Fig. 1 zeigt die Isolierelementanordnung in einer Seitenansicht.
Isolierelementen.
The invention relates to an insulating arrangement for pipes according to the preamble of claim 1.
A fundamental disadvantage of insulating elements made of foamed, synthetic rubber is that they are relatively soft and susceptible to external damage. If such insulating used outdoors, so u.a. the danger that they will be damaged by animal foreign influences.
It is therefore an object of the invention to improve a trained according to the preamble of claim 1 insulating arrangement such that the insulating is protected from external influences, the insulation assembly should be simple and inexpensive to produce.
This object is achieved by the features cited in the characterizing part of claim 1.
By arranging a flexible, radially expandable and UV-resistant jacket on the outside of the insulating element, the insulating element is protected against mechanical external damage.
Preferred embodiments of the invention are listed in the dependent claims 2 to 4.
In a preferred embodiment, the jacket is formed as a tubular, stretchable, textile fabric, in particular a round-knit plastic mesh is to be used.
An embodiment of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to a drawing. In this drawing: FIG. 1 shows a side view of the insulating element arrangement, and FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the insulating element arrangement.
Fig. 1 shows the Isolierelementanordnung in a side view. The pipe 1 to be insulated is enclosed by an insulating element which is not apparent from this illustration. The insulating element is preferably made of a foamed, synthetic rubber (EPDM), which has a closed, non-hygroscopic cell structure. On the outside of the insulating a jacket 2 in the form of a tubular textile fabric is attached. This sheet is preferably formed as a round-knit plastic braid. The loosely pushed onto the insulating plastic braid is fixed in both end by means of an adhesive tape 5, 6. In order to ensure long-term stable protection outdoors, the mesh consists of a UV and weather-resistant plastic.
The plastic braid forming the sheath 2 consists of a multiplicity of individual fibers 3, a plurality of fibers being combined to form a flat strand 4, and the individual strands being forsworn with each other at an angle to the longitudinal axis L of the sheath 2 or the pipe 1 run. Although the individual fibers 3 of the plastic braid are not elastic, the braid is expandable in the radial direction. This has the advantage that the jacket 2 can be adapted to insulating elements with different diameters and shapes. Another advantage is that the relatively soft insulating element is not compressed by the jacket 2, as would be the case for example with an elastic jacket.
In addition, such a jacket 2 is very flexible, so that curved and / or angled insulating can be protected with it. Finally, the jacket can also absorb thermally induced strains or shrinkages and / or age-related dimensional changes of the insulating easily.
Fig. 2 shows the Isolierelementanordnung in an enlarged view in cross section. From the inside to the outside are to be insulated pipe 1, the insulating member 7, the casing 2 forming plastic braid and the adhesive tape 6 can be seen.
The sheath 2 shown in the form of a round-knit plastic braid is inexpensive to implement, provides good protection against external mechanical effects, is easy to install on the insulating element and adapts to the various forms of insulating. For example, such a jacket 2 is also suitable for the simultaneous sheathing of two or more parallel tubes or insulating elements.
