For its action the invention exploits a special combination and the interaction between magnetic fields and radiofrequency fields.
ARTE ANTERIOREFRONT ART
It is indicated in cases where it is necessary to stimulate tissue regeneration after various types of damaging events: • rehabilitation of bone fractures, • treatment of vascular ulcers (diabetes), • anatomical and functional recovery of injured nerves, • reduction of disfiguring skin scars, • treatment of bruises, joint sprains and small muscle-joint injuries.
Inoltre l’azione svolta dai campi magnetici sui radicali liberi, sugli oligoelementi e sulle sostanze ferromagnetiche dell’ambiente intracellulare, contribuisce a mantenere l’equilibrio omeostatico della cellula. Tale campo elettromagnetico alternato produce calore endogeno per effetto Joule.[0003] The use of magnetic fields on the human body enhances the body's defenses with electrical repolarization of cell membranes, produces an anti-stress action, regenerates the injured cells improving kinetics. Furthermore, the action carried out by magnetic fields on free radicals, on trace elements and on ferromagnetic substances of the intracellular environment, contributes to maintaining the homeostatic balance of the cell. Therefore, the Magnetotherapy promotes an acceleration of all the reparative phenomena with biorigenerating, anti-inflammatory, anti-edema and analgesic action. Magnetic fields are divided into: • constant magnetic fields, • time-varying magnetic fields or buttons Constant magnetic fields are generated by permanent magnets or electromagnets in which a constant direct current flows. Permanent magnets are made of special ferromagnetic alloys with high permeability; they often have the form of circular plates, which are applied in contact with the part to be treated. This method is applied in musculoskeletal pain, both of inflammatory and traumatic origin, by placing the magnets directly on the painful areas and on the so-called Trigger Points, ie those small skin areas that, when stimulated, produce pain at a distance. The generated magnetic field is very high, from 3000 to 10.000 Gauss or more, but since it decreases rapidly away from the source, it is necessary to apply the magnet much closer to the area to be treated. Variable or pulsed magnetic fields distinguish in high electromagnetic fields (over MHz) and low frequency (1 to 3000 Hz). High frequency pulsed magnetic fields use frequencies in the range of 1-300 MHz, pulsating outputs from 5 to 600 times per second and maintained at a power of just a few Watts, so as not to produce any significant temperature increase in the treated tissues. In practice, a generator is used connected to diffusers that are applied directly in contact with the skin or in the immediate vicinity, since the intensity of the field generated is quickly exhausted with increasing distance. Magnetotherapy with low-frequency pulsed magnetic fields is today considered a valid physical therapy, with positive biological effects, indicated especially in the treatment of bone fractures and inflammatory and chronic-degenerative diseases. Radiofrequency devices develop an electromagnetic field between two electrodes placed in contact with the area to be treated; a sinusoidal alternating current with variable frequency is used, adjustable in amplitude. This alternating electromagnetic field produces endogenous heat due to the Joule effect.
This mechanism produces numerous effects: - Stimulation of the lymphatic system, which increases the drainage of the fluids present between the capillary walls and cellular membranes (interstitial space), modification of capillary permeability, which facilitates the reabsorption of any edemas or payments; - Increased blood supply, with activation of pre-capillary and capillary microcirculation, with consequent greater intake of nutrients and elimination of catabolites; - Increase of the cellular metabolic activity, with acceleration of the natural reparative processes of the organism; - Stimulation of the release of endorphins, with a consequent reduction in pain. The therapy is used through two different modes of operation: Capacitive and Resistive.
Capacitive mode [0005] The capacitive mode acts specifically on fabrics characterized by high percentage of liquid and low resistance to current; then muscle tissue, connective tissue, circulatory system and lymphatic system.
Resistive mode [0006] The resistive mode is developed with an active electrode in non-insulated metal and allows concentrating the therapeutic action on tissues that offer greater resistance to the electromagnetic field, such as bone, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, aponeurosis, scar tissue and fibrotic. In both modes the counter-electrode consists of a metal plate of much greater dimensions than the active electrodes. Currently there are no systems analogous to the invention, which exploit the combined action and therefore the interaction between magnetic fields and radiofrequency, self-explanatory, physiotherapeutic activity.
