Background
In future mobile communication systems such as Long Term Evolution (LTE) systems, it is desirable to introduce a mechanism of Self-optimization (SON) of a network to reduce human involvement in network planning and operation maintenance, and to reduce the construction and operation costs of the network. I.e. parameters are automatically optimized by the network based on the statistics.
In the current mobile system network optimization, a drive test mode is usually adopted to check whether the coverage quality of a network and the system performance meet the expected design requirements, namely, professional network optimization personnel drive a measuring vehicle to randomly walk, and a measuring terminal records events and measurement quantities in the walking process and provides the events and the measurement quantities for operators to use for network optimization decisions. The drive tests are all completed manually, a large amount of manpower and time are required to be invested, and a large burden is brought to the network construction and maintenance cost of an operator. On the other hand, the drive test is usually only performed outdoors, but not performed indoors and in some private areas, and the network optimization in these places is difficult to be completed through the drive test.
In order to reduce the operation and maintenance costs of the network, it is desirable to adopt some methods to reduce the labor of the manual drive test. On the other hand, it is also desirable to obtain wireless measurement information of an area that cannot be reached by ordinary Drive tests, so the LTE system also introduces a Minimization Drive Test (MDT) mechanism.
Currently, the MDT mechanism includes the following optimization cases: coverage optimization (Coverage optimization), Mobility optimization (Mobility optimization), Capacity optimization (Capacity optimization), common channel parameter optimization (parameters for common channels), quality of service verification (qosvertification).
In the research report TR 36.805V9.0.0 based on MDT of version R9, completed in 3GPP 2009, the following 7 terminal (UE) measurements were determined: periodic downlink pilot measurements (periodic downlink pilot measurements), Serving Cell less than set threshold (PHR), Random access Failure (Random access Failure), Paging Channel reception Failure (Paging Channel Failure), Broadcast Channel reception Failure (Broadcast Channel Failure), and Radio link Failure report (Radio link Failure report).
The measurement quantities defined above are for the above different optimization use cases, such as Radio Link Failure (RLF) reporting may be applied for coverage optimization and mobility optimization.
In addition to the above-mentioned 7 measurement quantities, it is not excluded to add other measurement quantities, such as QoS-related measurement quantities of the UE, in the subsequent standard procedures.
Currently, the SON mechanism also adopts an RLF reporting method, and a specific process is shown in fig. 1:
the UE detects the RLF, records the identification of the cell where the UE is located when the RLF occurs, and the reference signal received power/reference signal received quality (RSRP/RSRQ) information of the cell before and after the RLF occurs. The UE then performs a cell re-establishment procedure. And if the reconstruction is successful, the UE carries the effective RLF record identifier in the reconstruction finishing message, and the network triggers the UE to report the RLF record information when the network is proper according to the effective RLF record identifier.
Since the re-establishment procedure after the RLF of the UE is not always successful, the UE enters an idle (idle) state, and then performs a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection establishment procedure with the network, which is shown in fig. 2. Therefore, the valid information of the RLF recorded by the UE, i.e. the RLF record valid identifier, can also be put into the RRC connection setup complete message.
The same RLF reporting procedure as in SON is also in the MDT mechanism.
In the process of implementing the invention, the inventor finds that the following technical problems exist in the prior art:
as can be seen from the above description, currently, the UE carries the RLF record valid indication in the reestablishment complete message or the RRC connection establishment complete message to report to the network side, but if the network side does not request the UE to report the recorded RLF information for some reasons, and the UE performs cell handover, the target cell after handover does not know whether the UE has the recorded RLF information to report, and the UE is not triggered to report the RLF information, which may cause loss of the RLF information, so that the network side cannot perform coverage optimization and/or mobility optimization using the RLF information recorded by the UE.
Disclosure of Invention

In order to improve the self-optimization performance of a wireless communication system, an embodiment of the present invention provides an RLF notification and information reporting method, where an indication device sends RLF record valid indication information to a target cell network device for performing cell handover on a terminal, and the target cell network device learns, according to the RLF record valid indication information, that the terminal stores RLF information that is not reported to a network side, and may request the terminal to report the RLF information, so as to perform network self-optimization using the RLF information.

Preferably, when recording the RLF information, if receiving a handover instruction from the network side, the UE may record not only the cell identifier information when the RLF occurs, but also the identifier of the target cell in the handover instruction. Therefore, after the UE performs cell handover for multiple times, when the target cell network device of the handover needs to transmit the RLF information to other network devices that need the RLF information, the RLF information can be forwarded to other network devices that need the RLF information through the recorded network devices of the historical target cell.

