Abstract

The pen (1) has an elongated stem (2) provided at one end (2e) with a coaxial cavity (3) inside which a rounded tip (4) is housed and retained. The tip is made of monocrystalline synthetic ruby or sapphire and ceramic materials.

Description

       

  [0001] La presente invenzione riguarda il campo tecnologico degli accessori per apparecchi elettronici di tipo informatico, telefonico ecc.

[0002] Più in particolare essa si riferisce al settore che si occupa della realizzazione di penne atte a scrivere o digitare su schermi e/o tastiere di apparecchi elettronici quali computer, agende, palmari, telefoni e simili.
Come è noto, tali penne sono costituite da uno stelo elongato, adatto a venire impugnato come quello di una normale penna per scrittura, provvisto di una cavità coassiale progettata e realizzata in modo da poter alloggiare al suo interno una punta arrotondata che ne fuoriesce parzialmente onde poter svolgere le sue sopradescritte funzioni.

[0003] Secondo l'attuale Stato della Tecnica tali punte sono realizzate in una delle diverse resine sintetiche note per applicazioni di questo genere.
Tali resine,

   oltre ad essere sensibili all'abrasione, presentano una rugosità ed/od una porosità che, pur essendo limitate, comportano l'assorbimento di piccoli corpi estranei quali pulviscolo, polveri ecc. che, aderendo sulla superficie della punta, alterano la forma del punto di contatto fra la punta stessa e l'oggetto sul quale essa deve scorrere per svolgere le sue funzioni.
Ciò comporta fra l'altro una minor precisione nel tracciamento di linee su schermi e simili, oltre ad un'usura degli schermi stessi che ne può col tempo compromettere la funzionalità.

[0004] L'inventore dell'oggetto della presente domanda ha pensato che si potessero evitare tutti gli inconvenienti di cui sopra sostituendo i materiali a tutt'oggi impiegati per realizzare le sopradescritte punte con degli altri molto più resistenti all'abrasione e privi di rugosità e porosità.

   Egli ha perciò selezionato un gruppo di materiali, oggi usati per applicazioni totalmente diverse a causa del loro costo relativamente elevato, basandosi sulla convinzione che, dato il ridotto volume di una punta, l'aggravio di costo per l'impiego dei detti materiali viene largamente compensato dalla durata enormemente maggiore delle funzionalità di una penna, nonché dall'assenza degli inconvenienti illustrati sopra riguardante il formarsi di incrostazioni e simili che possono danneggiare le apparecchiature elettroniche sulle quali una penna opera.

[0005] I materiali scelti dall'inventore per realizzare la punta di una penna secondo l'invenzione sono: pietre dure monocristalline naturali o (preferibilmente per motivi di costo) sintetiche, quali il rubino e lo zaffiro, e materiali ceramici, denominati generalmente come "ceramiche tecniche".

   Tutti i materiali suddetti hanno in comune le caratteristiche di durezza superficiale necessarie per ottenere i vantaggi illustrati in precedenza e, mediante operazioni di molatura, levigatura, spazzolatura ecc. di tipo noto si ottiene un grado di finitura superficiale eccezionalmente elevato, senza rugosità o porosità di entità rilevabile.

[0006] L'oggetto della presente invenzione è pertanto costituito da una penna adatta a scrivere e/o digitare come descritta nella allegata rivendicazione 1.

[0007] Verrà ora descritto in modo più dettagliato un preferito esempio realizzativo della penna dell'invenzione, facendo anche riferimento ai disegni allegati, nei quali:
<tb>la fig. 1<sep>è una sezione longitudinale ingrandita del detto esempio realizzativo della penna dell'invenzione che evidenzia la posizione della punta;


  <tb>la fig. 2<sep>è una vista laterale ancora più ingrandita della sola punta della penna della fig. 1.

[0008] Se si considera la fig. 1, in essa si scorge come una penna 1 secondo l'invenzione comprenda, come del resto le penne analoghe di tipo noto, uno stelo 2 elongato, provvisto di una cavità 3 coassiale atta ad alloggiare una punta 4 arrotondata, trattenendola al suo interno.
La detta cavità 3 in fig. 1 si estende per tutta la lunghezza dello stelo 2, ma potrebbe anche essere di lunghezza più ridotta, limitata alla sola porzione terminale dello stelo alloggiante la punta 4.
La cavità 3 di cui sopra nella fattispecie è una sede di forma cilindrica, rastremata verso l'esterno in corrispondenza della punta 4, in modo da trattenerla lasciandone sporgere verso l'esterno soltanto un'estremità 4f.

[0009] Nel caso qui considerato la punta 4, meglio illustrata nella fig.

