Abstract

Technical Field
The present invention relates to a position processing technology in an attachment process, and more particularly, to a method for canceling a position in an attachment process and an apparatus for implementing the same.
Background
With the continuous evolution of mobile communication systems, more and more service functions can be realized by the mobile communication systems. In an Evolved Packet System (EPS) of the third generation partnership project (3GPP), a new function called Idle State signaling Reduction (ISR) is supported. When a serving general packet radio service support node (SGSN) and a Mobile Management Entity (MME) activate an ISR function of a User Equipment (UE), the UE is notified that the ISR function is activated, and at this time, the UE is registered to the SGSN and the MME, and the SGSN and the MME are also registered to a Home Subscriber Server (HSS), that is, the SGSN and the MME both send update location (UpdateLocation) messages to the HSS. In other words, after the ISR function of the UE is activated, the UE can be simultaneously served by the SGSN and the MME, and the HSS simultaneously records information of the SGSN and the MME serving the corresponding UE, that is: the SGSN serving the corresponding UE and the MME are simultaneously registered to the HSS. This is different from conventional second generation/third generation (2G/3G) systems, in which a UE can only be served by one SGSN, and only the SGSN serving the UE is recorded on the HSS. The SGSN and MME may be collectively referred to as a user mobile control management entity (UEMCME), among others.
In the EPS system, if the SGSN1 and the MME1 activate the ISR function of the UE, the ISR function of the UE is activated again, and when the UE moves to a new Tracking Area (TA), and sends a Tracking Area update Request message to the new user mobility control management entity MME2, in this case, the new user mobility control management entity MME2 obtains the Context (Context) of the UE stored by the old user mobility control management entity MME1 through a Context Request (Context Request) process, and further obtains relevant parameters related to the ISR, such as an address of another old user mobility control management entity SGSN 1; the new user mobility control management entity MME2 attempts to re-establish ISR functionality for the UE with another old user mobility control management entity SGSN1 based on the Context obtained from the old user mobility control management entity MME1 and the relevant parameters provided by the UE in the tracking area update Request (TAU Request). In this case, in order to reduce the interaction of system signaling between the HSS and the MME, the HSS only sends a Cancel Location (Cancel Location) message to the MME1, but not sends a Cancel Location message to the SGSN1, so that the MME1 can activate the ISR function of the UE together with the SGSN1 when the UE moves back to the MME 1.
However, if the UE is attached to the new user mobility control management entity MME2 through an Attach procedure, the new user mobility control management entity MME2 does not have any ISR information about the UE, because the new user mobility control management entity MME2 does not acquire the mobility management of the UE and Context related to ISR function from the old user mobility control management entity MME1 during Attach procedure. In this way, when the UE moves from the new user mobility control management entity MME2 back to the old user mobility control management entity MME1, the UE will initiate a Tracking Area Update (TAU) operation to the old user mobility control management entity MME1, the old user mobility control management entity MME1 will fetch the ConteXt xt of the UE to the new user mobility control management entity MME2, and the ConteXt of the new user mobility control management entity MME2 has no data related to the ISR function of the UE, so the old user mobility control management entity MME1 cannot immediately activate the ISR function of the UE together with another old user mobility control management entity SGSN 1.
Since the currently defined UE Attach (Attach) procedure does not take into account any issue of ISR function activation, for the above scenario, if the old UE mobility control management entity SGSN1 and the old UE mobility control management entity MME1 activate ISR function of the UE, the HSS still keeps the identities of the old UE mobility control management entity SGSN1 and the old UE mobility control management entity MME1 serving the UE after the UE is detached; then, when the UE performs Attach again, after the UE attaches to another new UE mobility control management entity, according to the definition of ts23.401v8.1.0, the HSS sends a Cancel Location message to only one old UE mobility control management entity, that is, the HSS sends a Cancel Location message to only the old UE mobility control management entity MME 1.

It can be seen that, in the Attach process of the UE, when the new MME sends Update Location to the HSS, if the existing SGSN and MME are registered to the HSS at the same time, because the HSS only sends Cancel Location to the old MME, not only the relevant ISR establishment process cannot be optimized, but also the old SGSN still retains Context of the UE, which consumes related network resources of the SGSN, resulting in resource waste.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of the above, the main objective of the present invention is to provide a method for canceling a location in an attach process and an implementation apparatus thereof, which can delete unreleased network resources in time, reduce resource waste, and further optimize system performance.