The cell network device in the present invention may be a base station covering a cell, or may be any other network side device having a communication interface with a terminal, such as a Radio Network Controller (RNC).

a transmission unit 72, configured to determine, after the terminal is triggered to report the RLF information to the target cell network device, other network devices that need to use the RLF information reported by the terminal, and send the RLF information reported by the terminal to the determined other network devices.
The transmission unit 72 is configured to:
reading the identification information of the cell where the terminal is located when the RLF occurs, and the cell identification information of the cell where the terminal is successfully reestablished or the RRC connection is successfully established after the RLF occurs, which are contained in the RLF information reported by the terminal;
and according to the read identification information, determining the network equipment of the cell in which the terminal is located when the RLF occurs and the network equipment of the cell in which the terminal is successfully reestablished or the RRC connection is successfully established after the RLF occurs as other network equipment needing to use the RLF information reported by the terminal, wherein the cell in which the terminal is successfully reestablished or the RRC connection is successfully established after the RLF occurs is the source cell of the terminal before cell switching.
In conclusion, the beneficial effects of the invention include:
in the solution provided in the embodiment of the present invention, the indicating device sends RLF record valid indicating information to the target cell network device for performing cell handover to the terminal, and the target cell network device learns that the terminal stores RLF information that is not reported to the network side according to the RLF record valid indicating information, and requests the terminal to report the RLF information, so as to perform network self-optimization by using the RLF information. Therefore, by adopting the scheme, the RLF information recorded by the terminal before switching can be reported to the network side, so that the RLF information loss caused by the cell switching of the terminal is avoided, the problem that the network side can not utilize the RLF information to perform coverage optimization and/or mobility optimization is solved, and the network self-optimization performance is improved.
It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made in the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Thus, if such modifications and variations of the present invention fall within the scope of the claims of the present invention and their equivalents, the present invention is also intended to include such modifications and variations.

Claims (10)

