Abstract

The contaminated water flow is recovered after the separation of a combined flow of oil and water from an oil well. The clean water steam stream is preferably passed through a steam generator to produce the steam used in the oil zone steam process. The steam is injected into the oil zone from a designated well and is then withdrawn as the combined flow of oil and water. Once primed with sufficient external water, the method and system are designed to operate continuously with minimal replenishment due to the water/steam/steam cycle.
