技术领域
本发明的目标是一种用于通过有线电视网络终端控制数据网络接入参数的方法和系统。
背景技术
存在服务器和大量通信终端由单个实体拥有并且多个用户通过网络所有者的许可来使用所述实体的已知通信网络,例如,在酒店设施中的有线电视网络。此类有线网络可为用户提供各种额外服务,如数据网络(例如,因特网)接入。
可使得数据网络接入可以通过有线电视终端的专用接口如以太网接口或无线接口接入到其它设备,如用户自己的膝上型计算机。
期望提供一种允许在有线电视网络中控制数据网络接入参数的方法和系统。
发明内容
本发明的目标是一种用于在有线电视系统中通过有线电视网络终端控制数据网络接入参数的计算机实现的方法,所述有线电视系统包括将数据网络接入提供至多个终端的前端基础结构,其中数据网络接入参数由网络参数控制器控制,所述方法的特征在于所述方法包括以下步骤:为数据网络接入控制器提供问题数据库,从所述问题数据库中选择问题,将所述问题呈现给终端的用户并通过终端收集答案;以及取决于所接收的答案,将来自数据网络接入控制器的指令发送至网络参数控制器,以调整数据网络接入参数。

具体实施方式
根据本发明的系统针对有线电视网络,如酒店设施中的有线网络。此类网络包括前端基础结构110,所述前端基础结构包括用于将包括音频/视频内容(如电视节目和/或视频点播内容)与数据(如因特网数据)的混合的数据传输至有线网络的有线网络通信接口111。
来自前端基础结构的数据由多个有线网络终端120接收,所述有线网络终端诸如具有集成有线电视调谐器、机顶盒(STB)或机背盒(SBB)的电视机。有线网络终端120具有数据接口121,通过所述数据接口,用户终端140(如膝上型计算机)可以获得对数据网络的接入。数据接口121可以是有线接口(如以太网)或无线接口(如WiFi)。
系统进一步包括用于执行图2中所示的方法的数据网络接入控制器130。数据网络接入控制器可以是单独的模块,如专用计算机,或者可被实现为前端基础结构的一部分。
数据网络接入控制器130包括问题数据库131。问题数据库131可以是针对系统用户的问题的数据库。问题数据库131被配置来向用户问问题、收集答案并且确定答案是否正确。如果答案满足特定准则(如来自列表的条目的正确选择),则答案可被分类为是正确的。或者,对于与例如条目得分(如酒店设施中服务质量在范围1-10中的得分)有关的开放性问题来说,任何答案均可被分类为是正确的。
前端基础结构110进一步包括网络参数控制器112,所述网络参数控制器设定给定终端的网络接入参数。在一个示例性实施例中,网络参数控制器112可取决于所述终端的问题数据库131的输出将网络数据传送速度设定为低速(例如,128kbps)或高速(例如,10Mbps)。其它网络接入参数可包括:网络接入时间,所述网络接入时间可以是短时间(例如,15分钟)或长时间(例如,1小时或无限接入);或数据可用性,所述数据可用性可以是有限的(限于特定因特网网站)或无限的(限于所有网络网站)。数据接入参数在前端基础结构110与特定电缆终端120之间的链路上可能是有限的,或者特定电缆终端120的数据接口121可得到指示以相应地调整数据接口的参数。
网络接入由接入控制应用程序132控制,所述接入控制应用程序根据如下文解释的图2的程序进行操作。
首先,接入控制应用程序在步骤201中从问题数据库选择问题。随后,在步骤202中,接入控制应用程序将问题呈现给终端用户,即,接入控制应用程序将问题通过有线网络发送至终端120。所述问题可以是单个问题或一组问题。接下来,在步骤203中,接入控制应用程序确定所述问题(或一组问题)是否已得到回答。
这可涉及检查答案是否正确或仅仅检查用户是否对问题做出响应。如果问题已得到回答,则在步骤204中,网络参数控制器112得到指示以改进特定终端的特定参数(如速度、接入持续时间或数据可用性)。如果问题没有得到回答,则在步骤205中,网络参数控制器112得到指示以保持或减少用户的网络接入参数。
图2的程序可在以下情况下执行:
-在有线网络终端通电后(例如,在酒店客人使电视机供电时)
-应用户请求(例如,在用户确定网络接入参数过低时)
-周期性地(例如,每小时)
本领域技术人员可容易地认识到,用于进行交互式调查的前述方法可通过一个或多个计算机程序进行和/或控制。此类计算机程序通常通过利用设备的计算资源来执行。计算机程序可以存储在非易失性存储器(或非暂态计算机存储介质)例如闪存存储器中或易失性存储器例如RAM中,并且由处理单元执行。这些存储器是用于存储计算机程序的示例性记录介质,所述计算机程序包括进行根据本文所呈现的技术概念的计算机实现的方法的所有步骤的计算机可执行指令。

Claims (6)

1.一种用于在有线电视系统中通过有线电视网络终端(120)控制数据网络接入参数的计算机实现的方法,所述有线电视系统包括将数据网络接入提供至多个终端(120)的前端基础结构(110),其中所述数据网络接入参数由所述前端基础结构(110)的网络参数控制器(112)控制,所述方法的特征在于所述方法包括以下步骤:
为数据网络接入控制器(130)提供问题数据库(131);
从所述问题数据库(131)中选择(201)问题;
将所述问题呈现(202)给所述终端(120)的用户并通过所述终端(120)收集答案;以及
取决于所接收的答案,将来自所述数据网络接入控制器(130)的指令发送至所述网络参数控制器(112),以调整(204,205)所述数据网络接入参数;
其中,所述问题数据库(131)是针对系统使用者的问题的资料库;
其中,所述问题数据库(131)被配置来向使用者问问题、收集答案并且确定答案是否正确;
其中,所述调整(204,205)所述数据网络接入参数包括以下步骤:
如果问题已得到回答,则网络参数控制器(112)得到指示以改进特定终端的特定参数;
如果问题没有得到回答,网络参数控制器(112)得到指示以保持或减少用户的网络接入参数。
