The method may comprise: receiving, at an IWF (Internet Working Function) network node, a Mobility Application Part Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (MAP USSD) message identifying a User Equipment (UE) originated from a USSD application, the UE associated with a first Mobile Switching Center (MSC); initiating Circuit Switched Fallback (CSFB) by sending a paging request to the UE; receiving a Cancel Location message associated with the UE from a Home Location Register (HLR) indicative of the UE being associated with a second MSC; forwarding the MAP USSD message to the UE via the HLR and the second MSC; receiving a MAP USSD response message from the UE via the HLR; and forwarding the MAP USSD response message to the USSD application.
Description
Field
Disclosure case relates to field of telecommunications, particularly relates to the network interconnection for circuit switched fallback.
Background
At present, the not support voice calling of Long Term Evolution (LTE) system, therefore for these callings perform by the circuit switched fallback (Circuit Switched Fallback:CSFB) of 3GPP standard TS23.272 defined.Realize by the interface between the MME (mobile management entity) in EPS and VLR (visitor location register) being reused the Gs interface mechanism defined in 3GPP TS 29.018 via the CS Backward Function of CS core network and SMS (short-message system) Message Transmission. This interface is called as SGs interface.
Such as, strengthen network in case on LTE radio paging mobile device, and when the mobile device on LTE radio receives voice call page request by LTE system, mobile device rollback to CS radio to receive audio call.Together with CSFB, the data session of any activity is suspended or is switched to 2G/3G PS (packet switching) access. For mobile originating (MO) calling, the mobile device on LTE radio or subscriber equipment (UE) oneself initiate rollback, to start audio call in the cs domain. The mobile device of camping on LTE radio can send without the need to rollback and receive SMS message.Basic conception forces UE rollback to CS radio to carry out the audio call of non-VoLTE (the upper voice of LTE).In order to perform CSFB, between MME (mobile management entity) and MSC/VLR (mobile switching centre/visitor location register), need the new interface being called SGs, learn that to allow MSC when attached by EPC (evolution block core) UE is.MSC/VLR, as usual to HLR (attaching position register) registration, makes Mobile Termination (MT) audio call and SMS message be routed to there. In these cases, MO/MT SMS message is passed in LTE access and EPC via MSC.For MO calling, UE rollback before originating call, to CS radio, therefore changes without any need for core network. For MT calling, calling is passed to MSC as usual, and MSC carrys out paging UE via the new SGs interface between MME and MSC.UE rollback is to CS radio and send location updating or page response.MSC completes calling. If UE rollback is to the MSC different from the MSC sending SGs paging, then need complicated " roaming retry " process to complete calling. That is, this process need new interface and the existing node revised in each of LTE and C/S system.New SGs interface is needed between MME in MSC and EPC in CS core network.SGs makes MSC learn, and EPC is attached, the MO/MT SMS of EPC attached period, and make MSC in EPC and LTE access paging subscriber to carry out audio call.As for modified node, the state machine that MSC needs SGs interface and is associated.MME needs SGs interface also to revise the state machine be associated, and if enable the S3 interface that ISR (minimizing of idle pulley signaling) then needs SGSN.MSC/HLR/GMSC all needs to change to support roaming retry, and CSFB makes roaming retry more possible.

