Detailed Description
Referring to fig. 1 to 9, an electrical connector assembly 100 for connecting with a mother board (not shown) includes a first connector 1, a second connector 2, and a Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) 3 connected between the first connector 1 and the second connector 2. The first terminal set 20 is insert-molded to the first body 14, and the second terminal set 30 is insert-molded to the second body 15. The first terminal set 20 and the second terminal set 30 respectively include contact portions 21 and 31 at front ends and soldering legs 22 and 32 at rear ends. The contact portions 21 of the first terminal set 20 are arranged on the upper surface of the front tongue 121, and the soldering legs 22 extend backward out of the insulating body 10 and are arranged in a row. The contact portions 32 of the second terminal set 30 are arranged on the lower surface of the front tongue portion 121, and the soldering feet 32 extend backward out of the insulating body 10 and are also arranged in a row and are located below the soldering feet 22 of the first terminal set 20.

The first housing 50 and the second housing 60 are made of metal or non-metal material, the front end faces of the two tend to be aligned, the insulation body 10 is accommodated in the first housing 50, and the insulation body 10 partially protrudes backwards from the first housing 50 and the second housing 60. The first housing 50 is a hollow cylindrical structure with a front and a rear, and is provided with a plug hole 52, and the tongue plate 12 is located in the plug hole 52. The second housing 60 includes a housing portion 61 and fixing plates 62 protruding from left and right sides of the housing portion 61, the housing portion 61 is also configured as a front-rear hollow cylindrical structure, and is sleeved on the first housing 50, and the two are bonded, fixed and sealed by glue 63. The fixing plate 62 is configured as a horizontal plate-shaped structure and is higher than the bottom surface of the housing 61, and the fixing plate 62 is provided with a fixing hole 621 penetrating vertically for fixing the first connector 1 to a mother board or other positions by a screw (not shown).
Referring to fig. 8 and 9, the second connector 2 includes an insulating base 70 and a plurality of conductive terminals 72 accommodated in the insulating base 70, the top surface of the insulating base 70 is concavely provided with a mating hole 71, the conductive terminals 72 have mating portions 73 located in the mating hole 71 and horizontal soldering portions 74 arranged on the bottom surface of the insulating base 70, the soldering portions 74 are arranged in front and rear two rows, the soldering portions 74 of the front row are further protruded forward from the insulating base 70, and the soldering portions 74 of the rear row are further protruded backward from the insulating base 70.
Referring to fig. 6 to 7, the flexible circuit board 3 includes a first end 81 and a second end 82 opposite to each other end to end, a row of first soldering pads 811 is disposed on the upper surface of the first end 81, a row of second soldering pads 812 spaced apart from each other front and back is disposed on the upper surface of the second end 82, the first soldering pads 811 and the second soldering pads 812 are electrically connected through the connection traces 813 of the flexible circuit board 2, the rear soldering pads 74 are connected to the connection traces 813 through vias, and in other embodiments, the two rows of second soldering pads 812 are located on the lower surface of the flexible circuit board 3.
The first terminal 81 is clamped between the soldering pins 22 of the first terminal set 20, the tail portion 32 of the middle spacer 40 and the soldering pins 32 of the second terminal set 30, the soldering pins 22, 32, the tail portion 32 and the first soldering tab 811 are soldered together one by one, the second connector 2 is located at the second terminal 82, and the soldering portion 72 and the second soldering tab 812 are soldered together one by one, so that the first connector 1 is electrically connected with the second connector 2 through the flexible circuit board 3.
The second connector 2 is a board-to-board connector, and is convenient to butt with the board-to-board connector on the mother circuit board, and the flexible circuit board 3 has the characteristics of high wiring density, light weight, thin thickness, small occupied space, good bending property and the like, so that the position of the first connector 1 in the electronic equipment can be easily and conveniently changed, the requirements of various different installation heights (offsets) are met, a new die is not needed, the product types are favorably reduced, and the cost is reduced.