   2, ha la forma di un cilindro con le due estremità 4f, 4g, arrotondate sfericamente, ed è ricavata in uno dei materiali già elencati in precedenza, ossia in rubino o zaffiro naturale o sintetico o in una ceramica tecnica.
Per mantenere la punta 4 nella posizione desiderata possono essere impiegati sistemi analoghi a quelli usati per le punte di penna a sfera, ad esempio, come mostra la fig. 1, mediante un'anima 5, inserita nella cavità 3, munita o meno di una molla di riscontro 6 e mantenuta in posizione da un cappellotto 7 applicato sull'estremità dello stelo 2 opposta a quella ospitante la punta 4.

   Altri tipi di fissaggio della punta possono venire utilizzate senza minimamente compromettere i risultati ottenibili con la penna dell'invenzione, che dipendono essenzialmente dal tipo di materiale impiegato per realizzare la sua punta.

[0010] Un'ultima nota: nel caso illustrato la punta 4 ha entrambi gli estremi 4f, 4g arrotondati sfericamente: a seconda delle esigenze progettuali la punta 4 può anche avere un solo estremo arrotondato, quello 4f destinato a sporgere dalla sopradescritta cavità 3, o può avere una forma sferica (questi due casi non sono rappresentati nei disegni).

As is known, such pens are constituted by an elongated stem, adapted to be gripped like that of a normal pen for writing, provided with a coaxial cavity designed and made so as to be able to house a rounded tip inside it which partially protrudes to be able to carry out its functions described above.

[0003] According to the current state of the art, these tips are made of one of the various synthetic resins known for applications of this kind.
These resins,

   in addition to being sensitive to abrasion, they have a roughness and / or a porosity which, despite being limited, involve the absorption of small foreign bodies such as dust, dust, etc. which, by adhering to the surface of the tip, alter the shape of the point of contact between the point itself and the object on which it must slide to perform its functions.
This entails, among other things, a lower precision in the tracing of lines on screens and the like, in addition to a wear on the screens themselves which can in time compromise the functionality.

[0004] The inventor of the object of the present application has thought that all the aforementioned drawbacks could be avoided by replacing the materials still used to make the aforementioned points with others much more resistant to abrasion and without roughness and porosity.

   He has therefore selected a group of materials, today used for totally different applications due to their relatively high cost, based on the belief that, given the small volume of a tip, the cost increase for the use of these materials is largely compensated for by the enormously greater duration of the functions of a pen, as well as by the absence of the disadvantages illustrated above regarding the formation of incrustations and the like which can damage the electronic equipment on which a pen operates.

[0005] The materials chosen by the inventor to make the tip of a pen according to the invention are: natural monocrystalline or (preferably for cost reasons) synthetic hard stones, such as ruby and sapphire, and ceramic materials, generally referred to as "technical ceramics".

   All the aforementioned materials have in common the surface hardness characteristics necessary to obtain the advantages illustrated above and, by means of grinding, polishing, brushing, etc. of a known type, an exceptionally high degree of surface finish is obtained, without a roughness or porosity of a detectable size.

[0006] The object of the present invention is therefore constituted by a pen suitable for writing and / or typing as described in the attached claim 1.

[0007] A preferred embodiment of the pen of the invention will now be described in more detail, also referring to the attached drawings, in which:
fig. 1 is an enlarged longitudinal section of said embodiment of the pen of the invention which highlights the position of the tip;


  fig. 2 is a still more enlarged side view of the tip of the pen of FIG. 1.

[0008] If we consider fig. 1, therein it can be seen how a pen 1 according to the invention comprises, as indeed the analogous pens of a known type, an elongated stem 2, provided with a coaxial cavity 3 able to house a rounded tip 4, retaining it inside it.
The said cavity 3 in fig. 1 extends over the entire length of the stem 2, but could also be of shorter length, limited only to the end portion of the stem housing the tip 4.
The above cavity 3 in this case is a cylindrical seat, tapered towards the outside at the tip 4, so as to hold it, leaving only one end 4f protruding outwards.

[0009] In the case considered here, the tip 4, better illustrated in fig.

   2, has the shape of a cylinder with the two ends 4f, 4g, spherically rounded, and is formed in one of the materials already listed above, ie in natural or synthetic ruby or sapphire or in a technical ceramic.
To maintain the tip 4 in the desired position systems similar to those used for ballpoint pen tips can be used, for example, as shown in FIG. 1, by means of a core 5, inserted in the cavity 3, provided or not with an abutment spring 6 and kept in position by a cap 7 applied on the end of the stem 2 opposite to the one hosting the tip 4.

   Other types of fixing of the tip can be used without in any way compromising the results obtainable with the pen of the invention, which essentially depend on the type of material used to make its tip.

[0010] One last note: in the case shown, the tip 4 has both ends spherically rounded 4f, 4g: depending on the design requirements, the tip 4 can also have only one rounded end, the one 4f intended to protrude from the aforementioned cavity 3, or it can have a spherical shape (these two cases are not represented in the drawings).


    

Claims (6)