Fig. 3 A and 3B illustrates that some realize the call flow 300 for performing CSFB according to disclosure case.In call flow 300, if the band of position of new community is different from the band of position stored in UE 108, then the RA/LA renewal process of UE 108 enable position area update or combination.CSFBIWF is assigned LAI, and the LAI in this LAI and 2G/3G space is mutually exclusive, and UE 108 always enable position area update is forced in 2G/3G space. In idle mode, MME 126 sends paging request to eNodeB 114, and eNodeB 114 sends this request to UE 108 again.MME 126, after receiving expansion service request from UE 108, sends service request to CSFB IWF 102.In active mode, MME 126 directly sends CS paging request to UE 108, because its built vertical S 1 connects.MME126, after sending paging request to UE 108, and then sends service request to CSFB IWF 102.In some implementations, service indicator can be set to " CS call indicator " by CSFB IWF 102 in SGAP-PAGING-REQUEST (SGAP-paging-request) message.CSFB IWF 102 can identify this designator when receiving MAP PRM message from HLR 120.CSFB IWF102 may not comprise at SGAP-PAGINGREQUEST with properties, because these attributes possibility unavailable (such as, LCS client identity, LCS designator).MSC/VLR 122 may not receive service request information from CSFB IWF 102.3GPP TS 23.272 represents, service request information can be used as trigger and is being in progress to notify this calling to calling party and starting CFNRy timer.CSFB IWF 102 can follow standard procedure and carry out notification call progress.Once UE rollback to GERAN/U-TRAN and calling set up there, call progress just can be triggered by normal processes.Once CSFB IWF 102 receives SGsAP-SERVICEREQUEST (SGsAP-service request) from MME 122, it can send paging retry subsequently.2G/3G BSC/MSC may not respond from UE 108 paging receiving, because its always executing location area update after moving from E-UTRAN 114.MAP CANCELLOCATION (MAP canceling position) is sent to old MSC (being CSFBIWF 102 in this situation) to process the MAP UPDATE LOCATION (MAP upgrades position) from new MSC/VLR 122 by HLR 120 concurrently.CSFB IWF 102 may not wait for that MAP UPDATE LOCATION process (this process comprises one or more MAP INSERT SUBSCRIBER DATA (MAP inserts subscriber data) message) to complete before transmission MAP CANCEL LOCATION.MAP UPDATE LOCATION process from the new MSC/VLR 122 in HLR 120 place and the MAP SRI process from CSFB IWF 102 can walk abreast generation, or occur at least in combination.CSFB IWF 102 may not know when new UPDATE LOCATION completes and do not carry out wait and MAP SRI is sent to HLR 120.The triggering making CSFB IWF 102 send MAP SRI can be receive MAP CANCEL LOCATION.HLR 120 can wait for, until complete in the MAP SRI message of process from CSFB IWF102 from the MAP UPDATE LOCATION of new MSC/VLR 122.Substantially, CSFB IWF 102 can wait for that MAPUPDATE LOCATION process to complete before sending MAP PRN message to new MSC/VLR 122.CSMT mark may not support by 2G/3G MSC/VLR, if therefore it is received from UE 108 in LOCATION UPDATE message, this parameter can be ignored.Due to this, the rear line release SCCP that MSC/VLR 122 can complete at position area update procedures connects.HLR can send IMSI and MSISDN to CSFB IWF 102 in MAP PRN message.CSFB IWF 102 can be relayed to HLR 120 for initial call when the errored response receiving MAP SRI request in PRN response.CSFB IWF 102 can comprise in the MAP SRI request being sent to HLR 120 and suppress T-CSI parameter.CSFB IWF 102 can ignore the substantially all service instructions from HLR 120 in MAP SRI responds. If can support to switch (that is, the switching of alive packets session) the RAT from E-UTRAN 114 to UMTS/GSM, then MME 126 can be direct mutual with SGSN as specified in 3GPP TS 23.401.CSFB IWF 102 may not be related in these processes.By calling station area update procedures when subscriber moves to UTRAN/GERAN from E-UTRAN 14, compared with standard C SFB call attempt, CSFB architecture can introduce additional postdialing delay. The LI of MT calling can be managed everywhere at 2G/3G MSC/VLR 122.In this case, may not need to roam retry procedure in this CSFB IWF architecture.
