Description

Method for sending paging message, base station controller and base transceiver station
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of communications, and in particular, to a method for sending a paging message, a base station controller, and a base transceiver station.
Background
In GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication), many services in the circuit domain and the packet domain are initiated by a paging procedure, and paging is a very common procedure. When a BSS (Base Station subsystem) receives paging from an MSC (mobile switching Center) and an SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node), it needs to distribute a paging message to all cells covered by a location area or a routing area in the paging message, so that each paging from a core network (MSC or SGSN) forms many paging messages at an Abis interface, so that a terminal can correctly receive the paging message.
Due to the frequency of paging messages, the occupation of Abis bandwidth is much larger than that of other messages, and the Abis bandwidth is a relatively limited resource, for example, when the Abis interface is used and carried by a satellite link, the use cost of the Abis bandwidth is greatly increased.
When the telephone traffic is high, the paging message is increased sharply, the occupation of the paging message on the Abis bandwidth is increased by times, and if the bandwidth is insufficient, the initiation and the establishment of the service are influenced. In order to guarantee the initiation and establishment of the service, the existing technology can increase the Abis bandwidth to guarantee the service under the condition, and in some cases, the bandwidth cannot be increased all the time and is limited by the network transmission condition and the like. When the bandwidth is increased, the corresponding cost is inevitably increased; after the bandwidth is increased, although the requirement of the peak traffic volume can be met, the problem of low bandwidth utilization rate can be faced. The use cost of the bandwidth, the bandwidth utilization rate and the service establishment success rate are mutually restricted, and how to reduce the bandwidth and improve the bandwidth utilization rate and ensure the service establishment success rate becomes very difficult.
When the telephone traffic is high, the Abis bandwidth increase is limited by network transmission conditions and the like; even if the bandwidth can be increased infinitely, there is a problem that the bandwidth utilization efficiency is low.

Detailed Description
In order to solve the problem that in the prior art, when the traffic volume is high, the Abis bandwidth increase is limited by the network transmission condition and the like, and even if the bandwidth can be increased infinitely, the bandwidth utilization efficiency is low, the invention provides a method for sending a paging message, a base station controller and a base transceiver station, and the invention is further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings and embodiments. It should be understood that the specific embodiments described herein are merely illustrative of the invention and do not limit the invention.
An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for sending a paging message, where a flow of the method is shown in fig. 1, and the method includes steps S102 to S106:
s102, receiving the paging message from the core network, and caching the paging message. In this process, a plurality of paging messages are received, and all the received paging messages are buffered.
And S104, grouping all the cached paging messages according to the content types under the condition that the cached paging message processing conditions reach preset conditions. In the process, whether the cached paging message processing condition reaches a preset condition is judged, if so, the paging message is subjected to subsequent processing, namely grouping operation, and if not, the received paging message is continuously cached.
S106, coding each group of paging messages according to a preset coding rule, and sending the coded paging messages.
The embodiment of the invention directly caches the messages when receiving the paging messages from the core network, and groups all the paging messages when the processing conditions of the cached paging messages meet the preset conditions, and then codes and transmits the paging messages according to the groups, and the number of the coded paging messages is small, so that more paging messages can be efficiently transmitted without increasing the Abis bandwidth, the bandwidth utilization rate is obviously increased, the problem that the Abis bandwidth is increased and limited by network transmission conditions and the like when the telephone traffic is high is solved, and the problem of low bandwidth utilization efficiency exists even if the bandwidth can be infinitely increased.
In the implementation process, in order to further improve the efficiency in the subsequent grouping process, when the paging message is received, the paging message may be cached according to the large category of the paging message, for example, the circuit domain paging message and the packet domain paging message are cached respectively.
In the processing, the processing conditions may include various kinds, for example, judgment according to time, judgment according to the number of messages, and the like. When the receiving amount of the paging messages is large in a short time, whether grouping is performed or not can be determined by considering the message number, and when the receiving amount of the paging messages is small in a short time, whether grouping is performed or not can be determined by considering the time in order to avoid the retention of the paging messages.
After grouping, each group of paging messages is encoded according to a predetermined encoding rule. In the implementation, because each group is the same type of paging message, the same parts of the plurality of paging messages in each group can be integrated uniformly, and the different parts of the plurality of paging messages in each group are respectively sorted; and then the unified integration part and the respectively-arranging part are encoded into a paging message to be sent. After the transmission, the receiving end decodes the received paging message according to the decoding rule corresponding to the coding rule; and sending the decoded paging message to the user.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The embodiment of the invention provides a method for sending paging messages, which can reduce the number of paging sent by an Abis port and reduce the occupation of Abis bandwidth when the number of paging from a core network (MSC or SGSN) is not changed, and specifically comprises the following steps:
(a) the BSC buffers a certain number of paging messages for a certain time when receiving paging messages from a core network (MSC or SGSN).
(b) After buffering part of the paging message, the BSC classifies the paging according to the content of the paging, and the paging with the same content is divided into a group.
(C) And after the paging message grouping is finished, coding the paging messages of each group in sequence, and sending the coded messages to the BTS through the Abis link.
(d) After receiving the paging message, each BTS decodes according to the coding mode of the paging message, and sends each paging message to the terminal after decoding.
Further, in the step (a), the circuit domain paging and the packet domain paging are cached respectively; the time length of the paging message can be set; the number of buffered paging messages may be set. In step (b), circuit domain paging with the same content is put into the same group except the user identification code information according to the same necessary options and selectable options in the message when the circuit domain paging is processed; when the paging of the packet domain is processed, the circuit domain paging with the same content is put into the same group except the user identification code information according to the same necessary options and selectable items in the message. In step (c), the combined paging message group may include information of a plurality of terminals to be paged, and when the paging message is encoded, the paging message group is encoded into one or more paging messages. In step (d), after receiving the paging message, the BTS performs a decoding operation on the content thereof to identify a portion thereof which may contain a plurality of terminal information; if the message contains a plurality of terminal information, storing and sending the terminal information one by one; if the message only has one piece of terminal information, the message can be directly sent.
Therefore, the method of the invention combines a plurality of paging messages, and compared with the prior art, reduces the number of paging messages required to be sent by an Abis port and reduces the occupation of Abis bandwidth; under the condition that the Abis bandwidth is not changed, the use efficiency of the Abis bandwidth is improved, and the use cost of the Abis bandwidth unit is reduced; when the telephone traffic is increased rapidly, more services can be ensured to be established, and the stability of the system is improved; the success rate of service establishment and the bandwidth utilization rate can be improved, and the unit use cost of the bandwidth is reduced.
The following describes the embodiments of the present invention in further detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
In the GSM system, a paging procedure is initiated in order to find a called terminal. When the BSC receives a page from the core network (MSC or SGSN), the page is sent to all cells under the location area (or routing area) or a certain area within a specified range according to the content of the page, and finally the page message is sent to the terminal through the BTS, as shown in fig. 5.
In the above process, if the paging message sent by the BSC to the BTS includes a plurality of terminal information, the number of paging messages on the Abis link is reduced, the occupation of the Abis bandwidth is reduced, and the Abis bandwidth utilization efficiency is improved.
In order to implement the above processing manner, as shown in fig. 6, the method of this embodiment includes the following relevant modules by the BSC: a packing Buffer Pool module (Buffer storage module), a packing Merge module (merging module), a packing Encode module (encoding module), and a Send module (sending module). Wherein: the Paging Buffer Pool module is configured to Buffer a Paging message from a core network (MSC and SGSN), as shown in fig. 7, and includes steps S701 to S705.
S701, judging whether the paging buffer switch is turned on or not. If so, S702 is performed, otherwise S705 is performed. When the paging buffer switch is turned on, the functions of buffering and coding retransmission are started, and when the paging buffer switch is not turned on, the processing is carried out according to the existing normal flow.
S702, when the paging buffer switch is opened, the type of the paging message is judged, and the circuit domain (CS) paging and the packet domain (PS) paging are respectively stored according to the type and the source of the paging message.
S703, whether the paging number reaches the number threshold or not is respectively detected corresponding to the paging messages of different types. If so, S704 is executed, otherwise, it is continuously monitored whether the paging number reaches the number threshold.
S704, under the condition that the number of the cached pages reaches the corresponding threshold, the number of the module cache is delivered to the Paging Merge module for processing.
S705, packing Encode processing.
Besides the above processing strategy, a Paging buffer timer may be set inside the BSC, and after the timer expires, the Paging message buffered during the period is delivered to the Paging Merge module for processing. The processing can ensure that the paging is processed in time in a short time, and the speed of issuing the paging is not influenced. If the Paging buffer switch is closed, the Paging message is directly delivered to the Paging Encode module for processing and then is sent to the BTS through the Send module. The configuration parameters related to the packing Buffer Pool module are shown in table 1 (packing Buffer Pool module configuration parameters).

