发明背景
触变剂可用于多种用途,从食品制备到用于在油气井的钻井、完井和生产中使用的井下流体。特别地,并且和油气工业有关地,用于强化开采技术中的井下地层的水力压裂正在迅猛发展。正如熟知的,在美国有大量页岩地层,其含有数以万亿计立方英尺的天然气和数以十亿计桶的油。这些页岩地层的问题在于油和/或气由于页岩的通常是小的孔尺寸而被紧紧地保持。因此,与在其他地层中不同,油气不容易自地层释放以用于生产。为了克服此难题,操作人员诉诸于水力压裂或“液压破碎(fracking)”。

优选实施方案详述

在化学上,瓜尔胶是由半乳糖和甘露糖两种糖组成的多糖。主链是β1,4-连接的甘露糖残基的直链,其上每隔一个甘露糖1,6-连接有半乳糖残基,形成短的侧分支。瓜尔胶的结构是已知的,并且无需在此处描述。瓜尔胶可以被交联从而通过连接OH-基团而形成强的凝胶结构。典型地,至少与井下油气操作有关地,已经使用硼酸盐进行该交联。还已知的是,用钛络合物和锆化合物将瓜尔胶交联。

现在已经发现,氧化铝,特别是某些勃姆石氧化铝可以用于交联在水中的瓜尔胶。氧化铝交联剂可以用于调节瓜尔胶凝胶的流变学性质,从而根据需要获得与使用传统的瓜尔胶/硼酸盐体系可以制备的相比不同的且潜在地更强的凝胶。因此,本发明可以用于减少制备具有与以常规方式生产的凝胶结构可比的流变学性质的凝胶结构所需的瓜尔胶的量。此外,已经发现,使用本发明的氧化铝作为交联剂,交联的瓜尔胶凝胶可以在酸性、中性和碱性pH条件下处理。这提供了至今无法获得的在液压破碎操作中的灵活性。
如所述,适用于本发明中的氧化铝优选是勃姆石(或者拟薄水铝石(pseudo boehmite))氧化铝。尤其优选的是具有当在120面上测量时小于约的微晶尺寸的勃姆石氧化铝。优选的氧化铝是可以在以下意义上分散在水中的:它们可以通过由氧化铝的预处理或通过与酸预分散在水中达合适的时间所导致的酸的作用分解为微晶或接近基本微晶。
对可用于本发明中的多种勃姆石氧化铝的NMR分析揭示了,有效充当交联剂的氧化铝可以与对于Al-27原子核测量的特定NMR峰相关。所述峰出现在80ppm,并且对应于在某些负责交联活性的氧化铝的分散期间形成的对称的、四面体铝酸盐物种。也已经发现,当此峰的强度增加时,氧化铝能够更好地在溶液中交联瓜尔胶。另一方面,如果氧化铝不显示此特别的NMR峰,则其将不交联。Al-27NMR峰相关于有活性的交联用氧化铝物种,其具有下式的四面体氧化铝物种:
Al(OH)4 -或Al(OR)4 -及其混合物
其中R是有机离去基团,所述有机离去基团可以在以下意义上与氧化铝结合在此构型中:在交联过程期间,它可以从氧化铝微晶分离并且随后与聚合物有机材料的羟基反应。R可以是容易从Al-O键分离以使其自由地交联聚合物的任何有机离去基团。对在80ppm的NMR峰的进一步分析,且尤其是对分散体中的多种氧化铝的在80ppm的NMR峰的积分显示:基于对甲苯磺酸(PTSA)的产物DISPAL 25SR1显示与其他氧化铝相比五十倍那么多的存在于溶液中的四面体氧化铝物种。此外,此特殊的氧化铝(PTSA)与其他勃姆石氧化铝中的某些相比在更低的浓度交联瓜尔胶。
