G.ràce à l'emploi de ce- troisième enrou lement alimenté par du courant alternatif on peut prévoir d'engendrer l'excitation toute entière ou de sa plus grande partie là part de l'effet réactif cles courants secondaires) nécessaire à la pro;
I>D=</I> E1 E= F1 G1 H1 Jl.
Device for the transformation of electric current. The present invention relates to <B> </B> a device for transforming electric current in which the primary winding and the secondary input of at least one transformer are each respectively interconnected in a manner. to form a closed circuit in which the sum of the electromotive forces is zero at all times, the two closed circuits being each connected to a separate series of switching devices, one to introduce and the other to debit the 'electric energy,
in a manner similar in principle to the coupling of the winding of a Gramme ring to its collector, this device being characterized by a third winding on the transformer, this winding being magnetically coupled to the primary windings and being connected and supplied by an alternating current circuit distinct from and without electrical connection with one or the other of the circuits connected to the switches, in order., to generate by this third winding the excitation necessary to produce the flux. in the transformer at the. runs stale and thus free the other circuits of this magnetization current to all charges.
Due to the use of this third winding supplied by alternating current, provision can be made to generate the entire excitation or of its greatest part there part of the reactive effect of the secondary currents) necessary for the pro ;
The action of the fluxes in the transformers, the circuits connected to the switches being thus freed from the need to provide this excitation with its accompanying effect of deformation of the current curve, which can. interfere with switching.
Thanks to this device it is possible to obtain the regulation of the voltage distribution in the closed circuit. and moreover, as stated above to generate a counter-electromotive force in the closed circuit, acting on the switch and on the brushes before the engagement of the. primary current.
This avoids too much. current, which can be dangerous when it is switched on. when it comes to voltages of the order of magnitude of 1011000 volts, the distribution of voltaz around the, or switches. being t-regulated to a certain extent.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention: comprising. a device for the transformation of direct current of a certain voltage into direct current of --nitre t.en@ion.
Fig. 7. schematically represents the device; The fi ,. N is. a diagramm, e, of phases. Two three-column transformers, A and B. are connected to the switching device comprising the three switches <I> C D </I> and L ', and. four collector rings F <I> G H </I> and <I> J. </I>
The_@. and the rings are fixed, and each provided respectively with two and a halais, designated by C 'C' Dl <I> D = </I> E1 E = F1 G1 H1 Jl.
These brushes are all carried by a uniclu- K shaft, co_n-nandé by a synchronous motor Kt. Provided with an exciter K '.
Correct operation requires that the bays ii (- not only be driven at a determined speed of rotation, but that they are also synchronized so that each brush knows at any time located at a point of its corresponding switch. electrically to the brush setting point of an ordinary DC machine.
In other words, nodes of the distribution of electro force: motor around the commutator, revolve around the latter, and each brush must constantly coincide with, king at least be in the immediate vicinity. of these nodes.
In order to always fulfill this condition. a means can be provided for slowing down or increasing the speed of the shaft, either by making the field inti> iisity of the syncfron.e motor which controls it, or by moving the stator. of this motor around the axis of rotation.
In the drawing :, the three brush holders C 'D and E are shown, # entered parallel to each other. However. in some cases it can. be ii ('.¯essary d (: shift them relative to each other by any suitable means, for example an adjustable coupling sleeve K "as shown in the drawing.
The same result can be achieved by connecting the segments of a switch in such a way to the windings of its circuit, that they are angularly advanced with respect to the same segments of another switch, connected to the corresponding windings of its circuit. closed circuit.
The brushes Fl is connected to the brushes C1 by means of a conductor mounted on the shaft K and rotating with it, as are the brushes C '<I> to Dl, </I> D' <I> to </ I> Gl, Hl to El and E2 to .1 '.
The collector rings F and G are. each connected to a main conductor 1, different, likewise the rings <I> H </I> and <I> J </I> each to a different main conductor II. These main conductors 1 and II are respectively traversed by very high and medium voltage direct current. It is a question of: - raising <B> the </B> voltage, the conductors II serve with direct current - coming from the current source and conductors 1 with the current, the voltage of which has been raised at movc # ii of the transformation mechanism.
Each column of transformers: I and B carries four windings X 1- L and Z. Those designated by 1 are, connected between euv and to the segments of switch C, as shown in the drawing. so as to produce a. sequence of phase shift angles between successive switching segments (fig. 2).
The en: roulenienfs designated by 3 '. are linked to each other and to the switch D, and the Z windings are. connected to each other and to their switch E, thus forming closed circuits, in which the sum of the electromotive forces is zero at any time The connections between the windings I 'and Z el,
switches D and / i are not shown in the drawing.
The windings L are connected to the three main conductors <I> ab </I> r of a triph, ased line, so as to produce f1111 following one another at the angles of pi ,, asc, qué in the diagram of fig. 2 whose vectors are numbered from 1 to 6 as the columns of transformers,
1A to 6A indicating windings reversed with respect to those bearing corresponding numbers, 5A being the winding. similar to that designated by: a but whose connections are reversed with respect to the latter.
The current coming from. from line <I> a </I> 1) c. is used to power the hl motor, which will be advantageously chosen (the type operating as an asynchronous motor when starting, and then as an asynchronous motor.
To operate the device, we start the motor Kl and when it arrives in phase, we connect it for the synchronous ground, and we then engage the current (see circuit <I> ab </I> c on the windings <I> L. </I> This results in en'zendrer a voltage between each pair of segments (each of the CD e1 E controllers,
such that the successive ratios <B> (the </B> their phases are those indicated by the diabramnia of the fib.?. Now, can, now engage the direct current on the conductors (line II and take of the boosted direct current at, the starting line 1.
During the vacuum niai-he of a transformer the. The form of the curve of the primary current is different (that of the curve of the secondary current. The difference arises from the fact that the primary winding constantly requires a component of current representing the no-load current for the magnetization of iron.
It will therefore be necessary; that, if the secondary current curve is exactly sinusoidal, the current curve. either. a sinusoidal curve cIo forms exactly equal 2t opposite to this one (measured in ampere-turns) composed. with the aforesaid component (you run empty.
It is obvious that by feeding the winding. ct'excit.ation by him current equivalent. at the aforementioned no-load component a distortion of the primary current curve can be avoided and thus the number of primary and secondary ampere-turns will be uniform at all times.
We can vice versa. by using the positive say as tr @ arrsforrnate, ur reducing agent. that is to say, introduce current. continuous high voltage on line 1 and. take current <B> (the, </B> lows voltage on line II. the role played by winding L being important in this case, because of the counter-electromotive force acting: at the switches C and 1>. before the arrival of the high voltage current.
