The embodiment of the invention provides a sending method for realizing short message prompt, which is particularly applied to communication terminal equipment, including a mobile terminal or a fixed terminal. The method specifically comprises the following steps:
the sending end sets short message prompt attribute in the sent short message, and can add short message prompt attribute while editing the short message or after finishing editing the short message, and send the short message with the added short message prompt attribute to the receiving terminal, wherein the short message prompt attribute represents the mode of informing the terminal user when the short message reaches the receiving terminal, and comprises the priority attribute, the sound generation attribute, the vibration attribute or the light emitting attribute of the short message. The additional characters may be read by pointing to the location of the additional characters with a pointer to the content of the short message.

According to the definition of short message format by 3GPP, the user header indicates TP-UDHI bit position 1, so that the header can be added to the content of the short message. 3GPP makes a specification for the use of IEI, where 24 ~ 6F (hex) has not been used, and an embodiment of the present invention proposes a setting of 24. IEIDL is the byte length of the data block IED, set to 1, because the IED length of an embodiment of the invention is only one Octet (byte).

The device of the receiving terminal also has the function of judging and processing the priority attribute of the short message, and the judging and processing process is as shown in fig. 3:

step 32: judging whether the received short message has the short message priority attribute, if so, executing step 33; if not, processing is carried out according to a normal processing program, namely, the receiving terminal user is prompted according to a notification mode for receiving a new short message set by the receiving terminal user, namely, the unread short message can be prompted or not displayed in any prompting mode by lighting, sounding or vibrating;
step 33: according to the mode of informing the receiving terminal represented by the short message priority attribute, namely displaying the unread short message on a screen and simultaneously displaying the priority attribute of the short message, and respectively prompting the receiving terminal user in one or any combination of sound, light or vibration prompts;
an embodiment of the present invention further provides a sending apparatus for implementing short message notification, as shown in fig. 5, including:
short message prompt attribute setting unit: the short message prompt attribute setting item is used for adding a short message prompt attribute setting item in a sent short message, wherein the short message prompt attribute represents a notification mode when the short message reaches a receiving terminal and comprises a priority attribute, a sound generation attribute, a vibration attribute or a light-emitting attribute of the short message; the setting of the short message prompt attribute comprises setting a mode that a receiving terminal of the short message informs a user by adding additional characters in the content of the short message or setting a mode that the receiving terminal of the short message informs the user by using a message header of the short message;
and the short message sending unit is used for sending the short message after the short message prompt attribute setting unit sets.
