Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) services, and in particular, to an information notification method and a base station, a Service acquisition method, a system, and a User Equipment (UE).
Background
With the rapid development of the internet and the popularization of large-screen multifunctional mobile phones, a large number of mobile data multimedia services and various high-bandwidth multimedia services, such as video conferences, television broadcasts, video on demand, video advertisements, online education, interactive games and the like, appear, which not only meet the ever-increasing service demands of mobile users, but also bring new service growth points for mobile operators. These mobile data multimedia services require that multiple users can receive the same data at the same time, and compared with general data services, the mobile data multimedia services have the characteristics of large data volume, long duration, time delay sensitivity and the like. In order to effectively utilize mobile network resources, the third Generation Partnership Project (3 GPP) proposes an MBMS service, which is a technology for transmitting data from one data source to a plurality of destinations, and implements sharing of network (including core network and access network) resources and improves utilization of network resources (especially air interface resources). The MBMS service defined by 3GPP can not only implement pure text low-rate message multicast and broadcast, but also implement broadcast and multicast of high-speed multimedia service, and provide a variety of rich video, audio, and multimedia services, which undoubtedly follows the development trend of future mobile data, and provides a better service prospect for the development of third Generation digital communication (3rd Generation, 3G).
In the MBMS standard establishing process of LTE, an Allocation and Retention Priority (ARP) mechanism and an MBMS counting (counting) mechanism of MBMS are introduced, and a common feature of these mechanisms is that a certain MBMS service is suspended or suspended, and specific situations are described as follows:
for the MBMS Counting mechanism, in order to enable a Network side to obtain the number of users having an MBMS service requirement in an MBSFN (Multimedia Broadcast multicast service Single Frequency Network) area, a Counting (Counting) process is introduced into the MBMS system. The main principle is as follows: a network side sends a Counting request message to User Equipment (UE); the connected UE which is receiving or interested in receiving the MBMS sends a response to the network side, and the network side counts the corresponding UE quantity. The main purpose of introducing the Counting mechanism is to enable an operator to count the number of UEs required by some MBMS services, and improve the utilization rate of radio resources according to the MBSFN transmission mode of suspending/resuming (resume) the service by a count report.
For the ARP mechanism of MBMS service, the main principle is: when the resources are in shortage, the MBMS service with higher priority can preempt the resources of the MBMS service with lower priority, after the resources are preempted by the service with higher priority, the service with lower priority is suspended, and when the network has available wireless resources, the suspended MBMS service resumes transmission.
Both Counting and ARP are initiated by a Multi-cell/Multicast Coordination Entity (MCE), which, in the prior art, when the MBMS service is suspended, the network side does not inform the UE of the MBMS service suspension information in time, and after the inventor analyzes that the current MBMS service is suspended, according to the existing protocol, the appearance of MBMS service suspension is the same as that of the MBMS service which is not scheduled to be transmitted and the service transmission is finished, the related information of the MBMS service is deleted in the signaling of the control plane, however, if the MBMS service is suspended, this may cause the UE receiving or waiting to receive the MBMS service to wait, and since the MBMS service is suspended, it is not transmitted any more in a short time, so that the UE cannot receive the MBMS service, and the UE still keeps waiting, and the UE cannot know the reason why the MBMS service cannot be acquired, which is not favorable for user experience.

Detailed Description
Because the suspension of the MBMS service in LTE does not suspend the MBMS service in PTP mode for the MBMS service transmitted in MBSFN area, if a certain MBMS service is suspended by the network side, the network side is equal to the MBSFN transmission mode that suspends the MBMS service, but does not suspend other transmission modes of the MBMS service, so if the UE can recognize that the MBMS service is suspended, the UE can select another mode to continue receiving the MBMS service, for example, select a point-to-point (PTP) mode to continue receiving, which can well ensure the continuity of the MBMS service and improve user experience.
Fig. 1 is a schematic flow chart of an information notification method according to the present invention, and as shown in fig. 1, the method includes: and after the network side suspends the MBMS, informing the suspended MBMS information to the UE.
Preferably, the base station notifies the UE of the suspended MBMS service information in a broadcast manner (point-to-multipoint manner). Here, the suspended MBMS service information may be a Temporary Mobile Group Identity (TMGI) and/or a session Identity (sessionid) of the suspended MBMS service. The states of the UE receiving the MBMS service in the MBSFN manner are divided into two types: the invention preferably adopts a broadcast mode to send suspended MBMS service information, the network side only sends the suspended MBMS service information through one signaling, and related UE can receive the MBMS service information, including the UE in the IDLE mode.
