sell items, normally comprising a transparent upper plane, through which said items are visible resting on a removable shelf of a drawer and therefore having the function of removing the displayed goods.
In the case of, for example, these display windows, the known drawers tend to be very large and inconvenient to remove and take the displayed goods, since there must be considerable free space in the area behind the window to allow the operator to open the drawer and remove the goods.
Thus, in general, the traditional opening and closing action of the drawers, as well as the manufacture of the drawers themselves, not only requires a considerable free manoeuvring space for opening and closing them, but also the manoeuvring and access to the items inside the drawer also has severe constraints, such as the front panel of the drawer, which in any case is still in front of and above the support plane for the items, obstructing the latter, even if the drawer is partially or completely open.
Another constraint for the removal of items from a conventional drawer may be that the side walls of the drawer have an excessive height.
One purpose of the present invention is therefore to obtain a drawer in which the extraction and insertion of the extractable support can be carried out quickly and efficiently, without imposing constraints on the access to the article when the drawer has been opened.
Another purpose of the present invention is to obtain a drawer in which, when the extractable support has been extracted, the work plane on which the object rests is free from any constraint, both frontal and lateral, while being considered at least as far as the part of the extractable support that is actually extracted.
A further object of the invention is to obtain a drawer that can be effectively used in a display window of a shop, such as a jewelry shop, a cake shop or the like, in which the items must be displayed and handled with the greatest degree of caution.
The applicant has devised, tested and embodied the present invention to overcome the shortcomings of the state of the art and to obtain these and other purposes and advantages.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention is set forth and characterized in the independent claims, while the dependent claims describe other characteristics of the invention or variants to the main inventive idea.
To achieve the above object, a drawer according to the present invention is characterized in that: the drawer comprises a movable front plate and a supporting structure, at least one extractable bracket is arranged in the drawer, the extractable bracket is provided with a supporting plane and is connected to the front plate through a rotary translation unit; the rotational-translational unit is configured to allow at least one rotational movement of the front plate to determine at least one extraction movement of the extractable carriage from the support structure or at least one insertion movement into the support structure in a determined translational direction; the extractable bracket is configured to slide in the translational direction along a plurality of rails positioned at the support structure, and the front plate is positioned at a height at least at the end of the rotational movement determining the extraction of the extractable bracket from the support structure in the translational direction, which is equal to or less than the height at which the support plane of the extractable bracket is positioned, so as not to interfere with the support plane.
The rotary translation unit comprises at least one lever, one side of which is hinged to the front plate and the other side of which is hinged to at least one cam, the lever being coupled to the extractable carriage and configured to: at least a first step of allowing said rotational movement of said front plate, during which the latter is distanced from or brought closer to said extractable carriage substantially stationary; and at least one subsequent step of allowing said rotary motion of said front plate, during which the latter determines a movement of traction or thrust of said extractable support with respect to said supporting structure.
According to another aspect of the invention, the support structure is a display window of a shop or at least a part of the display window, wherein even a plurality of drawers can be positioned adjacent to each other, each having its own extractable rack and its own front panel for extraction and insertion.

to facilitate understanding, identical reference numerals have been used, where possible, to designate identical elements that are common to the figures. It should be understood that various elements and features of one embodiment may be readily incorporated into other embodiments without further recitation.
Detailed Description
Referring to the drawings, and more particularly to FIGS. 1 and 2a, reference numeral 10 designates a drawer including a support structure 53 having a base 11. The support structure 53 will also comprise a bottom wall 12 and two side walls 16 and can be considered as at least part of a display window of a shop, or a drawer of box-like structure for furniture elements such as dressing tables, night tables or the like, or again as a fixed part of a decorative element, inside which the drawer is inserted.
The drawer 10 also comprises a front plate 13 and an extractable support 14 constrained to the front plate 13 by a roto-translating unit 15, in such a way as to drive the front plate 13, the extractable support 14 being able to be extracted from the drawer 10 or inserted into the drawer 10 by means of translation.
The front plate 13 is constrained not only by the roto-translating unit 15, but also by means of a plurality of rotary hinges 52, for example a pair of said rotary hinges 52, at the lower edges of both sides of the front plate 13, in correspondence of the lower edges thereof being constrained by the base 11 of the drawer. The swivel hinge 52 is aligned along a substantially horizontal axis a of rotation of the front plate 13.
The front plate 13 can also be constrained to a portion of the support structure 53 different from the base 11 by the rotating hinge 52.
The front plate 13 may also include a grip 54 to facilitate gripping.
The extractable support 14 is supported by a frame 17, for example quadrangular, and has a pair of racks 19 on two opposite sides 18.
The racks 19 are preferably identical, parallel and face each other.
The removable holder 14 may be removably attached to, for example, the frame 17 by any method known to be suitable for the purpose, such as by screws or the like, insertable into a plurality of holes 27 formed in the top of the frame 17.
A plurality of holes 20 are also formed on the side 18 of the frame 17 and may allow the attachment of a series of first sliding blocks 21, by any known means suitable for attachment, for example by means of screws, bolts or the like.
Each of said racks 19 is configured to engage with a first toothed wheel 22 of a motion transmission gear 23, in particular a motion multiplier gear 23. The gear 23 also comprises a second toothed wheel 24 having a smaller diameter than the first toothed wheel 22.
The two gears 23 shown are preferably identical and each has a central hole 25 which can engage in a corresponding pin 26 which projects from the base 11.
A pair of said first rails 28 are attached to said base 11, suitably shaped, with said first blocks 21, connectable to said supporting frame 17 of said extractable support 14, positioned and slidable in one direction or the other.
The base 11 also comprises a plurality of second guides 29, also suitably shaped and able to receive a plurality of second blocks 30 and a plurality of third blocks 31. A plurality of the second blocks 30 and a plurality of the third blocks 31 may slide on the second guide rail 29 in one direction or the other.
A plurality of said second blocks 30 may be attached near the ends of two opposite sides 32 of a slide 33, configured to support a pantograph device 37.
The pantograph device 37 substantially determines the position of the degree of rotation of the extractable bracket 14 with respect to the front plate 13.
In a central region of attachment with respect to the rack 30, and on the two opposite sides 32, the slider 33 comprises a pair of racks 34, each of which is configured to engage with one of the second toothed wheels 24 of the gear 23.
The racks 34 thus face the outside of the slide 33 and are preferably identical and parallel to each other.
Conversely, the third block 31 can be connected to a supporting slider 35 of a cam 36, which cooperates with the pantograph device 37.
The cam 36 is coupled to the extractable bracket 14 and can cooperate therewith during the function of the drawer.
The pantograph device 37 comprises a pair of cross arms 38, which cross at a central point where a through hole 39 is formed. In the through hole 39, which also passes through a through hole formed on the cam 36, a pin or screw 40 can be inserted, the ends of which are to be inserted to be attached in a corresponding position 41 formed on the base 11.
Each of the cross arms 38 of the pantograph device 37 comprises a pair of first ends 42 insertable along a pair of first through slots 43 formed on the cam 36 and along a pair of second through slots 44 also formed on the cam 36 and connected with the first through slots 43.
The first through slots 43 are parallel to each other and to the direction D of extraction and insertion of the frame 17 and therefore also of the extractable bracket 14 of the drawer 10.
As we said, the second through slot 44 is continuous with the first through slot 43, so there is no interruption of continuity and it converges towards a plate 45 of the pantograph device 37.
The flat plate 45 is integral with the supporting slider 33 of the pantograph device 37 and comprises a pair of grooves 46, preferably oriented in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction D of extraction and insertion of the frame 17 of the extractable bracket 14.
