Description

Front grille
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a front grill, and more particularly, to a front grill having a holding portion that holds a cover member that covers the front of an electronic device.
Background
In a vehicle such as an automobile, there is known a vehicle in which a radio wave radar (for example, a millimeter wave radar, a microwave radar, or the like) for measuring a vehicle-to-vehicle distance or a relative speed between the vehicle and a preceding vehicle is disposed on a rear side (vehicle body rear side) of an air intake port of a front grille. When a water film is formed on a transmission/reception surface of data by rainfall or the like, the radio wave radar has low detection accuracy, and therefore, it is necessary to prevent water or drip.
Conventionally, as a device for waterproofing or preventing dripping of a radio wave radar, for example, an in-vehicle antenna cover described in patent document 1 is known.
The vehicle-mounted antenna cover is provided with a drip-proof plate on the back side of a label attached to a grille cover (corresponding to a front grille). The drip-proof plate is provided in front of the millimeter-wave radar, and the plate body prevents water from entering from the front side.
The drip-proof fins project rearward from the plate body and are provided at both ends in the vehicle width direction of the peripheral edge of the rear surface of the plate body. The drip-proof fin prevents water from being wound around between the board main body and the millimeter-wave radar from the vehicle width direction side on the back surface of the sign. As a result, a water film can be prevented from being formed between the plate body and the millimeter wave radar.

Disclosure of Invention
Problems to be solved by the invention
In the conventional vehicle-mounted radome described above, although water can be prevented from bypassing between the panel body and the millimeter wave radar from the vehicle width direction side on the back surface of the signboard, there is no mention of the possibility that water enters between the panel body and the millimeter wave radar from the rear of the millimeter wave radar or the vertical direction of the vehicle.
Therefore, snow due to snowfall or water due to rainfall may intrude between the plate body and the millimeter wave radar from behind the millimeter wave radar or from the vertical direction of the vehicle, and the detection accuracy of the millimeter wave radar may be lowered when snow is accumulated between the plate body and the millimeter wave radar or when a water film is formed.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object thereof is to provide a front grill that can prevent snow or water droplets from accumulating between a cover member and an electronic device.
Means for solving the problems
A front grill according to the present invention is provided at a front portion of a vehicle and located forward with respect to an electronic device having a function of at least one of transmitting and receiving a signal to and from an outside of the vehicle, the front grill having a holding portion that holds a cover member that is transmissive to a signal transmitted between the electronic device and the outside, the holding portion having an opening that communicates a space between the electronic device and the cover member with the outside of the vehicle.
Effects of the invention
According to the present invention, snow or water droplets can be prevented from accumulating between the cover member and the electronic device.