取决于所用的氧化铝,瓜尔胶的交联在酸性至接近中性pH发生,而不添加任何碱或调节pH。某些勃姆石氧化铝在硝酸的存在下容易交联瓜尔胶。在其他情况中,当向瓜尔胶/氧化铝混合物加入碱时,利用某些勃姆石氧化铝的交联在接近中性至碱性pH发生。
可用作交联剂的常规可用的氧化铝的非限制性实例包括:
1.Dispal 23N4氧化铝2溶胶-通过将其作为分散体加入到瓜尔胶分散体中,其在酸性pH下交联瓜尔胶。
2.Dispal T25N4氧化铝溶胶3-通过将其作为分散体加入到瓜尔胶分散体中,其在酸性pH下交联瓜尔胶。1在PTSA存在下水热老化并且如此喷雾干燥的勃姆石氧化铝。2Sasol North America,Inc.销售的勃姆石氧化铝溶胶,具有91埃的微晶尺寸和4.54的pH。3Sasol North America,Inc.出售的勃姆石氧化铝溶胶,具有64.3埃的微晶尺寸和3.5的pH。
3.Dispal 25SR氧化铝4分散体-通过将其作为水分散体加入到分散的瓜尔胶中然后使用碱升高pH,其在碱性pH下交联瓜尔胶。
4.分散在5%硝酸溶液中的Catapal A氧化铝5-通过将其作为分散体加入到瓜尔胶分散体中,其在酸性pH下交联瓜尔胶。
以上和类似的氧化铝产品中的每种通过将在水分散体中的瓜尔胶交联而产生强的凝胶结构。如所述,使用本发明的氧化铝作为交联剂,减少了产生与利用硼酸盐交联的凝胶在流变学上可比的凝胶所需的瓜尔胶的量。此外,凝胶的性质可以通过加入更多或更少的此种氧化铝来“调节”。这与硼酸盐体系相比是独特的,不管体系中硼酸盐与瓜尔胶的比例如何,硼酸盐体系都产生具有相同性质的凝胶。这种使用与硼酸盐体系常规采用的瓜尔胶相比较少的瓜尔胶生产交联的瓜尔胶凝胶的能力是非常重要的。
此外,可以通过使交联发生的pH变得相反来使胶凝过程逆转。如果氧化铝在酸性条件下交联聚合物,则使所述凝胶为碱性将使得所述凝胶变回非交联的分散体。类似地,如果交联在碱性条件下发生,则可以通过使所述凝胶为酸性来恢复流动性。
目前,所有瓜尔胶生产的约80%发生在印度。随着如所述的其在液压破碎操作中的使用急剧增加,瓜尔胶的价格呈数量级地上升。因此,减少生产用于液压破碎液的在流变学上可接受的凝胶所需的瓜尔胶的量具有极大的经济意义。
一般说来,用于压裂液的根据本发明的瓜尔胶凝胶通过以下方式制备:在水性介质中混合0.1-2重量%瓜尔胶,用约0.1-2重量%的上述勃姆石氧化铝交联。特别地,已经发现,使用以1%水平添加到1%瓜尔胶水性分散体的Dispal 23N4溶胶产生与典型的硼酸盐交联的凝胶类似的瓜尔胶凝胶。可以使用类似量的其他可交联有机聚合物材料和氧化铝制备胶凝的组合物。
Dispal T25N4溶胶以相似方式进行,而以1%添加到瓜尔胶分散体中的Dispal 25SR的分散体,在调节pH至碱性后,产生比通过常规硼酸盐交联方法产生的凝胶强高达十倍的凝胶。在液压破碎液的制备方面,将氧化铝用4Sasol North America,Inc.出售的勃姆石氧化铝溶胶,具有54埃的微晶尺寸和4.0的pH。5Sasol North America,Inc.出售的勃姆石氧化铝粉末,具有38至45埃的微晶尺寸。于交联瓜尔胶是尤其有利的,因为其减少生产与通过常规硼酸盐交联方法生产的凝胶强度可比的凝胶所需的瓜尔胶的量。此外,并且如所述,可以通过使用的氧化铝的量来改变凝胶性质,并且与仅为碱性pH的硼酸盐体系相比,可以产生酸性和碱性凝胶两者。