A pair of second ends 47 of the cross arm 38 engage within the groove 46. The second end 47 is opposite the first end 42 and is slidable in the groove 46 in one or the other direction.
The cam 36 is connectable, on the side disposed opposite to the plate 45 of the pantograph device 37, by means of a first rotary hinge 48 to one end of a lever 49, the other end of the lever 49 being connected by means of a second rotary hinge 50 to a support 51 attachable to the inner surface of the front plate 13.
A translation of the extractable bracket 14 towards the outside or towards the inside is determined by means of a rototranslation unit 15, as the front plate 13 rotates downwards or upwards and around the rotation hinge 52 positioned along the substantially horizontal axis a.
Fig. 2a and 3a show the closed position of the drawer 10. In this case, the front plate 13 is in a substantially vertical position and perpendicular to the support plane P of the extractable bracket 14 and the object or cargo.
In order to continue opening the drawer 10, it is first necessary to grasp the front plate 13 and rotate it downwards towards the outside of the drawer, see in particular fig. 2b and 3 b.
The rotation of the front plate 13 in the direction of the arrow R shown in fig. 3b, and thus tilting essentially around the horizontal axis a, moves the front plate 13 away from the extractable bracket 14.
In this phase, the rotation of the front plate 13 drives the lever 49, which translates the cam 36, sliding along the second guide 29 towards the outside of the drawer by means of the block 31. Thus, since the lever 49 is connected to the cam 36 on one side by means of the rotary hinge 48 and to the front plate 13 on the other side by means of the rotary hinge 50, the rotary movement of the front plate 13 determines a translation of the cam 36, constrained and sliding along the second guide 29 thanks to the third block 31.
The first through slot 43 of the cam 36 slides with respect to the first end 42 of the cross arm 38 of the pantograph device 37. The first through slots 43 are parallel and directed in the extraction direction D of the extractable bracket 14, so that during this step the frame 17 and the extractable bracket 14 to which it is connected remain stationary.
The rotation of the front plate 13 with respect to the extractable bracket 14 allows the front plate 13 to move away from the extractable bracket 14, so that the latter has the necessary translation space for the subsequent extraction.
The angle of rotation of the front plate 13 with respect to a vertical plane V may vary, for example, from about 40 ° to about 50 °, for example about 45 °, before the extractable bracket 14 starts to translate, in order to ensure a sufficient free space between the edge of the extractable bracket 14 and the inner surface of the front plate 13.
Continuing to rotate the front plate 13 in the direction R, see fig. 2c and 3c, the lever 49 pulls the cam 36 until the first end 42 of the pantograph device 37 engages the second through slot 44 of the cam 36, converging towards its centre. Once the first end 42 of the pantograph device 37 is engaged within the second through slot of the cam 36, the extractable bracket 14 translates towards the outside of the drawer 10 and thus towards the front plate 13. The translation is caused by the fact that the cam 36 causes the first end 42 of the cross arm 38 of the pantograph device 37 to converge along the second through slot 44. The pantograph device 37 pivots on the pin 40, so that the narrowing of the cross arm 38 also causes a displacement of the second end 47 of the cross arm 38 along the groove 46 of the flat plate 45.
The plate 45 is constrained to the supporting slider 33, to translate in a direction T opposite to the extraction direction D of the extractable bracket 14, following the movement of the second end 47 of the cross arm 38 of the pantograph device 37 along the groove 46 of the plate 45, so as to move closer to each other. The translation of the support slider 33 occurs as a result of the sliding of the second block 30 along the second guide 29.
The translation of the supporting slider 33 in the direction T, opposite to the extraction direction D of the extractable carriage 14 shown in fig. 2c, causes a rotation of the second toothed wheel 24 of the gear 23, due to the action of the two racks 34 made on opposite sides of the supporting slider 33.
The rotation of the second toothed wheel 24 causes the rotation of the first toothed wheel 22 of the two toothed wheels 23, the first toothed wheel 22 having a larger diameter.