Detailed Description
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the front grill according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
Fig. 1 to 8 are views showing a front grill according to an embodiment of the present invention.
First, the configuration is explained. In fig. 1 to 8, directions indicated by up, down, right, and left are directions when viewed from a driver's seat.
In fig. 1, a vehicle 1 includes a front member 2, and the front member 2 extends in a vehicle width direction at a front portion of the vehicle 1. The front member 2 is provided with a front grille 3, and the front grille 3 is positioned forward of the front member 2 and extends in the vehicle width direction.
The front grille 3 is formed with a plurality of air intake ports 3A for taking outside air to the rear of the front beam 2. A radiator, an internal combustion engine, or the like, not shown, is provided behind the front frame 2, and the air taken in from the air intake port 3A exchanges heat with a coolant flowing through the radiator, for example.
A millimeter wave radar 5 is mounted on the front beam 2 via a bracket 4. The millimeter wave radar 5 irradiates a millimeter wave radio wave to the front of the vehicle 1 and receives a radio wave reflected from an object, thereby measuring a distance to the object, a relative speed between the vehicle 1 (the vehicle) and the object, and the like, based on the intensity of the received radio wave, a time difference between the transmission radio wave and the reception radio wave, a frequency difference or a phase difference between the transmission radio wave and the reception radio wave, and the like.
In fig. 1 and 3, an opening 3B is formed in the center portion of the front grill 3 in the vehicle width direction, and a 6-sided radome holding portion 6 (see fig. 1 to 3) is provided on the front grill 3 around the opening 3B.
The radome 7 is fixed to the radome holding part 6 such that the radome 7 is fitted into the radome holding part 6, and the radome 7 includes a member that can transmit radio waves. In fig. 3 and 5, millimeter wave radar 5 is provided behind antenna cover 7, and antenna cover 7 overlaps millimeter wave data 5 in the front-rear direction of vehicle 1. The radome 7 protects the millimeter wave radar 5 from disturbance such as wind, rain, snow, sand, flying stones, and the like by covering the front of the millimeter wave radar 5.
In fig. 2 and 3, the radome holding portion 6 has a right inclined portion 6A and a left inclined portion 6B extending upward and leftward, respectively, from a vertically lowermost portion 6C. In fig. 2 to 4, openings 8A, 8B are formed in the right inclined portion 6A and the left inclined portion 6B, respectively, and the openings 8A, 8B communicate a space 9 (see fig. 5) between the millimeter wave radar 5 and the antenna cover 7 with the outside of the vehicle 1.
In fig. 3, openings 8A, 8B face one end 5a and the other end 5B of millimeter wave radar 5 in the vehicle width direction in the vertical direction of vehicle 1. The millimeter wave radar 5 of the present embodiment constitutes the electronic device of the present invention, and the radome holding part 6 constitutes the holding part of the present invention. The antenna cover 7 of the present embodiment constitutes a cover member of the present invention.
Next, the operation will be described.
The front grille 3 includes an upper grille, and when the vehicle 1 travels in an environment where snow or water (hereinafter, snow or water is referred to as foreign matter) falls into the rear of the vehicle 1 from below through an air intake port of the lower grille when the vehicle is traveling in a snowy or rainy environment under the front grille 3.
In fig. 5, when the foreign matter 10 intrudes from the lower grill, the foreign matter 10 may be accumulated between the millimeter wave radar 5 and the antenna cover 7 with the passage of time. As shown in fig. 6, when foreign matter 10 is deposited between millimeter wave radar 5 and antenna cover 7 (reference numeral 20 denotes the deposited foreign matter), radio wave 12 transmitted between millimeter wave radar 5 and object 11 via antenna cover 7 is refracted by foreign matter 20, and there is a possibility that millimeter wave radar 5 may not operate normally.
The front grille 3 of the present embodiment has a radome holding portion 6, the radome holding portion 6 holding a radome 7 transmittable by a signal transmitted between the millimeter wave radar 5 and the outside, the radome holding portion 6 having openings 8A, 8B communicating a space 9 between the millimeter wave radar 5 and the radome 7 with the outside of the vehicle 1.
Thereby, the airflow 13 that moves from below to above in the space 9 between the millimeter wave radar 5 and the antenna cover 7 through the openings 8A, 8B can be generated. Therefore, as shown in fig. 5, the foreign matter 10 flowing from below toward the millimeter wave radar 5 can be prevented from staying in the space 9 by the airflow 13. Further, the foreign matter 10 can be removed from the space 9 by causing the airflow 13 to collide with the foreign matter 10 that has entered the space 9 from below.
Thus, the foreign matter 10 can be prevented from accumulating in the space 9 between the antenna cover 7 and the millimeter wave radar 5. As a result, as shown in fig. 7, the radio wave 12 transmitted between the millimeter wave radar 5 and the object 11 through the antenna cover 7 can be prevented from being refracted, and the detection accuracy of the millimeter wave radar 5 can be prevented from being lowered.
In addition, the front grille 3 of the present embodiment can form the airflow 13 in the space 9 between the antenna cover 7 and the millimeter wave radar 5, and therefore, in the case where foreign matter intrudes from behind the millimeter wave radar 5, it is possible to prevent the foreign matter from accumulating in the space 9 between the antenna cover 7 and the millimeter wave radar 5.
Further, in the case where the front grill 3 constitutes a lower grill and the upper grill is provided above the front grill 3, foreign matter enters from the air intake port of the upper grill above, but in this case, it is also possible to prevent foreign matter from accumulating in the space 9 between the radome 7 and the millimeter wave radar 5 by the airflow 13 generated in the space 9 between the radome 7 and the millimeter wave radar 5.
Further, according to the front grille 3 of the present embodiment, the radome holding portion 6 has a right inclined portion 6A and a left inclined portion 6B extending upward and leftward from the lowermost portion 6C in the vertical direction, and openings 8A and 8B are formed in the right inclined portion 6A and the left inclined portion 6B, respectively.
The openings 8A, 8B face one end 5a and the other end 5B of the millimeter wave radar 5 in the vehicle width direction in the vertical direction of the vehicle 1.
As a result, as shown by the broken lines in fig. 3, a flow of the air flow 13 flowing in from the opening 8A from below the one end portion 5a of the millimeter wave data 5 toward above the other end portion 5B and a flow of the air flow 13 flowing in from the opening 8B from below the other end portion 5B of the millimeter wave data 5 toward above the other end portion 5a can be generated.
Therefore, the airflow 13 can be made to flow over the entire surface of the millimeter wave radar 5 from the openings 8A, 8B in the space 9 between the millimeter wave radar 5 and the antenna cover 7. Therefore, the flow of air can be generated without omission in the entire space 9 between the millimeter wave radar 5 and the radome 7 without increasing the area of the openings 8A, 8B. Further, in fig. 3, the airflow 13 is schematically described, but in practice the airflow 13 flows over the entire face of the millimeter wave radar 5.
As a result, it is possible to prevent foreign objects having large shapes other than snow or water from entering through the openings 8A, 8B, and more effectively prevent snow from accumulating in the space 9 between the antenna cover 7 and the millimeter wave radar 5 or a water film from forming in the space 9.
Further, in the front grill 3 of the present embodiment, the 1 opening 8A and the 1 opening 8B are formed in the radome holding part 6 having a relatively large area, but not limited thereto. For example, as shown in fig. 8, openings including a plurality of small holes 14A and 14B having a smaller diameter than the openings 8A and 8B may be formed in the right inclined portion 6A and the left inclined portion 6B.
With this configuration, snow or water is less likely to enter the space 9 between the antenna cover 7 and the millimeter wave radar 5 through the small holes 14A and 14B. Further, the small holes 14A and 14B having small diameters can generate an air flow having a speed higher than that of the air taken into the space 9 from the openings 8A and 8B.
This can more effectively prevent snow from accumulating in the space 9 between the antenna cover 7 and the millimeter wave radar 5 or a water film from forming in the space 9.
The electronic device of the present embodiment is not limited to the millimeter wave radar 5, and may be a microwave radar. Further, not limited to the radar, for example, a sensor that emits an ultrasonic wave as a signal and receives an ultrasonic wave as a signal reflected from an object to measure a distance to the object, a relative speed with respect to the vehicle, or the like may be used.
Further, a laser radar may be used which emits a laser beam such as infrared light as a signal and measures a distance to an object, a relative speed with respect to the vehicle, or the like from a time until a reflected light (signal) from the object is received.
The electronic device may be an electronic device having only a function of transmitting a signal to the front of the vehicle, or may be an electronic device having only a function of receiving a signal from the front of the vehicle. That is, the electronic device of the present embodiment is not particularly limited as long as it has at least 1 function of transmitting and receiving a signal.
Although embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed, it is apparent that modifications can be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the present invention. All such modifications and equivalents are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
