Background
With the rapid development of communication technology, the hardware technology of Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) devices becomes mature, the service types become richer, and higher requirements are provided for the service compatibility of the service port of the SDH device.
At present, a service single board of an SDH device uses an SFP/XFP (Small Form-factor plug blocks) optical module, and some SFP optical modules are compatible with various service rates, for example, Synchronous Transmission Module (STM) services compatible with the SFP optical modules and compatible with 155M, 622M, and 2.5G three rates. The traditional SDH device generally adopts service boards of different service ports to adapt to different service rates, and such a service board has low service integration, poor compatibility, and lack of competitiveness. At present, in order to improve compatibility, service boards with the same service port adapted to different service rates are mostly proposed in SDH devices.
There are many methods for adapting to different service rates of the same service port of the existing service single board, and the common methods include:
the port rate is set through a dial switch of hardware, the method needs the service single board to be reset after being electrified again, and then the conversion of the port rate can be realized by detecting the setting state of the dial switch, thus causing interruption to the services of other ports on the service single board;
the conversion of the port rate is realized by a software method, firstly, a network management system module of SDH is needed to store updated port rate configuration in a network element module, then the network management system module issues a specific reset command to a service single board, and the port re-applies the port rate to the network element module after receiving the reset command.

The basic idea of the invention is: the method comprises the steps that a variable rate command for changing the port rate of any port is directly issued to a service single board through a network element module, the service single board modifies the port attribute related to the variable rate and returns a response according to information such as the port number carried in the variable rate command, the port rate before the variable rate, the port rate after the variable rate and the like, after the response returned by the service single board is received, the network element module deletes the service configuration related to the variable rate port before the variable rate of the service single board, and informs the service single board to delete the service configuration related to the variable rate port before the variable rate of the service single board.