The first toothed wheel 22 of the gear 23 is engaged inside the two racks 19 of the frame 17, so that the rotation of the first toothed wheel 22 causes a translation in the direction D of the frame 17 and therefore a translation of the extractable support which is limited. The first block 21 with which the frame 17 is connected slides along the first guide 28.
Since the first toothed wheel 22 of the gear 23 has a larger diameter than the second toothed wheel 24, with the same size of teeth and pitch between teeth, it is possible to facilitate an amplified movement and therefore the extraction of the frame 17 and of the extractable holder 14 in direction D is effectively ended, even if the slider 33 has a minimum stroke in the opposite direction T.
When the rotation of the front plate 13 in the direction R is completed, the situation will be as shown in fig. 2d and 3d, i.e. the frame 17 and the extractable bracket 14 are completely extracted.
It can be seen that the first end 42 of the cross arm 38 of the pantograph device 37 is located at the end of the second through slot 44 of the cam 36, while the second end 47 of the cross arm 38 is located inside and at the nearest end of the two grooves 46 formed in the plate 45. The pantograph device 37 is substantially in its maximum extended position and the support slider 33 is in a retracted, end-stroke position.
Advantageously, as can be seen in particular in fig. 3d, when the drawer 10 is fully open, the grip 54 is located substantially at the upper edge of the front plate 13, positioned at a lower level than the working plane P of the extractable bracket 14, on which the goods or objects to be displayed and possibly extracted are to be placed.
The support or work plane P is therefore completely free on the front side of the drawer 10.
To close the drawer 10, the above operations can be performed in reverse order, that is to say, starting from the condition shown in fig. 3d, the front plate 13 is rotated upwards, thus causing the cam 36 to be pushed towards the inside of the drawer 10, thanks to the action of the lever 49. The two first ends 42 of the cross arm 38 of the pantograph device 37 will be translated by the cam 36 along its second through slot 44, so that the first ends 42 are further away than this. At the same time, the second end 47 of the cross arm 38 of the pantograph device 37 will translate towards the outside of the groove 46 of the flat plate 45, substantially causing the movement of the support slider 33 in the direction of the front plate 13 and the movement of the frame 17 in the direction of the bottom wall 12 of the drawer 10. The pantograph arrangement 37 then returns to the position shown in figure 2 a. Also in the closing movement, when the first through slot 43 of the cam 36 engages the first end 42 of the pantograph device 37, the only effect is the closing rotation of the front plate 13. In fact, as seen in the opening sequence of the drawer 10, the frame 17 remains still when the first end 42 of the cross arm 38 of the pantograph device 37 is engaged by the first through slot 43 of the cam 36.
The drawer 10 according to the present invention, as described above, can be used in any field and can accommodate various types of objects. For example, the drawer 10 may be placed in a display window for optimal use, and items within it must be displayed efficiently and with the greatest degree of care, such as in a jewelry store or a cake store, which risks deterioration and damage if the goods are handled inadvertently.
Due to the fact that, once opened, said drawer 10 has a working or support plane P that is perfectly frontless and preferably constrained laterally, it will give the items contained therein excellent manoeuvrability as if they were actually placed on a table.
If the drawer 10 is used for a display window of a cake shop, for example, it is possible to efficiently and elegantly display goods and to remove them from the display window even for cakes, for example, without risking them deteriorating or dirtying the display window.
Furthermore, if the drawer 10 is used in a display window, it is also possible to provide a plurality of drawers 10 adjacent to each other, each having its own extractable support 14 and corresponding front panel 13.
It is clear that modifications and/or additions of parts may be made to the drawer as described heretofore, without departing from the field and scope of the present invention.
It is also clear that, although the present invention has been described with reference to some specific embodiments, a person of skill in the art shall certainly be able to achieve many other equivalent forms of drawer, having the characteristics as set forth in the claims and hence all coming within the field of protection defined thereby.
