该发明是这样的：保险柜1内，连接有齿条7，齿条上有棱齿5，齿条上的第一棱齿被第一套叉3套着，并且套叉的一边着底时，另一边刚好越过棱齿；套叉呈口字型，套叉有一对边的两端有柄，其中一端的柄与保险柜内表面连接，另一端的柄与锁连接，锁的锁孔8伸出保险柜露在外面；齿条上的第二棱齿被第二套叉2套着，并且套叉的一边着底时，另一边刚好越过棱齿；套叉呈口字型，套叉有一对边的两端有柄，其中一端的柄与保险柜内表面连接，另一端的柄与锁连接，锁的锁孔6伸出保险柜露在外面；齿条的一端与一插杆连接；保险柜门边有插孔4，并与齿条上的插杆相对应。
工作原理，由于套叉的一边着底时，另一边刚好套过棱齿，因而当套叉与齿条面平行时，能套着棱齿，使之不会左右移动。只有电机转动时才会移动。且同一个齿条上有两个套叉，两个套叉对应两个锁孔和两把不同的钥匙，当第一套叉转动开启时，第二套叉却不动，因而无论如何也打不开；只有两个套叉同时转动时，才能使齿条移动，从而使插杆抽出门边的插孔。从而开门。同理，当两个套叉同时反向转动，齿条上的插杆才能插入插孔，从而锁门。按齿原理，可以设计多个锁孔，多个人才能开。
由于采用上述设计，使得鸳鸯锁一个人无法，必须要两个人或两个人以上才能开启。
