Description

用于监测数据端口中的连接状态的触头
背景技术
插接板常用于在电信插口(outlet)与有源设备之间提供互连。插接板遇到的一个难题是弄清楚插接板的哪个端口被连接至其他插接板或有源设备上的哪个端口。美国专利6,574,586揭示了对于该问题的一个解决方案,其全部内容通过参考援引于此。如图1所示,美国专利6,574,586揭示了一种系统,其中具有外部插头触头2的适配器护套1被置于插头3上。插头触头2被弹簧4偏置。在本领域中常被称为第九条布线的附加导体5将插头触头电连接在插接线的相对两端。插头3与插接板中的插口6配对。以上的插口6是一个具有插口触头8的适配器印刷电路板(PCB)7。插口触头8被接线至分析器,该分析器随后能够通过向各插口触头施加连接信号来确定哪些插口经插接线而被连接。
美国专利7,193,422(其全部内容通过参考援引于此)描述了一种插接板系统,其中在插头上提供丝网以与位于插口处的导电片进行电连接。该电连接使得端口间的连接能够得以监测。未授权美国专利申请公布20070197094示出用于第九条布线系统的可选插头触头,其全部内容通过参考援引于此。
在美国专利6,574,586的系统中,在插头护罩(boot)上提供的带有弹簧的销钉(spring loaded pin)存在缺陷。带有弹簧的销钉的一个问题是其在与RJ45或光纤连接器的关联中很难卡住。目前用以卡住带有弹簧的销钉的方法包括过压成型(overmolded)的护罩、护罩上的夹子或是为与带有弹簧的销钉一起工作而特别设计的护罩。这些方法比标准的插接线更难于组装。
另一个问题是,带有弹簧的销钉2是沿着正交于插接板正面的方向偏斜的。这样就具有多种缺陷。首先,如果有插口触头8位于其上的PCB 7出现问题,则无法在不对由插头3及插口6建立的数据连接造成干扰的情况下更换PCB 7。换言之,为了对插口触头PCB 7进行维护,必须将插头3脱开。其次,RJ45与光纤的配对连接在连接时具有一定量的“游隙”。该“游隙”行程在水平方向上(即,正交于插接板的正面)比垂直方向上要更大。为补偿水平方向上的游隙,插头上需要一个较长的接触销钉,因此造成销钉2在使用中更易于损坏。最后,与带弹簧的销钉(pogo pin)2的附带接触(在正常使用中)常常被施加在垂直方向上,或是平行于插接板的正面。这样会损坏销钉2,造成其无法执行正常功能。
发明内容
示例性实施例包括一种电信连接系统,该系统包括:插头;插口;所述插头包括:插头主体;传输触头,被支撑于所述插头主体中,所述传输触头在所述插头与所述插口配对时传输信号;插头触头,被安装在所述插头主体上,所述插头触头在将所述插头与所述插口配对时朝着所述插头主体偏斜,所述插头触头载有用于监测端口间的连通性的连通性信号;导体,与所述插头触头电连接;出口触头,为了所述连通性信号的传输而用于与所述插头触头进行接触;出口传输触头,位于所述插口中且与所述传输触头进行电接触。