The Paging Merge module is configured to process a group of cached Paging messages, and a processing flow is shown in fig. 8. The CS paging processing is as follows: if the cell identification table information is the same in CS paging and the user identification code information is not the same, such CS paging is considered to be possible to combine. The PS paging processing is as follows: if the quality of service characteristics are the same in PS paging and the subscriber identity information is not the same, such PS paging is considered to be possible to combine.
In a type of paging information, if the paging number does not exceed the paging merging upper limit, directly merging the type of paging; if the paging number exceeds the upper paging combination limit, the paging in the upper paging combination limit is combined, the rest number of the paging judges whether the paging number exceeds the upper paging combination limit, and the operation is repeated in a circulating mode until all the paging combinations are completed. Finally, the combined Paging information is processed by a Paging Encode module. The configuration parameters related to the PagingMerge module are shown in table 2(PagingMerge module configuration parameters).

And the Send module is used for sending the paging message after the coding is finished to the BTS.
In order to implement the above processing manner, the method of this embodiment includes the following relevant modules of the BTS: a packing Decode module and a Send module. Wherein: the Paging Decode module is used for decoding a Paging message from the BSC. The paging message processing mode is as follows: BTS carries on the reverse decoding according to BSC to the coding mode of the paging message at first, the order of decoding and according to consulting the content of above-mentioned table 3 and table 4; after the message is decoded, the message can be determined to contain several pieces of user identification code information, and the user identification information and other public information in the paging are recombined and are delivered to a Send module for processing.
And the Send module of the BTS is used for processing the sending of the paging message. The paging message processing mode is as follows: calculating a paging group and a paging sub-channel to which the user identification code belongs according to the user identification code information in the paging message, and sending the paging message to a terminal through an air interface when the paging sub-channel to which the paging group belongs is reached; this process reciprocates pages until all pages are sent.
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, and the scope of the invention should not be limited to the embodiments described above.