DESCRIZIONE DELL’INVENZIONEDESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The device exploits the effects of nuclear magnetic resonance, or precession effect of the spins of the protons of an atom.
[0008] Sottoposti a campo magnetico i protoni hanno una data velocità di precessione dato dal rapporto giromagnetico, ovvero ad una data intensità di campo magnetico (CM) la velocità di precessione assume un preciso valore, ad esempio ad 1 tesla la velocità di precessione dei protoni dell’idrogeno è di circa 40 MHzTale legge è perfettamente lineare, ovvero a 2 tesla la velocità sarà doppia.[0008] Protons subjected to a magnetic field have a given precession speed given by the gyromagnetic ratio, ie at a given magnetic field intensity (CM) the precession speed assumes a precise value, for example at 1 tesla the precession speed of the hydrogen protons is about 40 MHz. This law is perfectly linear, ie at 2 tesla the speed will be double.
[0009] Per chiarezza si riportano i rapporti giromagnetici (RG) di alcuni atomi:[0009] For the sake of clarity, the giromagnetic ratios (RG) of some atoms are reported:
Tabella 1 [0010]Table 1 [0010]
Administering radiofrequency at the same frequency as the precession speed of the nucleus, it absorbs energy, the precession increases in intensity and, if we imagine a spinning top, its rotation axis moves downwards. When the radiofrequency administration ceases to be delivered, the nucleus returns energy and its axis returns to its original position.
The invention exploits this principle, called Larmor Precession effect, previously described. The reference problem is that the magnetic field has strong temporal variations due to the inductor L (5) supply and spatial variations due to the natural divergence of the magnetic field. Since each nucleus of atomic species has its own precise precession speed (see table above) it is necessary to administer the frequency corresponding to the magnetic field and the corresponding gyromagnetic ratio in each place and at any time, so that RG = fO / CM the first expedient adopted by the invention is to rapidly change the frequency of the radiofrequency generator (9), essentially changing the frequency between a minimum and maximum value in a continuous or discontinuous manner (frequency modulation).
The alternative is to use a generator (9) with a non-sinusoidal signal capable of producing a broad frequency spectrum, in both cases the minimum and maximum frequencies must satisfy the following requirements: [0013] The minimum frequency and 'then fmin = RG * CMmin where CMmine is the minimum magnetic field that is intended to be used therapeutically (typical values are 10gauss).
RG in ogni caso dipende dal bersaglio terapeutico secondo la Tabella 1.[0014] The maximum frequency is therefore fmax = RG * CMmax where CMmax is the maximum magnetic field intended to be used therapeutically (typical values are 5 Tesla). RG in any case depends on the therapeutic target according to Table 1.
The aim of the invention is therefore to combine the magnetic field and radiofrequency with the Larmor Precession effect, that is the magnetic resonance of the nuclei to supply energy to them. To this effect and to the benefits deriving from it to the biochemical complexes, the classic effects already known deriving from the magnetic and radiofrequency fields are added.
1 composed of a capacitive discharge system on an inductor designed to generate the magnetic field.
The effect of magnetic fields according to Larmor can be summarized by the Lorentz-Langevin equation given below.
[0018] Dove r è il vettore di posizione dello ione; Bèil coefficiente di smorzamento viscoso per unità di massa (a causa di collisioni molecolari nel bagno termico), y è il rapporto di carica ionica al rapporto di massa; Bo è la grandezza del vettore del campo magnetico; K è il vettore dell’unità lungo l’asse z; Ω è la frequenza angolare dell’oscillatore e n è la forza di rumore termica casuale per massa unitaria.[0018] Where r is the position vector of the ion; B is the viscous damping coefficient per unit of mass (due to molecular collisions in the thermal bath), y is the ratio of ionic charge to the mass ratio; Bo is the magnitude of the magnetic field vector; K is the vector of the unit along the z axis; Ω is the angular frequency of the oscillator and n is the force of random thermal noise by unit mass.
