Abstract
The present invention discloses a D2D configuration method, a D2D configuration device and a D2D configuration system The method is characterized in that a base station receiving terminal reports the information whether the base station receiving terminal itself supports the D2D communication when reporting capacity during a process of attaching or tracking area update, if the terminal supports the D2D communication, the base station carries out D2D configuration on the terminal. Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to wireless technology, and more particularly, to Device-to-Device (D2D) configuration methods, apparatuses, and systems.
Background
D2D communication refers to communication between terminals that is performed directly without infrastructure.
The traditional cellular network does not support the D2D technology, data forwarding must be performed through a base station for communication between terminals, and after the D2D technology is introduced into the cellular network, terminals in a short distance can discover each other and directly perform data transmission, thereby saving air interface and core network resources and providing new services, such as battle games, short-distance broadcasting, and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication.
The inventor of the present application believes that, in practical applications, not all terminals support the D2D technology, that is, support D2D communication, but since the network side does not know which terminals do not support D2D communication, D2D configuration can only be performed for terminals that support and do not support D2D communication, which results in unnecessary signaling overhead.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of this, the present invention provides a D2D configuration method, apparatus and system, which can save signaling overhead.

Detailed Description
Aiming at the problems in the prior art, the invention provides a D2D configuration scheme, which can save signaling overhead.
In order to make the technical solution of the present invention clearer and more obvious, the solution of the present invention is further described in detail below by referring to the drawings and examples.
Fig. 1 is a flowchart of a D2D configuration method according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 1, includes:

Generally, when a terminal attaches (Attach) or performs Tracking Area Update (TAU), it reports the capability to the network.

For a 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) system, the Capability (UE-EUTRA-Capability) of an Information Element (IE, Information Element) terminal in a Capability report signaling may be extended, for example, a bit (bit) is added to indicate whether the terminal supports D2D communication, and if the bit is 0, the terminal is not supported, and if the bit is 1, the terminal is supported; alternatively, if there are reserved bits in the IE UE-EUTRA-Capability, one of the reserved bits may also be used to indicate whether the terminal supports D2D communication.
In addition, for a terminal supporting D2D communication, while reporting information whether the terminal supports D2D communication, the terminal may further report one of the following information: the specific type of receiving only the D2D information, transmitting only the D2D information, receiving both the D2D information and transmitting the D2D information may be determined according to actual circumstances.
Accordingly, two bits may be added to IE UE-EUTRA-Capability, or two reserved bits in IE UE-EUTRA-Capability may be utilized to indicate the relevant information of the terminal, for example, when the two bits are 00 or empty, it indicates that the terminal does not support D2D communication, when the two bits are 01, it indicates that the terminal supports D2D communication and only receives D2D information, when the two bits are 10, it indicates that the terminal supports D2D communication and only transmits D2D information, and when the two bits are 11, it indicates that the terminal supports D2D communication and both receives D2D information and transmits D2D information.
Step 12: if the terminal is determined to support D2D communication, the first base station performs D2D configuration for the terminal.
Generally, when a terminal enters an area supporting D2D communication, it needs to be configured with D2D.
Specifically, for any terminal, if it supports D2D communication, the first base station to which the terminal belongs may perform D2D configuration for the terminal according to its own condition and information reported by the terminal, and send D2D configuration information to the terminal, where the resource size, location, and period of D2D communication of a cell in which the terminal is located may be carried, how to perform D2D configuration in the prior art.
The D2D configuration information may be carried in a Radio resource control Reconfiguration (RRC) signaling, or may be carried in another Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling sent by the first base station to the terminal.
As described above, as long as the terminal supporting D2D communication performs D2D configuration, in practical applications, the D2D configuration condition of the terminal may be further defined, that is, only the terminal supporting D2D communication and having activated D2D communication performs D2D configuration, because only the terminal having activated D2D communication can perform D2D communication, thereby further saving signaling overhead.
For this reason, if any terminal supports D2D communication and has started D2D communication when reporting capability, then reporting information whether or not it supports D2D communication in step 11 and also reporting information that it has started D2D communication; if it supports D2D communication but does not initiate D2D communication when capability reporting is performed, then after the D2D communication is initiated, information that it has initiated D2D communication is reported.
In addition, the solution of the present invention further provides that, for any terminal, when the terminal is switched from the first base station to the second base station, the first base station needs to forward the information reported by the terminal to the second base station, so that the terminal does not need to report related information to the second base station, thereby further saving signaling overhead.
Specifically, the first base station may determine whether an X2 interface exists between itself and the second base station, and if so, forward the information reported by the terminal to the second base station through an X2 interface; otherwise, the information reported by the terminal may be forwarded to a Mobility Management Entity (MME) through an S1 interface with the MME, and the information reported by the terminal is forwarded to the second base station through an S1 interface with the second base station by the MME. In the LTE system, the Information reported by the terminal may be carried in RRC signaling handover preparation Information (handover Information), or of course, may be carried in other RRC signaling sent from the first base station to the second base station.
Based on the above description, fig. 2 is a flowchart of a preferred embodiment of a D2D configuration method according to the invention. As shown in fig. 2, includes:

Step 24: when the terminal is switched from the first base station to the second base station, the first base station forwards the information of supporting D2D communication, the information of only receiving D2D information and the information of starting D2D communication, which are reported by the terminal, to the second base station.
The solution according to the invention is further illustrated below by way of example.
Assuming that a terminal needs to update a tracking area, in the process, the terminal reports the capability to a first base station and reports information whether the terminal supports D2D communication; if the terminal supports D2D communication, whether the terminal has started D2D communication can be determined, if yes, the terminal can report the information that the terminal supports D2D communication and reports the information that the terminal has started D2D communication, otherwise, the terminal can wait for the subsequent D2D communication starting and then reports the information that the terminal has started D2D communication; in addition, if the terminal supports D2D communication, while reporting information that the terminal supports D2D communication and information that D2D communication is started, it may report one of the following information according to the terminal's own situation: receive only D2D information, transmit only D2D information, receive both D2D and D2D information; the information reported by the terminal can be carried in IE UE-EUTRA-Capability in the Capability reporting signaling, and particularly, the reported information can be carried by an extension bit or a reserved bit in the IE UE-EUTRA-Capability;
after receiving the Capability reporting signaling from the terminal, the first base station may analyze IEUE-EUTRA-Capability therein, and assuming that it is known that the terminal supports D2D communication according to the analysis result, and has started D2D communication, and only receives D2D information, may perform D2D configuration for the terminal accordingly, and may send the D2D configuration information to the terminal through RRC signaling, where the D2D configuration information may include: the resource size, location, and period of D2D communication of the cell in which the terminal is located;
subsequently, assuming that the terminal is handed over from the first base station to the second base station, the first base station may first determine whether an X2 interface exists between itself and the second base station, if so, the information reported by the terminal may be forwarded to the second base station through an X2 interface, otherwise, the information reported by the terminal may be forwarded to an MME through an S1 interface with the MME, and further, the information reported by the terminal may be forwarded to the second base station by the MME through an S1 interface with the second base station.
The invention also discloses a D2D configuration system, a terminal and a base station.
The D2D configuration system comprises:
the terminal is used for reporting the information whether the terminal supports D2D communication or not when reporting the capability to the base station in the process of updating the attachment or tracking area;
and the base station is used for receiving the information whether the terminal supports D2D communication or not when the terminal reports the capability, and performing D2D configuration only for the terminal supporting D2D communication.

In a word, by adopting the scheme of the invention, the terminal can report the information whether the terminal supports D2D communication or not when reporting the capability, so that the network side can only carry out D2D configuration for the terminal supporting D2D communication, thereby saving signaling overhead; moreover, when the terminal is switched from one base station to another base station, the terminal does not need to report information of whether the terminal supports D2D communication and the like again, so that the signaling overhead is further saved; in addition, the scheme of the invention is simple and convenient to realize and is convenient to popularize and promote.
