过敏性鼻炎即变应性鼻炎(allergic rhinitis,AR)，是指特应性个体接触变应原后主要由IgE 介导的介质（主要是组织胺）释放，并有多种免疫活性细胞和细胞因子等参与的鼻黏膜非感染性炎性疾病，目前，用于治疗过敏性鼻炎的药物疗效一不多，西医治疗只可采用免疫抑制剂，激素等药物控制病情，长期大量使用这类药物易造成不良反应较多，易复发，停药困难等缺点，而中医药对这类疾病的治疗有较好的疗效。