Preferably, the base station notifies the UE of the suspended MBMS service information through a Multicast Control Channel (MCCH) or a system information block, and when the base station sends the suspended MBMS service information through the MCCH, the base station may specifically add a corresponding indication bit to each MBMS service in the MBMS session information (MBMS-SessionInfo) in a physical Multicast Channel information list (pmch-info list) to carry the suspended MBMS service information (that is, the MBMS service identified by the MBMS service information in the information unit is suspended), or indicate whether the corresponding MBMS service is suspended through the indication bit. Since the protocol specifies that the UE receiving the MBMS needs to receive the MCCH information every MCCH modification period, the UE waiting to receive the MBMS needs to monitor the MCCH update notification message, and the UE will receive the MCCH only when the MCCH update notification message indicates that the MCCH is updated, the MCCH can be used to notify the UE which MBMS is suspended, and in addition, the system information block is also needed to be received by the UE, so the UE can be notified which MBMS is suspended through the system information block.
Optionally, when the base station notifies the UE of the information of the suspended MBMS service, the base station may also notify the UE of the reason for suspending the corresponding MBMS service, where the reason for suspending the MBMS service may be caused by a Counting mechanism, caused by an ARP mechanism, and the like.
Preferably, the base station transmitting the suspended MBMS service information in a broadcast manner may continue until the suspended MBMS service transmission ends, so that the UE accessing at any time can see the MBMS service suspension information.
It should be noted that, when the base station sends the information of the suspended MBMS service through the MCCH, if the information of the suspended MBMS service is sent in the MCCH for the first time, a new MBMS service start prompt is configured for the suspended MBMS service in the MCCH update notification message. In other words, if the network side suspends a certain MBMS service after the MBMS service starts to be transmitted for the first time, the network side needs to notify the base station to transmit the information of the MBMS service in the MCCH. And the base station also needs to indicate that a new MBMS service is transmitted to the UE in the MCCH update notification message.
It should be noted that, when notifying the suspended MBMS service information to the UE, the base station may simultaneously notify the MBMS service information of sessionstop and/or the MBMS service information that is normally transmitted to the UE.
After the network side notifies the UE of the suspended MBMS service information, the UE may need to perform corresponding processing according to the suspended MBMS service information, so the present invention further provides a service acquisition method, including:
after learning that the MBMS service being received or ready to be received is suspended, the UE receives the suspended MBMS service in a manner other than the MBSFN manner, preferably, the UE requests the network side to transmit the suspended MBMS service to the network side in a PTP manner, and receives the suspended MBMS service in a PTP manner,
or after the UE knows that the MBMS which is being received or is ready to be received is suspended, the UE directly prompts the user that the MBMS is suspended from being transmitted in the MBSFN mode.
The service acquisition method is also applicable to the situation that the base station sends the information of the suspended MBMS service in the MCCH for the first time and configures the prompt of the start of the new MBMS service for the suspended MBMS service in the MCCH update notification message.
The invention also correspondingly provides a base station which is used for notifying the suspended MBMS information to the UE in a broadcasting mode.
The base station informs the suspended MBMS information to the UE in a broadcasting mode: and the base station informs the suspended MBMS information to the UE through the MCCH or the system information block.
The base station informs the suspended MBMS information to the UE through the MCCH: the information of the suspended MBMS service is carried in an MCCH (multicast control channel) added information unit, or a corresponding indication bit is added to each MBMS service in MBMS-Session info in a pmch-InfoList, and whether the corresponding MBMS service is suspended is indicated through the indication bit.
The base station is further configured to notify the UE of the reason for suspending the corresponding MBMS service when the suspended MBMS service information is notified to the UE in a broadcast manner.
And the base station is also used for notifying the MBMS information of the sessionstop and/or the MBMS information which is normally sent to the UE when the suspended MBMS information is notified to the UE in a broadcasting mode.
The invention also correspondingly provides the UE which is used for receiving the suspended MBMS by adopting other modes except the MBSFN mode or directly prompting the user that the MBMS is suspended in the MBSFN mode after learning that the MBMS which is being received or is ready to be received is suspended.
The method for receiving the suspended MBMS by the UE in the modes other than the MBSFN mode comprises the following steps: and the UE requests the network side to send the suspended MBMS service for the network side in a PTP mode, and receives the suspended MBMS service in a PTP mode.
The invention also correspondingly provides a service acquisition method, which comprises the following steps:
after suspending the MBMS service, the network side notifies the suspended MBMS service information to the UE;
after knowing that the MBMS which is being received or is ready to be received is suspended, the UE receives the suspended MBMS by adopting other modes except the MBSFN mode, or directly prompts a user that the MBMS is suspended to be transmitted by the MBSFN mode.
The network side informs the suspended MBMS information to the UE: and the base station informs the suspended MBMS information to the UE through the MCCH or the system information block.