In the foregoing solution, before the HSS sends the cancel location message, the method further includes: and the HSS judges whether the new UEMCME and the old UEMCME are the same entity, and if so, the HSS does not send a cancel location message to the old UEMCME.

an attachment flag setting unit, configured to set a message field in an update location message, and set a value of the message field according to a processing flow based on an update location;
a mark judging unit, configured to determine whether the current processing flow is a UE attach flow;
and the message sending control unit is used for sending a cancel position message to all currently registered UEMCMEs on the HSS when the UE is attached according to the determination result of the mark judging unit.
Wherein the attach flag setting unit is located in the new UEMCME; the mark distinguishing unit and the message sending control unit are positioned in the HSS.
In the above scheme, the message sending control unit sends a cancel location message only to the MME registered in the HSS; or, only sending a cancel location message to SGSN registered on HSS; or respectively sending a cancel location message to the MME and the SGSN registered on the HSS.
When UE activates ISR function and then detaches, SGSN and MME which service UE register to HSS, then when UE carries out Attach, new UE MCME sends update position information with attachment mark to HSS, HSS receives the update position information and sends cancel position information to all registered old UE MCME which service UE. Therefore, unreleased network resources can be deleted in time, the waste of resources is reduced, and the optimization of the performance of the EPS system is further ensured.

Detailed Description
The basic idea of the invention is: when UE activating ISR function carries out Attach, new UEMCME sends update position message carrying attachment mark to HSS, HSS receives the update position message, and sends cancel position message to all registered old UEMCMEs serving UE.
Here, the reason why the attach flag is added to the update location message is: for the HSS, it is not known whether the received Update location message is initiated by the UE performing a Routing Area (RA) Update procedure, or performing a location area Update procedure, or by the UE performing an Attach procedure, so for the Attach procedure, the present invention adds a message field, which may be referred to as an Update location type (Update location type) or an Update location reason (Update location cause), in the Update location message, and sets the value of the message field to Attach. Accordingly, for other cases such as an Update Location procedure in a Routing Area Update (RAU) or TAU procedure, the value of this message field is set to normal Update. Here, the setting values of attach and normal update are only an example, and any other value may be set in practical application as long as it can be distinguished whether the attachment process is performed.

The method for canceling the position in the UE attachment process of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2, includes the following steps:

Here, the 3GPP access system may be a Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN), a GSM-EGPRS radio Access network (GERAN), or an evolved Universal terrestrial radio Access network (E-UTRAN). Correspondingly, when the 3GPP access system is UTRAN or GERAN, the new UEMCME is a new SGSN; if the 3GPP access system is E-UTRAN, the new UEMCME is the new MME.
Step 202: the EPS system executes other processes 1, such as an Identification Request process, and the new UEMCME acquires the IMSI of the UE from the old UEMCME; security procedures, etc.
Step 203: the new UEMCME sends an Update Location message carrying the attachment mark to the HSS;

In addition, if the old UEMCME is the same entity as the new UEMCME, the HSS does not send a Cancel Location (IMSI) message to this same UEMCME. That is, before sending the Cancel Location message, the HSS determines whether the new ue mcme and the old ue mcme are the same entity.
Step 205: after receiving the Cancel Location (IMSI) message sent by the HSS, the old UE mcme initiates a process of deleting all EPS system bearers or PDP contexts of the UE.

In practical application, if only the old MME serving the UE is registered on the HSS, only steps 204a to 206a are performed; if only the old SGSN serving the UE is registered on the HSS, only steps 204b to 206b are performed; if the old MME and old SGSN serving the UE are included registered on the HSS, steps 204a to 206a and steps 204b to 206b are performed.
Step 207-210: the attachment procedure is completed between the HSS and the new MME as specified in the protocol TS23.401v8.1.0 or TS 23.060.

Here, the message transmission control unit may be to transmit the cancel location message only to the MME registered on the HSS; or sending cancel location message to SGSN registered on HSS; it may also be that the cancel location message is sent to the MME and SGSN registered in the HSS separately.
In practical applications, the attachment flag setting unit may be located in the new ue mcme, and the flag discrimination unit and the message transmission control unit may be located in the HSS.
