Abstract

Esta tecnología consiste en la cepa de Lactobacillus casei RGM A14.2. que es capaz de sobrevivir a altas concentraciones de azúcares, también se presenta un suplemento nutricional para insectos polinizadores de interés comercial, en especial para abejas (ej: Apis mellifera) y abejorros (ej: Bombus y Meliponas), que comprende la cepa Lactobacillus casei RGM A14.2 en forma liofilizada o líquida, a una concentración entre 105 a 109 UFC/mL por colmena. Este suplemento se administra disuelto en 1 L de solución de agua azucarada entre 100 y 200% (p/v), miel, polen, o espolvoreada directamente en los marcos de las colmenas. El uso del suplemento nutricional permite fortalecer las defensas de los insectos polinizadores, aumentando la expresión de los péptidos antimicrobianos, permitiendo protegerlos de patógenos como Nosema spp. y Varroa destructor; además permite aumentar la actividad y productividad de la colmena, reflejado en un incremento de su producción de miel.