The base station informs the suspended MBMS information to the UE through the MCCH: the information of the suspended MBMS service is carried in an MCCH information adding unit, or a corresponding indication bit is added to each MBMS service in MBMS session information (MBMS-SessionInfo) in a physical multicast channel information list (pmch-InfoList) in the MCCH, and the indication bit indicates whether the corresponding MBMS service is suspended.
The method further comprises the following steps: when a base station sends information of a suspended MBMS service in an MCCH for the first time, a prompt for starting a new MBMS service is configured for the suspended MBMS service in an MCCH updating notification message.
The invention also correspondingly provides a service acquisition system, which comprises a network side and the UE; wherein,
the network side is used for notifying the suspended MBMS information to the UE after suspending the MBMS;
and the UE is used for receiving the suspended MBMS by adopting other modes except the MBSFN mode or directly prompting a user to suspend the MBMS for transmission in the MBSFN mode after learning that the MBMS which is being received or is ready to be received is suspended.
The base station is further configured to configure a new MBMS service start prompt for the suspended MBMS service in the MCCH update notification message when information of a suspended MBMS service is first sent in the MCCH.
The technical solution of the present invention is further described in detail with reference to the following specific examples.
Example 1
Assuming that in a certain MBSFN area, a network side performs Counting for an MBMS scheduled to start sending, specifically, an MCE initiates Counting, triggers a base station to forward a Counting command to a UE, the UE receives the Counting command and then checks whether it is receiving or is interested in receiving the MBMS service to be counted in the command, if so, performs Counting feedback, otherwise, it does not manage. As a result of Counting in this embodiment, the number of UEs interested in receiving this MBMS service is small, and the condition provided by using the MBSFN scheme is not satisfied, so the MBMS will be suspended, and the base station needs to notify the UEs in the MCCH that this MBMS service needs to be suspended.
In this embodiment, the base station carries the information of the MBMS service through an information unit added to the MCCH, and specifically, the base station configures the TMGI of the suspended MBMS service in the added information unit and sends the MCCH to the UE. The base station indicates to the UE in the MCCH update notification message before, and an MBMS service session starts.
The method includes that UE interested in receiving (waiting for receiving) the MBMS receives a notification message for detecting the updating of the MCCH to find whether a new MBMS session starts, at the moment, a base station on a network side needs to indicate that a new MBMS starts to be sent in the notification message for updating the MCCH so as to activate the UE interested in receiving the MBMS to convert the notification message for receiving the updating of the MCCH into the MCCH in time, therefore, the UE receiving the notification message for detecting the updating of the MBMS can receive the MCCH, after the MCCH information is analyzed, the UE finds that the information of the interested MBMS is in an added information unit, the UE knows that the MBMS is hung, and then the UE can request the network side to send the hung MBMS in a PTP mode, and receives the hung MBMS in a PTP mode, and can also prompt a user that the MBMS is hung and is operated by the user.
And the network side base station transmits the information of the suspended MBMS in the newly added information unit of the MCCH until the MBMS is transmitted, namely receiving the MBMS session stop of the MBMS. The reason is that the suspension of the MBMS service is in units of MBSFN areas, and that a certain MBMS service is suspended in a certain MBSFN area and cannot represent that the transmission of the MBMS service from the core network is finished.
Example 2
Assuming that in a certain MBSFN area, a network side performs Counting for a certain MBMS service being sent, specifically, an MCE initiates Counting, triggers a base station to forward a Counting command to a UE, the UE receives the Counting command and then checks whether it is receiving or is interested in receiving the MBMS service needing Counting in the command, if so, performs Counting feedback, otherwise, it does not manage. The Counting result in this embodiment indicates that the number of UEs receiving the MBMS service is small and does not satisfy the condition for continuing to use the MBSFN scheme.
The base station loads the information of the MBMS service through an information unit added in the MCCH, and specifically, the base station configures the TMGI of the suspended MBMS service in the added information unit and sends the MCCH to the UE.
Specifically, one of the suggested methods of the present invention is used to add a new information unit (the information unit needs the base station and the UE to agree to carry the information of the suspended MBMS service) in the MCCH and configure and carry the TMGI and/or the session id of the suspended MBMS service in the added information unit. According to the stipulation of the protocol, the UE receiving the MBMS receives the MCCH information at the timing of the MCCH modification period, so that the UE can timely discover that the MBMS which is being received is about to be or is suspended, the UE can receive the MBMS by switching to a PTP mode, specifically, after discovering that the MBMS is suspended, the UE can send request information to a base station at a network side, and the request information comprises one or more of the following items: TMGI, session id, service id, MBSFN area identification of MBMS service, UE requests the base station to provide PTP mode of the MBMS service for the UE through request information so as to ensure service continuity.