1. A radio link failure, RLF, notification method, comprising:
the terminal generates RLF at a third base station and records RLF information;
the terminal establishes connection with a source cell before cell switching is carried out on the terminal through a cell rebuilding process, and a source cell identifier is added in the recorded RLF information, or after the cell rebuilding process of the terminal fails, the terminal establishes connection with the source cell before cell switching is carried out on the terminal through an RRC connection establishing process, and the source cell identifier is added in the recorded RLF information;
the indicating equipment determines target cell network equipment for the terminal to perform cell switching;
the indication equipment sends RLF record effective indication information to the target cell network equipment so as to inform the target cell network equipment that the terminal stores RLF information which is not reported to the network side;
wherein, the indicating device is the terminal, and the sending, by the indicating device, the RLF record validity indication information to the target cell network device includes: the terminal initiates a switching process to the target cell network equipment according to the indication of the network side, and sends RLF record effective indication information to the target cell network equipment after the terminal is successfully switched to the target cell network equipment;
or, the indicating device is a source cell network device before the terminal performs cell handover, and the determining, by the indicating device, a target cell network device for the terminal to perform cell handover includes: after judging that the terminal needs to perform cell switching, the source cell network equipment determines target cell network equipment for the terminal to perform cell switching; the sending of the RLF record validity indication information to the target cell network device includes: the source cell network equipment judges whether RLF record effective indication information from the terminal is received or not and does not request the terminal to report the recorded RLF information; and when the source cell network equipment judges that the RLF record is valid, the RLF record valid indication information from the terminal is carried in a handover preparation message, and the handover preparation message is sent to target cell network equipment.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein sending RLF record validity indication information to the target cell network device after successful handover to the target cell network device comprises:
the terminal receives a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message sent by a network side;
the terminal judges whether the terminal stores RLF information which is not reported to a network side;
and when the terminal judges that the received Radio Link Failure (RLF) record is valid, carrying the RLF record valid indication information in an RRC connection reconfiguration finishing message, and sending the RRC connection reconfiguration finishing message to the target cell network equipment.
3. The method according to any of claims 1-2, characterized in that the source cell network device before the terminal performs the cell handover is located in a universal mobile telecommunications system, UMTS, system, and the target cell network device for the terminal to perform the cell handover is located in a long term evolution, LTE, system; or,
the source cell network equipment before the terminal performs cell switching is positioned in an LTE system, and the target cell network equipment for the terminal to perform cell switching is positioned in a UMTS system; or,
a source cell network device before the terminal performs cell switching and a target cell network device performing cell switching are positioned in the LTE system; or,
the source cell network device before the terminal performs cell switching and the target cell network device performing cell switching are located in the UMTS system.
4. A Radio Link Failure (RLF) information reporting method is characterized by comprising the following steps:
the target cell network equipment for the terminal to perform cell switching receives the RLF record effective indication information sent by the indication equipment and determines that the terminal stores RLF information which is not reported to the network side;
the target cell network equipment triggers the terminal to report the RLF information to the target cell network equipment;
the target cell network equipment determines other network equipment which needs to use the RLF information reported by the terminal, and sends the RLF information reported by the terminal to the determined other network equipment;
wherein, the indicating device is the terminal, and the receiving, by the target cell network device, the RLF record validity indication information sent by the indicating device includes: after the terminal is successfully switched to the target cell network equipment, the target cell network equipment receives RLF record effective indication information sent by the terminal;
or, the indicating device is a source cell network device before the terminal performs cell handover, and the receiving, by the target cell network device, the RLF record valid indication information sent by the indicating device includes: after the target cell network equipment judges that the terminal needs to perform cell switching, the target cell network equipment receives RLF record effective indication information sent by the source cell network equipment; the RLF record effective indication information is carried in a handover preparation message sent by the source cell network equipment;
the target cell network equipment determining other network equipment needing to use the RLF information reported by the terminal comprises the following steps: the target cell network equipment reads the identification information of the cell where the terminal is located when the RLF occurs and the cell identification information of the successful terminal reconstruction or the successful RRC connection establishment after the RLF occurs, wherein the identification information is contained in the RLF information reported by the terminal; and the network equipment of the cell in which the terminal is located when the RLF occurs and the network equipment of the cell in which the terminal is successfully reestablished or the RRC connection is successfully established after the RLF occurs are determined as other network equipment needing to use the RLF information reported by the terminal by the target cell network equipment according to the read identification information, and the cell in which the terminal is successfully reestablished or the RRC connection is successfully established after the RLF occurs is the source cell of the terminal before cell switching.
5. The method of claim 4, wherein when the indication device is the terminal, the RLF record valid indication information is carried in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reconfiguration complete message sent by the terminal.
6. A pointing device, characterized in that the device comprises:
a determining unit, configured to determine a target cell network device for cell switching by a terminal;
an indication unit, configured to send RLF record valid indication information to target cell network equipment, so as to notify that RLF information that is not reported to a network side is stored in a terminal of the target cell network equipment;
wherein, the indicating device is the terminal, and the indicating unit is configured to: after the terminal initiates a switching process to the target cell network equipment according to the indication of the network side and successfully switches to the target cell network equipment, the terminal sends RLF record effective indication information to the target cell network equipment;
or, the indicating device is a source cell network device before the terminal performs cell handover, and the determining unit is configured to: after judging that the terminal needs to perform cell switching, determining target cell network equipment for the terminal to perform cell switching; the pointing device is configured to: judging whether RLF record effective indication information from the terminal is received and the terminal is not requested to report the recorded RLF information; if so, carrying the RLF record effective indication information from the terminal in a handover preparation message, and sending the handover preparation message to target cell network equipment;
a first recording unit for generating RLF at the third base station and recording RLF information; establishing connection with a source cell before cell switching is carried out on a terminal through a cell rebuilding process, and adding a source cell identifier in the recorded RLF information;
a second recording unit for generating RLF at the third base station and recording RLF information; after the cell reestablishment process fails, establishing connection with the source cell before cell switching is performed on the terminal through the RRC connection establishment process, and adding the source cell identifier in the recorded RLF information.
7. The device of claim 6, wherein when the pointing device is the terminal, the pointing unit is configured to:
receiving a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message sent by a network side;
judging whether the terminal stores RLF information which is not reported to a network side;
and if so, carrying the RLF record effective indication information in the RRC connection reconfiguration complete message, and sending the RRC connection reconfiguration complete message to the target cell network equipment.
8. A cell network apparatus, characterized in that the apparatus comprises:
a receiving unit, configured to receive RLF record valid indication information sent by an indication device, and determine that the terminal stores RLF information that is not reported to a network side;
the triggering unit is used for triggering the terminal to report the RLF information to the target cell network equipment;
wherein, the indication device is the terminal, and the receiving unit is configured to: after the terminal is successfully switched to the target cell network equipment, receiving RLF record effective indication information sent by the terminal;
or, the indicating device is a source cell network device before the terminal performs cell handover, and the receiving unit is configured to: after the source cell network equipment judges that a terminal needs to perform cell switching, receiving RLF record effective indication information sent by the source cell network equipment; the RLF record effective indication information is carried in a handover preparation message sent by the source cell network equipment;
a transmission unit, configured to determine, after the terminal is triggered to report the RLF information to the target cell network device, other network devices that need to use the RLF information reported by the terminal, and send the RLF information reported by the terminal to the determined other network devices;
the transmission unit is used for: reading the identification information of the cell where the terminal is located when the RLF occurs, and the cell identification information of the cell where the terminal is successfully reestablished or the RRC connection is successfully established after the RLF occurs, which are contained in the RLF information reported by the terminal; and according to the read identification information, determining the network equipment of the cell in which the terminal is located when the RLF occurs and the network equipment of the cell in which the terminal is successfully reestablished or the RRC connection is successfully established after the RLF occurs as other network equipment needing to use the RLF information reported by the terminal, wherein the cell in which the terminal is successfully reestablished or the RRC connection is successfully established after the RLF occurs is the source cell of the terminal before cell switching.
9. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the RLF record valid indication information is carried in a radio resource control, RRC, connection reconfiguration complete message sent by the terminal when the indication apparatus is the terminal.
10. A wireless communication system, comprising: a pointing device as claimed in claim 6 or 7 and a cell network device as claimed in claim 8 or 9.