In some implementations, MME 126 can send SGsAP-PAGING-REJECT (SGsAP-paging-refusal) message to CSFB IWF 102, and the corresponding actions at CSFB IWF place. If UE 108 is known and be regarded as EPS service being that IMSI is attached and " only SMS ", MME 126 can return SGsAP-PAGING-REJECT message, and this message indicates in SGs cause information element " the CS rollback calling of Mobile Termination is refused by user ".CSFB IWF 102 can send MAP PRN RESPONSE to HLR 120, and wherein user error is set to " facility is not supported ".If UE 108 is known and be marked as that IMSI is separated for EPS service or non-EPS service be marked as to IMSI (implicit expression or explicit) is separated, namely, the state of SGs association is SGs-sky (SGs-NULL (SGs-is empty)), MME 126 can return SGsAPPAGING-REJECT message, and this message indicates the situation of separation (" be that IMSI be separated for EPS service ", " be IMSI separation for non-EPS service " or " be IMSI implicit detach for non-EPS service ") in SGs cause information element.CSFB IWF 102 can send MAP PRN RESPONSE to HLR 120, and wherein user error is set to " subscriber do not identified ".If UE 108 is unknown and " MME replacement " is set as "false", MME 126 can return SGsAP-PAGING-REJECT message, indicates IMSI unknown in SGs cause information element.CSFB IWF 102 can send MAP PRN RESPONSE to HLR 120, and wherein user error is set to " unknown subscriber ".If UE 108 unknown and " MME replacement " be set as "True" and for EPS service be considered to be IMSI attached and " only SMS ", then MME 126 can return SGsAP-PAGING-REJECT message, in SGs cause information element, indicate " the CS rollback of Mobile Termination is refused by user ".CSFB IWF 102 can send MAP PRNRESPONSE to HLR 120, and wherein user error is set to " facility is not supported ".If UE 108 is marked as unreachable as being set as indicated by "false" in paging process tag, MME 126 can return SGsAP-UEUNREACHABLE message, in SGs cause information element, indicate " UE is unreachable ".CSFB IWF 102 is when receiving SGsAP-UE-UNREACHABLE (SGsAP-UE-is unreachable) message from MME 126, CSFB IWF 102 can send MAP PRNRESPONSE (MAP PRN responds) message, and wherein user error is set as " without subscriber's response ".CSFB IWF 102 can be converted to suitable SGs state based on the Reason For Denial in paging refuse information. If UE 108 fails to find GERAN/UTRAN radio when CS rollback is attempted, then call attempt may failure. In this case, HLR 120 possibility waiting-timeout responds from the PRN of CSFB IWF102.
Fig. 4 illustrates the flow chart 400 of exemplary method realizing for performing CSFB according to some of disclosure case.
Method 400 starts from step 402, wherein receives PRN request from HLR.Such as, the CSFB IWF 102 in Fig. 1 can receive PRN request from HLR 120, and this PRN asks the MSISDN of mark UE108.In step 404, store IMSI and ask identified MSIDN by PRN.In this embodiment, CSFB IWF 102 can store IMSI and ask identified MSIDN by PRN.Then, in step 406, by the MME paging UE in LTE system to upgrade position by CS network.About this example, CSFB IWF 102 can send paging to UE 108 to MME 126.In step 408, together with location updating, receive canceling position (CL) request based on assigning new MSC to UE from HLR.Equally in this embodiment, HLR 120 can assign MSC/VLR 122 based on HLR 120 to UE 108 and send CL request to CSFB IWF 102.In step 410, from the MSISDN that memory search has stored.Go to this example, CSFB IWF 102 can retrieve the MSISDN of mark in PRN request from memory. Then, in step 412, send to HLR the MAP SRI comprising previously received MSISDN and ask.In this embodiment, CSFB IWF 102 sends MAP SRI to HLR 120 and asks, and this MAP SRI request comprises the MSISDN of mark in PRN request. The MAP SRI receiving the current MSRN of mark UE in step 414 confirms (MAPSRI Ack). Then, in step 416, the PRN sending the current MSRN of mark to HLR confirms (PRN Ack).Again go to this example, CSFB IWF 102 can send to HLR 120 PRN comprising the current MSRN of UE 108 and confirm with the calling stopped for UE 108.
Fig. 5 is the call flow chart of the embodiment of the USSD request/notification procedure that the Mobile Termination that new network is initiated is shown.USSD is used for and the agreement of the USSD server communication of service provider by GSM cell phone. In this case, the MSC/VLR performing rollback be different from UE first rollback to MSC/VLR during CS.In other words, MSC changes during MT USSD (unstructured supplementary service data) request/notification procedure when rollback.IWF initiates rollback when MT calls out and then serves as USSD server, and is asked/notify to be passed to UE by USSD by HLR and new MSC.The MT USSD that call flow shown in Fig. 5 also can be applicable to network initiation notifies.
Focus on the call flow part in square frame, IWF serves as USSD server and sends MAP (MAP) USSD to HLR to be asked.Responsively, this USSD request is sent to new MSC/VLR by HLR.New MSC/VLR according to the CS process of standard by this USSD request forward to UE, and the response received from UE is sent to HLR.USSD confirms to be sent to HLR in response to the response receiving UE by MSC/VLR.This response is relayed to IWF by HLR, and USSD response is relayed to HLR by IWF further. Then, this USSD response is according to circumstances sent to USSD server or USSD application by HLR.
