With the rapid development of Software Defined Networking (SDN), more and more Network devices evolve towards SDN Network architecture. The Netconf protocol has a series of advantages, such as strong expansibility, simple communication mechanism, and use of a layered structure, but the Netconf protocol has defects in multi-device and multi-version compatibility management. According to the standard requirement of the Netconf protocol, a receiver (equipment host) of the Netconf protocol can strictly check a received message, if the message received by the receiver (equipment host) contains a field which is not supported by the receiver (equipment host), the receiver (equipment host) can report an error, so that a message initiator (SDN server) needs to identify a Netconf interface definition supported by the receiver (equipment host) and issue a message according to the interface definition supported by the receiver (equipment host), and the SDN server needs to set corresponding interface messages for network equipment of different equipment types and different version models; however, if the SDN server needs to manage a large number of network devices of different device types and different version models, the management complexity, development workload, and maintenance workload of the SDN server are inevitably increased.