And the network side base station transmits the information of the suspended MBMS in the newly added information unit of the MCCH until the MBMS is transmitted, namely receiving the MBMS session stop of the MBMS.
Example 3
Assuming that in a certain MBSFN area, a network side performs Counting for a certain MBMS service being sent, specifically, an MCE initiates Counting, triggers a base station to forward a Counting command to a UE, the UE receives the Counting command and then checks whether it is receiving or is interested in receiving the MBMS service needing Counting in the command, if so, performs Counting feedback, otherwise, it does not manage. The Counting result in this embodiment indicates that the number of UEs receiving the MBMS service is small and does not satisfy the condition for continuing to use the MBSFN scheme.
The base station adds corresponding indication bits for each MBMS service in MBMS-sessionInfo in a PMCH-infoList information unit in the MCCH, and indicates whether the corresponding MBMS service is suspended or not through the indication bits. Bit positions are indicated as schematically below:
it can be seen that, in this embodiment, one TMGI, one sessionId, and one logicalchanneldentitycorrespond to one indication bit, and this indication bit is used to indicate whether the MBMS service indicated by the above three parameters is suspended. The specific design of the indicator bit may use the value or the combined value of 1 or more bits to describe different situations, for example, different values respectively describe suspension, normal transmission, end of transmission, and the like.
Thus, when the UE acquires the session information of the MBMS service from the MBMS-session info of the MBMS service after receiving the MCCH, it is found that the indication bit of the MBMS service indicates whether the service is suspended, and if the service is suspended, the UE may switch to the PTP reception mode.
The network side base station informs the UE that the MBMS service is about to be suspended or has been suspended, and the specific base station informs the information of the MBMS service through the MCCH. Thus, according to the stipulation of the protocol, the UE receiving the MBMS service receives the MCCH information at the timing of the MCCH modification period, so that the UE can timely discover that the MBMS service being received will be or has been suspended, and the UE can receive the MBMS service in a PTP manner, specifically, after discovering that the MBMS service is suspended, the UE can send request information to a base station on the network side, wherein the request information includes one or more of the following items: TMGI, session id, service id, MBSFN area identification of MBMS service. The UE requests the base station to provide the PTP mode of the MBMS service for the UE through the request information so as to ensure the continuity of the service.
And the network side base station transmits the information of the suspended MBMS in the newly added information unit of the MCCH until the MBMS is transmitted, namely receiving the MBMS session stop of the MBMS.
Example 4
This embodiment mainly describes which MBMS service sessionstop is indicated to the UE in the MCCH, and the rest of the processing refers to embodiments 1, 2, and 3.
It is assumed that a certain MBMS service session stop is in a certain MBSFN area. Here, the base station is accurately known according to the existing protocol. Therefore, after the base station knows the sessionstop of a certain MBMS service, the base station adds a corresponding indication bit to each MBMS service in the MBMS-sessionInfo in the PMCH-infoList information unit in the MCCH, and indicates whether the corresponding MBMS service is suspended through the indication bit. Bit positions are indicated as schematically below:
it can be seen that, in this embodiment, one TMGI, sessionId, and logicalchanneldentitycorrespond to one indication bit, and this indication bit is used to indicate whether the MBMS service indicated by the above three parameters is suspended. The specific design of the indicator bit may use a value or a combined value of one or more bits to describe different situations, for example, different values respectively describe suspension, normal transmission, transmission end (session stop), and the like.
Thus, when the UE acquires the session information of the MBMS service from the MBMS-session info of the MBMS service after receiving the MCCH, it is found that the indication bit of the MBMS service indicates whether the service is session stop. If so, the UE can release the bearer of the MBMS service, so as to save resources for the network.
The network side base station notifies the UE that the MBMS service is finished being transmitted, and the specific base station notifies the information of the MBMS service through the MCCH, as described above. Therefore, according to the stipulation of the protocol, the UE receiving the MBMS receives the MCCH information at the opportunity of the MCCH modification period, so that the UE can timely discover that the transmission of the MBMS which is being received is finished, and the UE can release the bearing of the MBMS to save resources for the network.
It should be noted that the suspension described in the present invention may be caused by ARP or Counting, the above embodiment only takes the suspension caused by Counting as an example, and the suspension caused by ARP may be performed in the same manner, and a processing method similar to the present invention may also be adopted to indicate the service of session stop in the MCCH, so that the UE may directly discover whether a MBMS service is finished being sent from the MCCH.
Therefore, the invention can realize that the network side can inform the UE which MBMS service is suspended in time so that the UE can receive or prompt the user in a PTP mode in time, thereby ensuring the continuity of the MBMS service of the UE and improving the experience of the user.
The above description is only a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and is not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
