Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a transmission device, a transmission method, a reception device, and a reception method capable of more flexibly operating a broadcast service. Provided is a transmission device including: a generation unit that generates at least one piece of control information among a plurality of types of control information or additional information including data; and a transmission unit that transmits a physical layer frame including the additional information as a broadcast signal. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a transmission system compatible with a broadcasting system of terrestrial digital television broadcasting.The present disclosure relates to a transmission device, a transmission method, a reception device, and a reception method capable of more flexibly operating a broadcast service. Provided is a transmission device including: a generation unit that generates at least one piece of control information among a plurality of types of control information or additional information including data; and a transmission unit that transmits a physical layer frame including the additional information as a broadcast signal. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a transmission system compatible with a broadcasting system of terrestrial digital television broadcasting.