图1显示与硼酸盐胶凝的瓜尔胶相比的若干瓜尔胶和氧化铝凝胶的粘度曲线。如由图1可见,用作交联剂的Dispal 23N4的量控制凝胶的流变。例如,以0.25重量%使用瓜尔胶并且增加Dispal 23N4量产生如下的凝胶:所述凝胶开始粘性低于硼酸盐连接的瓜尔胶(以1%),但是随着氧化铝增加变得更粘。当氧化铝含量增加时,所述凝胶的屈服应力也增加。
也已经发现,根据本发明生产的凝胶是粘弹性的。特别地,使用氧化铝作为交联剂,对于粘性和弹性分量两者,可以与标准硼酸盐凝胶的参数相当。这可以参考图3和4中的振荡应力曲线看到。
使用瓜尔胶凝胶的工业中使用的液压破碎液通常含有0.2重量%水平的瓜尔胶。关于此水平的交联的瓜尔胶的数据显示在图2中。如由图2可见,当使用硼酸作为交联剂时,使用0.2比1的硼酸与瓜尔胶之比,可以获得的最佳粘度为约100厘泊(0.100Pas)。另一方面,并且如在图2中所示,使用DISPAL 25SR氧化铝,取决于氧化铝的用量,交联的瓜尔胶的粘度可以被调节至高得多的水平或者类似水平。
也已经发现,通过使用DISPAL 25SR氧化铝交联凝胶导致具有非常高的静止粘度或低剪应力粘度的流动曲线,如由标记为“Incr”(剪应力的增加)的曲线所示。在屈服点之后,粘度低,并且在减小应力后(标记为“Decr”),粘度恢复。流动曲线显示了,在应力下降后粘度低,直到很低的应力,那时它恢复较高的静止粘度。这可以是有利的,因为在屈服后粘度保持为低以使流动不被高的粘度阻碍。进一步的振荡测量显示在图5中。在图5中可见,改变DISPAL 25SR氧化铝的量使得交联的凝胶的粘弹性以可预测的方式改变。
与硼酸交联相比,可以获得性质的很大变化。图5中所示图表的趋势线显示:通过改变添加到体系中的氧化铝的量可以简单地在数个数量级的范围内调节弹性(G’)和粘度(G”)。这与增加量不改变凝胶的粘弹性的硼酸形成对比。
一般说来,可以采用具有自由羟基的任何有机聚合物材料来制备本发明的凝胶。这样的有机聚合物材料的非限制性实例包括多糖,纤维素醚的衍生物如羟烷基纤维素,羧烷基纤维素,羧烷基羟烷基纤维素,聚乙烯醇,聚丙烯酸,聚甲基丙烯酸,黄原(xantham)胶,刺槐豆胶,琼脂,纤维素胶,果胶等。
在一种方法中,氧化铝和瓜尔胶可以被泵入到作为水性分散体的制剂中,所述水性分散体包含延时释放的活化剂以起始交联。并且,在将本发明应用于液压破碎液的过程中,瓜尔胶的水性分散体将被井下泵入到待破碎的地层,其后可以将氧化铝分散体井下泵入以实现瓜尔胶分散体的现场交联。备选地,瓜尔胶可以被分散在非水性载体,例如,柴油等中,将此非水性分散体添加到水中以水化瓜尔胶,这之后其可以在地表交联并被泵入到地层中,或者如上所述现场交联。使用其中瓜尔胶在水化之前被分散在非水性载体中的后一种方法便于操作,即,其不需将成袋的瓜尔胶粉末转移至井场所。使用允许高瓜尔胶载量的非水性载体还消除了与在瓜尔胶被水化后细菌生长相关的问题。有效地,通过使用这些非水性预混物,与如果将瓜尔胶作为干粉或再次产生使用前细菌生长的问题的水性分散体运输到所述场所所能够实现的体积相比,可以将更大体积的瓜尔胶运输到所述场所。
