Abstract

Embodiments include a method, system, and computer program product for allocating data to storage in a network. A data item accessed by a server in the network is identified. A controller classifies the identified data item based on at least one of: a frequency of access requests for the data item by the server and an access time associated with providing the data item to the server once the server requests the data item. A memory of a switch in the network is selected for storing the data item based on the classification of the data item. The controller causes the data item to be stored in the memory of the switch, from which the data item is accessed by the server upon request.

Description

By data allocations to the method and system of the storage in network
Technical field
The present invention relates generally to computing technique, the data particularly related in network store.
Background technology
Data center can be configured to process a large amount of or multireel data.Such as, the node of server and the data needed for the part that can be stored as process or queue can be coupled.Storing data in node can be " heat " or " superthermal " data-can be the data that server is frequent and need within the short access time, to allow server execution distribute to its all tasks and function. In this regard, this node can be used as the high-speed cache of server data.On the contrary, the data (so-called " cold " data) that server infrequently can be needed or do not need rapidly are stored on the place away from server.
Under the background of deal with data, the problem relevant with the availability of data may become the bottleneck of network performance.Such as, when the request that server receives or the speed of task high, with not reducing performance for those request services from node/high-speed cache are unpractical.
Summary of the invention
Embodiment comprises data allocations to the method for the storage in network, system and computer program. The data item of the server access in recognition network.Controller is according to following at least one classification institute identification data item: server to the frequency of the access request of data item and with once server request data item just to the access time that server provides data item relevant.According to the memory being categorized as the switch in storing data item selection network of data item. This controller makes store data items in the memory of switch, and server is according to asking from its visit data item.
Embodiment
According to one or more embodiment, system, the apparatus and method in the accumulation layer frequent visit data being stored in the network switch (such as, layer 2 or 3 network switch) are described.Controller and multilayered memory access system are coordinated and managed and accumulation layer in net control switch. The frequent visit data of this controller identification, selects to store the switch of data, and with other controller coordinate of network. The data be stored in the network switch are unique from the meaning of the unique instance being data available. In other words, the data be stored in the network switch are not the backup or the copy that are used simply as the data be stored on another place.
