Description

Activity recording system in set-top box and method for generating activity record
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a system for set-top box activity recording and a method for activity recording generation, and more particularly, to an analysis system and an activity recording method for generating/collecting an activity record of a set-top box user of a set-top box application operating in the set-top box.
Background
Typical computer-centric applications have different forms of record generation/collection/analysis systems. In addition to the computer aspect, the Set Top Box (STB) hardware part consists of a limited throughput component part. In contrast, the set-top box applications are extremely limited in recording generation, and therefore early set-top boxes were equipped with a small-capacity memory chip and had to be extremely limited in recording storage area in hardware.
Undoubtedly, the record of the activities of the user of the set-top box can be stored in the memory, but in this case, the confusion caused by the cost of the set-top box also increases. For this reason, the system in the set-top box contains little activity record of the generating/collecting/analyzing client.
Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing a conventional software configuration for storing set-top box records. Referring to fig. 1, the set-top box software is mainly divided into an operating system, a device driver 10, middleware 20, and an application 30. The device driver is selected primarily based on the chip used, the operating system is selected based on set-top box manufacturer preferences, and the middleware 20 and the application 30 are selected based on cable services.
In the set-top box, the recording method and interface of the device driver follow the format designed by the chip manufacturer, the recording method and interface of the operating system follow the format designed by the selected operating system, and the recording and interface of the middleware 20 and the application 30 follow the format designed by the middleware 20.
In contrast, each software module is designed to provide a logging data connection interface to the software module thereon. That is, the upper level software module contains more records to link.
U.S. registration patent No. 5964839 relates to a data auditing and collecting system, which comprises a computer including more than a minimum device and communication peripheral devices connected to data in the computer; and executable files related to a set of desktop operations, and modem connectivity for data collection and storage and for monitoring operating systems; and monitoring the desktop activities and connections in the desktop application including the virtual device.
Meanwhile, korean laid-open patent No. 10-2004-37490 relates to all systems that individually provide an event logging API (application program interface) to a set-top box, and the event logging engine respectively includes logging events generated in the event logging API.
However, when the conventional set-top box described above has a very limited hardware composition, the composition of the call-back event that is originally made by the event logging engine may cause a problem in the throughput of the set-top box. Meanwhile, there is a problem that a method of storing a real activity record of a set-top box user is not proposed. There is no proposed method for storing a record of the actual activities of the user of the set-top box, the problems associated with the recording occurring at the set-top box and the problems associated with not considering the inherent characteristics of the application program of the set-top box, each API of the respective application programs developed differently should be continuously developed and completed in the inherent environment of the set-top box. As a result, there is a problem in that continuous development of digital television services is not considered.
Disclosure of Invention
Accordingly, the present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a system and a method for generating an activity record of a set-top box, which control the form of a record generated by a plug-in program of the set-top box according to whether a user of the set-top box allows the generation of the activity record of the set-top box or in a manner that the user does not pass through the plug-in program of the set-top box, and collect and analyze the activity record generated in the individual set-.

(b) the application program of the set-top box calls the external hanging program of the set-top box attached to the application program of the set-top box;
(c) the plug-in program of the set top box confirms whether privacy policy data of a set top box user allow to generate a set top box activity record or not;
(d) if the privacy policy data allows the set-top box activity record to be generated, determining whether the record generation and transmission policy data is suitable for the set-top box activity record generated and transmitted by the set-top box plug-in program by generating the set-top box activity record allowed to be generated by the privacy policy data;
(e) if the record generation and transmission policy data are suitable for the set top box activity record generated and transmitted by the set top box plug-in program, determining the data volume of the currently stored set top box activity record;
(f) comparing the amount of data recorded for the confirmed set-top box activity with the amount of data defined in the record generation and transmission policy data;