在本发明的勃姆石氧化铝的使用中,可以采用用酸(无机的和有机的)预处理过的勃姆石。关于后一种,氧化铝可以用对甲苯磺酸处理,这提供在碱性pH下与瓜尔胶交联的交联剂,即酸性的PTSA氧化铝可以被添加到瓜尔胶的水分散体并随后使用碱升高pH由此交联瓜尔胶并且在基本上中性或稍碱性的条件(在某些实例中理想的情况)下形成凝胶。特别地,出于多种原因,通常优选的是保持一般中性的pH。此外,可以对未用酸处理的勃姆石氧化铝进行一段延长时间的酸处理以赋予必要的性质,例如,所需的微晶尺寸,以使其成为有效的交联剂。
虽然以上关于瓜尔胶的交联讨论并描述了本发明,但其不受此限制。
本领域技术人员将理解,除了氧化铝交联剂中的可交联材料以外,液压破碎和其他井维修流体还可以包含支撑剂、化学添加剂例如抗微生物剂,以使所述流体适应特定的地质情况,并且在井下操作期间保护井眼。
关于Dispal 25SR氧化铝,已经发现,可以制备高弹性但是如果不添加碱则不交联的水性瓜尔胶分散体。这样的组合物可以用于流体漏失控制流体。本发明的交联的组合物的进一步应用是其在阻燃剂中的用途。如所熟知的,阻燃剂混合物由飞机递送以控制森林和灌木火灾并且通常含有交联的瓜尔胶作为胶凝剂以使得阻燃剂粘附到叶子并且增强阻燃性。使用氧化铝作为交联剂是非常有利的,因为其实际上不产生环境问题,并且如所述,因为与使用硼酸盐的情况相比,所述凝胶可以被更容易地调整,其将是更经济的,因为可以需要较少的瓜尔胶来生产合适的凝胶。

Claims (9)
1.一种触变剂,所述触变剂包含:
聚合物有机材料与勃姆石氧化铝的交联的凝胶,所述聚合物有机材料具有自由羟基,所述勃姆石氧化铝具有当在120面上测量时小于的微晶尺寸并且在水性分散体中显示在80ppm处的Al-27 NMR峰。
2.权利要求1所述的触变剂,其中所述氧化铝选自在水性分散体中形成选自以下组的氧化铝物种的氧化铝:
Al(OH)4 -、Al(OR)4 -、及其混合物,
其中R是可以在以下意义上与所述氧化铝结合的有机离去基团:在交联反应期间,所述有机基团可以从所述氧化铝物种分离,所述氧化铝物质随后可以与所述聚合物有机材料上的所述羟基反应。
3.权利要求1所述的触变剂,其中所述氧化铝包括在PTSA的存在下水热老化的勃姆石氧化铝。
4.权利要求1所述的触变剂,其中所述聚合物有机材料是瓜尔胶。
5.权利要求1所述的触变剂,其中所述聚合物有机材料是多糖。
6.权利要求1所述的触变剂,其中所述有机聚合物材料选自由以下各项组成的组:多糖,羟烷基纤维素,羧烷基纤维素,羧烷基羟烷基纤维素,聚乙烯醇,聚丙烯酸,聚甲基丙烯酸,刺槐豆胶,琼脂,黄原胶,纤维素胶,果胶,及其混合物。
7.一种液压破碎组合物,所述液压破碎组合物包含水性介质和根据权利要求1所述的交联的凝胶。
8.权利要求7所述的液压破碎组合物,所述液压破碎组合物还包含支撑剂。
9.一种水力压裂井下地层的方法,所述方法包括在超过所述地层的破裂梯度的压力的压力下向所述地层中引入权利要求7所述的液压破碎液。