具体实施方式
图2示出与安装在插接板60中的插口40配对的插头10。插头10包括支撑某些插头组件的插头主体11。插头10包括传输触头12,正如本领域所公知的那样,该传输触头12与插口传输触头42配对,用于承载语音和/或数据信号。插头10还包括插头触头14,与形成在衬底50(例如,印刷电路板或PCB)上的插口触头54配对。PCB 50安装在插接板60的外侧面上。插头触头14与插口触头54提供用于传输连通性信号的电连接,该连通性信号用于监控端口间的连通性。线缆80包括沿插接线传送语音和/或数据信号的传输导体82。传输导体82经由印刷电路板16被电连接至插头传输触头12。不言而喻,PCB 16可以用引线框架元件代替,或是完全去除PCB 16而将传输导体82与插头传输触头12直接配对。线缆80还包括承载用于连通性分析的信号的导体84。导体84在本领域中通常被称为第九条布线(ninth wire)。
当插头10与插口40配对时,插头触头14与插口触头54物理接触以建立电连接。如这里更具体的描述所述,插头触头朝着插头主体沿着平行于插接板60正面的方向向下偏斜。换言之,插头10沿插头-配对轴(图2中所示的X)进入插口40。插头触头14沿偏斜轴Y(该斜轴Y不与插头-配对轴X平行)朝着插头主体11偏斜。偏斜轴Y可以大体上垂直于插头-配对轴X。与图1中销钉沿垂直于插接板正面的方向偏离的现有技术系统相比,这是一种改进。
图3为插接板60的正视图,其示出安装在插口40上方的PCB 50。如图3所示,插口触头54被形成在作为圆齿形(scalloped)区的PCB 50的底部边缘。插口触头54是通过在PCB 50的圆齿形部上提供导电电镀区而形成的。插头触头14接触该圆齿形区以在插头触头14与插口触头54之间进行电接触。PCB 50包括用于与插口触头54之间来回传输信号的导线56。正如本领域所公知的那样,该信号可以被提供至分析器,用于确定插接线的连通性。
图3中的PCB 50被描述为位于插口40上方,但是也可以采用其他方位(orientation)。PCB 50可以被置于插口40下方,同时插头触头14被设置为与PCB的圆齿形部接合(engage)。进而,插口触头54可以在PCB延伸部上被置于插口的任意一侧,其中该PCB延伸部被置于插口40的任意一侧。在该实施例中,插口触头14也将会被置于插头10的对应的一侧。
图4为图2中的插头10的侧视图。插头10包括护罩18,护罩18覆盖大部分插头触头14,让插头触头梁22露出,使得该梁22能够接合插口触头54。在插头外罩18的尾端还露出插头触头测试焊盘24。测试焊盘24使得技术人员可以监测插头触头14上的信号以及向插头触头14施加诊断信号。如这里更具体的描述所述,导体84与插头触头14电连接。
图5为插头触头14的透视图。插头触头14包括具有触点的底座26,其中该触点包括从底座26延伸出的绝缘位移接触件(IDC,insulationdisplacement contact)28。IDC 28与导体84进行电连接。不言而喻,也可以采用诸如绝缘穿透接触、压接式接触或焊接端子等其它连接。臂30自底座26延伸并向下弯曲至带钩端部31。带钩端部31与插头主体中的开口接合以将触头14紧固至插头10。外罩18也被置于插头触头14上方以进而将触头14紧固至插头主体。
插头触头梁22自底座26延伸并在末端向下弯曲以形成悬臂梁22。如上所述,悬臂梁22朝着插头主体向下偏斜,使得当插头10与插口40配对时,偏斜的方向平行于插接板60的正面。指状部32自一个臂30向上延伸并止于测试焊盘24。
当插头10与插口40配对时,梁22朝着插头主体向下偏斜并进入插头主体中的一个开口。图5A为插头10的透视图。如图5A所示,插头主体包括开口23,该开口23为插头10与插口40配对时梁22所偏斜进入的开口。这就允许插头10即使在内含插头14时也能够兼容现有的插口并满足IEC对于插头的尺寸要求。
图6示出在一个可选实施例中安装在插口40中的插头10。在该实施例中,PCB 80被安装在插接板60上,使得PCB 80呈水平配置,而不是图2所示的垂直方式。插口触头84通过电镀PCB 80的一个区而形成在PCB 80上。其他组件与图2中的组件类似。
图7示出插头100的一个可选实施例,其中插头触头104是刚性的而插口触头114在插头100与插口40配对时发生偏斜。插口触头114为金属触头,由容纳在外罩110中的回弹(resilient)元件112(例如弹簧)偏置。在该实施例中,插口触头114的偏斜的方向平行于插接板60的正面。同样,这会限制对插口触头的损害,因为插口触头并非以正交于插接板正面的方向自插接板向外延伸。
插头触头14是垂直行进而不是水平行进的,这就容许在不干扰或移除由插头及插口所建立的语音/数据连接的情况下进行PCB 50或PCB 80、或驻于插接板上的其他导电表面的移除。与插头触头14的附带接触一般都处在垂直方向上。由于插头触头14被设计为在施加垂直力时压入插头主体,所以其更为结实,且在正常使用中变形的可能性更小。在插接板之上或之中的插口触头表面与插头上的插头触头沿垂直方向配对。如果PCB 50或PCB 80、或安装在PCB上的组件被损坏,就可以在不干扰板中的数据连接的情况下移除和更换整个PCB。
本发明的实施例提供了多种益处。插头触头14的平行于插接板的面的偏斜增加了配对连接的可靠性并减小或消除了正常使用中插接插头中的插头触头的损害。实施例还容许在不干扰插头及插口之间的语音/数据连接的情况下在插接板上进行PCB组件的更换或维修。由于该设计比图1所示的现有技术中既现存的带弹簧销钉的设计更为简单,所以插头的生产成本也会降低。
本发明的实施例已参考RJ45插头及插口进行描述。不言而喻,也可加以采用其他电插头形式,而本发明并不限于RJ45插头及插口。进而,插头触头14及插口触头54可用于与诸如光纤、同轴电缆等其他类型的连接件相联。因而,插头及插口等术语旨在涵盖多种传输媒介(铜、光纤、同轴电缆)及多种连接件的形式。
尽管本发明已参考多个示例性实施例进行了描述,本领域普通技术人员将会理解,在不脱离本发明的保护范围的情况下可对其元件进行各种不同的改变及等同替换。另外,在不脱离本发明的实质保护范围的情况下,经本发明的教示还可进行多种修改以适用于特定情形或特定材料。因此,本发明应该不局限于为实施本发明而揭示的具体实施例。

Claims (7)

1.一种电信连接系统,包括:
插头;
插口;
所述插头包括:
插头主体;
传输触头,被支撑于所述插头主体中,所述传输触头在所述插头与所述插口配对时传输信号;
插头触头,被安装在所述插头主体上,所述插头触头在将所述插头沿着插头-配对轴与所述插口配对时朝着所述插头主体偏斜,所述插头触头承载用于监测端口间的连通性的连通性信号,所述插头触头沿着大体上垂直于所述插头-配对轴的偏斜轴朝着所述插头主体偏斜;
导体,与所述插头触头电连接;
插口触头,为了所述连通性信号的传输而用于与所述插头触头进行接触;
插口传输触头,位于所述插口中,该插口传输触头与所述传输触头进行电接触,其中
所述插头触头包括插头触头测试焊盘;
所述插头包括插头外罩,该插头外罩包围所述插头主体及所述插头触头的一部分;以及
所述插头外罩具有开口,该开口为所述插头触头测试焊盘提供通道。
2.如权利要求1所述的电信连接系统,其中:
