The present invention relates to the field of accessories and devices used for the hygiene of dogs. More particularly, the device object of the invention is useful for granting dogs the freedom to be able to defecate without, however, dirtying the streets, sidewalks, parks and city gardens, as is the case today. In other words, it can be defined as a diaper for dogs.
The object of the present invention is made up of a diaper for dogs characterized by the characterizing part of the attached claim 1.
The more detailed description of an embodiment of a dog diaper according to the present invention will now be made, also referring to the attached drawings which represent: in fig. 1 the plan view of a back of rubber or the like; in fig. 2 the side view of a plastic ring which can be connected to the said back of fig. 1; in fig. 3 its front view; in fig. 4 the view of a longitudinal section of a cardboard ring which can be connected to the ring of figs. 2 and 3; in fig. 5 his front view; in fig. 6 the side view of a paper container for the excrement of the dog with a closing cord; in fig. 7 its front view; in fig. 8 the longitudinal section of a conical cardboard protection in which the container of figs is inserted
6, 7; in fig. 9 a front view thereof; in fig. 10 the front view of a cardboard ring to which the closing rope of the paper container of the figs is secured; 6, 7; in fig. 11 its front view; in figs 12, 13 of the elastic bands with different shapes for fixing the elements of the figs. from 2 to 11 to the back of fig. 1; in fig. 14 the front view of a strip of paper which, when glued to the inside of the conical protection of figures 8, 9, secures this to the ring of figs 2, 3, crossing it diametrically; in fig.
15 the partially exploded view of the assembly of the elements shown in the preceding figures, with some of these seen in section; in fig. 16 the exploded side view, partially sectioned, of a cylindrical button constituted by two coaxial parts connectable by pressure; in fig. 17 the exploded front view of the two parts of the button of fig. 16; in fig. 18 the partially sectioned exploded side view of the assembly of the elements of the preceding figures applied to the body of a dog.
The diaper for dogs is composed of eight elements assembled together.
With reference to the figures it can be seen that, in fig. 1, the first element is formed by a "back" 1 of rubber, plastic or leather, fixed by nails 2.
This is mounted on the dog's back and properly fastened with buckles 3. It has the function of supporting and positioning the other elements.
In fact, it has four cylindrical metal buttons 4 which act as a clip for a second element by means of elastic bands 5, 6 (see figures 12 and 13).
The backrest has holes for mounting the four buttons 4, which are already prepared for a pressure mounting being made up of two parts able to be joined together exerting a pressure on them (see fig. 16 and 17).
The second element 7 (fig. 2, 3) is composed of a ring 8 of hard plastic with a hemispherical cushion 9 of soft rubber 9 applied on one side. This cushion 9 has the purpose of canceling the rubbing of the ring 8 on the dog's seat allowing the ring to always remain in the correct position.
On the opposite side are inserted through holes appropriately applied on one side of the ring of the appropriate plastic clips 10 in circular sequence. Their purpose is to hook the second element 7 with the third element described further on (see fig. 4 and 5).
On the said side there is also a diametral contour 11 slightly chamfered for a sufficient depth so that during assembly the second and third elements fit together perfectly.
The central hole of the ring 8 must be adequate for the size of the anus of the different breeds of dogs.
Furthermore, the part of the outermost contour facing the dog's tail has a semicircular bevel 13 which allows the tail greater freedom of movement.
The ring 8 also has on the outermost most contour of the semicircular projections 14 (fins) centrally drilled thus allowing the assembly of metal pressure buttons equal to those 4 which are found on the first element 1 (such buttons are better represented in Fig. 16 and 17).
The fixing of the ring 8 and its correct positioning are carried out by means of the said elastic bands 5, 6 of Figs. 12, 13 fixed to the metal buttons 4 of the first 1 and of the second element 7. In order for the ring 8 to be positioned perfectly with respect to the dog's bottom allowing it to walk and allowing a movement of the natural tail, the soft rubber pad 9 must be of anatomical shape against the different seats of different breeds of dogs.
A modification must be made on the ring 8 of the second element to allow the bitches to urinate more easily.
It is a semicircular bevel that is practiced at 180 degrees from the first bevel 13, which has been practiced to allow the tail greater mobility.
This modification will also relate to the fixing "fins" 14. In fact, the fin 14 and the plastic clip 10 (split closure) which are on the vertical of the semicircular bevel will be eliminated. (This change is not shown in the drawings).
To fix the element 7 on the element 1 the two elastic bands 5, 6 (fig. 12, 13) already mentioned will be used.
