Abstract

The invention discloses a method of updating an application. The method comprises the following steps of: after user equipment receives an application updating command, selecting a network connected to an application server, obtaining version number information of the current application and transmitting the information to the application server; when the user equipment receives the new version information of the current application, which is transmitted by the application server, initializing a download request of the current application and updating the current application to a new edition of application after downloading is completed; and when the network is a wireless cellular network, determining whether the current network flow exceeds a set flow threshold, and stopping downloading of the current application when the current network flow exceeds the set flow threshold. The invention also discloses a device and a system of updating the application as well as the user equipment. By utilizing the method, the device and the system of updating the application as well as the user equipment, the application can be automatically updated, so that the cost is effectively reduced.

Fig. 1 is a schematic flow chart of an application updating method of the present invention, as shown in fig. 1, the method includes:

Fig. 2 is a flowchart illustrating a specific embodiment of an application updating method according to the present invention, and as shown in fig. 2, the application updating method of this example includes the following steps:

In addition, an application query function can be further arranged, and when the application query instruction is received, the history updating condition of the application can be checked.
The application server compares that the version of the current application is the application of the latest version, and information does not need to be sent to the user equipment.
Here, the downloading of the new version of the application includes: downloading the whole new version application and downloading the upgrading part in the new version application.
Based on the application updating method, the present invention further describes an application updating apparatus, as shown in fig. 3, the apparatus includes: a first receiving unit 311, a selecting unit 312, an obtaining unit 313, a sending unit 314, a second receiving unit 315 and an updating unit 316; wherein,
the first receiving unit 311 is configured to receive an application update instruction;
the selecting unit 312 is configured to select a network accessing to the application server;
the acquiring unit 313 is configured to acquire version number information of a current application;
the sending unit 314 is configured to send version number information of the current application to the application server;
the second receiving unit 315 is configured to receive new version information of the current application sent by the application server;
the updating unit 316 is configured to initiate a download request for the current application, and update the current application to a new version of application after the download is completed; when the network selected by the selecting unit 312 is a wireless cellular network, the updating unit 316 is further configured to determine whether the current network traffic exceeds a set traffic threshold, and stop downloading the current application when the current network traffic exceeds the set traffic threshold.
Further, the selecting unit 312 selects the wireless local area network as the network accessing the application server when determining that the wireless local area network can access the application server, or when both the wireless local area network and the cellular network can access the application server;
when only the wireless cellular network can be accessed to the application server, whether the current network flow exceeds a set flow threshold value is also determined, and the wireless cellular network is not selected as a network for accessing the application server when the current network flow exceeds the set flow threshold value; and if the network is not exceeded, selecting or not selecting the wireless cellular network as the network for accessing the application server.
When the selecting unit 312 selects the wireless local area network as the network accessing the application server, the second receiving unit 315 receives the new version information of the current application sent by the application server, and the updating unit 316 sends a download request of the new version application to the application server, and updates the corresponding current application as the new version application after the download is completed.
The apparatus further includes a setting generation unit 310 configured to set an application update period, and generate an application update instruction when the application update period comes; or after receiving an application updating request input by a user, generating an application updating instruction.
When the setting generation unit 310 sets an application update period, a flow threshold value is also set, and an inquiry function is applied.
Specifically, the first receiving unit 311 receives an application update instruction, the selecting unit 312 selects a wireless local area network as a network accessing an application server, the obtaining unit 313 reads a user equipment identifier, searches for all installed APKs, reads a version number field recorded in an XML document of the APK, and sends the obtained user equipment identifier and version number information to the application server.
The application server is configured to, after receiving the version number information of the current application and when determining that the version information of the current application is not the latest version information of the local corresponding application, send the latest version information of the local corresponding application as the new version information of the current application to the second receiving unit 315. The second receiving unit 315 receives the new version information of the current application sent by the application server, and the updating unit 316 sends a download request of the new version application to the application server, receives a download request response message of the application server, downloads the new version application, and updates the corresponding current application to the new version application after the download is completed.
Here, the selecting unit 312 is a case of selecting a wireless local area network; when selecting a wireless cellular network, the updating unit 316 determines whether the current network traffic of the application exceeds the traffic threshold, and when determining that the current network traffic does not exceed the traffic threshold, downloads a new version of the current application and updates the current application to the new version of the application;
the update unit 316 stops downloading the current application when it determines that the traffic threshold is exceeded.
When the acquiring unit 313 detects an inquiry instruction to the application, the history update condition of the application is acquired and output.
The invention also discloses user equipment, wherein the application updating device shown in the figure 3 is arranged in the user equipment.
Meanwhile, the invention also discloses an application updating system which comprises the user equipment and the application server. Wherein, the user equipment includes the application updating apparatus shown in fig. 3; and the application server is used for sending the latest version information of the local corresponding application as the new version information of the current application to the user equipment when the version information of the current application is determined not to be the latest version information of the local corresponding application after receiving the version number information of the current application of the user equipment.
It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the functions implemented by the processing units in the application update apparatus shown in fig. 3 can be understood with reference to the foregoing description of the application update method of the user equipment. Meanwhile, it should be understood by those skilled in the art that the functions of each processing unit in the application update apparatus shown in fig. 3 may be implemented by a program running on a processor, and may also be implemented by specific logic circuits.
According to the application updating method, device and system and the user equipment, after the user equipment receives the application updating instruction, the network accessed to the application server is selected, the version number information of the current application is obtained, and the version number information is sent to the application server; when the user equipment receives the new version information of the current application sent by the application server, the user equipment initiates a downloading request of the current application, and updates the current application into the new version application after the downloading is finished; when the network is a wireless cellular network, determining whether the current network flow exceeds a set flow threshold, and stopping downloading of the current application when the current network flow exceeds the set flow threshold. The invention can realize automatic updating of application, can effectively control download flow and save economic cost by setting the flow threshold and the total flow threshold.

2. The application update method according to claim 1, wherein the selecting a network to access an application server comprises:
when the user equipment determines that the wireless local area network can be accessed to the application server or the wireless local area network and the cellular network can be accessed to the application server, the wireless local area network is selected as the network for accessing the application server;
when the user equipment determines that only the wireless cellular network can access the application server, the user equipment also determines whether the current network flow exceeds a set flow threshold value, and if so, the user equipment does not select the wireless cellular network as a network for accessing the application server; and if the network is not exceeded, selecting or not selecting the wireless cellular network as the network for accessing the application server.
3. The application updating method according to claim 1, wherein before the user equipment receives the application updating instruction, the method further comprises:
setting an application updating period for the user equipment, and generating an application updating instruction when the application updating period comes.