The third element consists of a cardboard ring 12 (fig. 4 and 5). This has the diameter of the central hole 12f of the same dimensions as the diameter of the central hole 11 of the ring 7 of the second element 8.
The part with the smaller external diameter of the ring 12 has a complementary shape to the plastic clips 10 which are on the second element. In this way the third element can be joined with the second element 7 by means of these clips.
The part with the smaller external diameter also has two holes (slots) 12q of sufficient size for the passage of a strip of paper 16 (Fig. 14) which passes through both.
On the part of the ring 12 having a larger external diameter a through hole 21 has been made with a diameter of 2-3 mm in order to allow the passage of a rope 17 of a container 18 represented in figs. 6, 7.
In fact, the fourth element consists of a conical-shaped container 18. The manufacture of this element is arranged in such a way as to allow the container an extension min and max (accordion). This particular allows the container 18 to automatically and completely open allowing an optimal storage of the excrement.
By pulling the cord 17 the inlet of the container 18 closes hermetically. In fact at the entrance a sheet 18p of plastic (polyethylene) was provided. This sheet has the shape of a ring fixed with its outer edge on the outer edge of the paper container 18 with glue.
On the inside edge of the sheet the rope 17 is inserted through the specific 18m holes made in the 18p plastic sheet (system similar to that used for garbage bags).
The fifth element consists of a cardboard cone 19 (fig. 8, 9) of sufficient size to incorporate the said second and third elements so that it is a whole (cartridge).
The tip of the cone of the paper container 18 (fourth element) is fixed with glue to the inner end of the cone 19. This element 19 allows the covering of the elements 7, 12, 18 and facilitates the opening of the container 18 once it is operated the mechanism.
The sixth element consists of a cardboard ring 20 (fig. 10, 11) which allows the handle of the closing cord 17 of the paper container 18. This element is made by gluing together two cardboard rings. Before this operation, the closing cord 17 of the container 18 must be interposed between the two cardboard rings, which was first threaded through the said hole 21 having a diameter of 2-3 mm of the element 12.
The seventh element is formed by four elastics which serve to fasten and position the second element 7 which, once positioned, must be positioned with the central hole exactly facing the center of the anus.
The seventh element is in fact composed of elastic bands of two varieties 5, 6 (fig. 12, 13). Among them are simple elastic 5 that are positioned one under the belly of the dog and two laterally.
Another one is an elastic (6) in the shape of (Y) which is positioned with a lace on the back of the dog and with the remaining two strings symmetrical to the appropriate upper fins 14 of the element 7 as described.
The (Y) shape of this elastic has been chosen to allow the dog's tail to be circumvented.
The fixing of the four elastics 5, 6 is ensured by the cylindrical pressure buttons 4 which are located on the element 1 and on the element 7.
The eighth element consists of a strip of paper 16 with the section weakened centrally by two recesses 16i on the two sides in the shape of a triangle (fig. 14). This incision allows the paper strip 16 to break more easily once it is stressed by the pressure of the dog's excrement.
A first end of the strip 16 must be fixed on the inner surface of the cone 19 for about one centimeter with some glue.
Then the second end of the strip is inserted through the holes 12q (slots) of the cardboard ring 12 and also fixed with glue on the inner surface of the cone 19 exactly at 180 degrees from the first end.
This strip serves as a connecting element between the cardboard ring 12 and the cardboard protection cone 19 containing the paper container 18, forming a single element (cartridge) which will be replaced once used.
Said strip 16 furthermore, breaking under the pressure of the excrement of the dog frees the paper container 18 allowing the dog to defecate correctly.
The advantage of this diaper for dogs 22, in addition to keeping streets, sidewalks and city parks cleaner, is to exempt the owner of the dog from the unpleasant task of collecting the excrement left by it.
As far as the inventor is aware, at the current state of the art, the only system for collecting a dog's excrement requires the use of a shovel and their deposit in special bins. In the Netherlands, attempts were made with special dog toilets, but without success.
The object of the invention is to keep our streets, our sidewalks, our parks and public gardens cleaner because the dog's excrements are stored in the special paper container and then eliminated by the dog's owner, it is also convenient from an ecological point of view, as the cartridge, which is replaced from time to time after use, is built with biodegradable materials (paper, cardboard, rope).
The assembly of the elements constituting a diaper for dogs 22 according to the invention is better represented in figs. 15, 18. (In this last one is also visible a dog 30 to which the diaper 20 is applied).
