Gondeln 5 an.
The invention relates to a chain store and a method for loading the chain store, namely a chain store according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method according to the preamble of claim 4.
The chain store and the method can be used, for example, for the intermediate storage of food packages, for example for storing chocolate bars.
Chain stores are conveyor devices that are integrated into an overall production system used to manufacture a product and are used for buffering and / or temporarily storing the goods to be conveyed. Chain stores can be arranged, for example, between two processing devices treating the material to be conveyed, in order to maintain the operation of the entire production system at least for a certain time in the event of a temporary failure of a processing device.
However, chain stores can also be used to store and transport similar objects arriving at irregular intervals in such a way that they are subsequently forwarded at a constant distance to a conveyor belt adjoining the chain store.
In known chain stores for the intermediate storage of objects on trays suspended on two chains, the chains of the loading and unloading drive, each driven by a drive motor, are moved intermittently, i.e. they stand still, while objects are loaded onto the trays at the loading station and from the loading station at the unloading station Trays are unloaded.
In order, for example, to stop the trays at the level of a conveyor belt leading away during the loading process, known, automatically operating chain stores have an electronically and / or electrically controllable control device.
When a first tray arrives at the loading station in a chain store with an automatically operating loading station, the control device switches off the drive motor of the chain store or disengages the drive drum from the gearbox in such a way that the tray stops at the level of the incoming conveyor belt. The objects are then delivered to the ready tray by the continuously moving conveyor belt. As soon as this pushing-off process is completed, the movement of the chains is switched on again by the control device, so that the next tray reaches the loading station and the process described above can be repeated.
These known chain stores now have the disadvantage that the corresponding chain drive devices have to be switched off for each loading process, which not only reduces the effective conveying speed of the loading section of the chain store, but also produces unfavorable rocking movements of those trays whose suspension devices run over a deflection roller, which is what Operational safety interferes and the life of the chain drive device is reduced.
Another problem that occurs with known chain stores is that the production speed in the most varied of manufacturing plants increases more and more, so that the absorption capacity of the chain stores has to be increased, which, finally, is very often critical or even critical in the intermittent movement of the loading area described above is no longer feasible.
The invention is based on the object of creating a chain store with a novel loading station which does not have the disadvantages of the known chain store. The loading station is intended in particular to enable the objects to be loaded onto the trays of the storage device relatively quickly and in a time-saving manner.
This object is achieved by a chain store with the features of claim 1 and a method for loading the chain store with the features of claim 4.
Advantageous refinements of the chain store and the method emerge from the dependent claims.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the drawing.
The only figure in the drawing shows a loading area 1 of a chain store and an associated loading station 2, which in turn has a horizontal conveyor belt 3 as an essential element.
The chain store is designed, for example, as described in detail in DE-G 9 012 074.4. In the present case, it has in particular a large number of gondolas 5, which in turn are provided with a plurality of, for example six, trays 6 for receiving the objects 4 and are suspended from two chains 7 running vertically over a plurality of deflection rollers.
As can be seen from the figure, the conveyor belt 3 is closely connected with its discharge edge 3a to the trays 6 or gondolas 5 moving downwards in the direction of the arrow 8. When the loading device 2 is in operation, the conveyor belt 3 is driven by a motor (not shown) in such a way that it rotates in the direction of the arrow 9, i.e. from the drive wheel 10 via a deflection roller 11 to a further deflection roller 12 forming the discharge edge 3a and from there back to the drive wheel 10. The motor driving the drive wheel 10 is also connected via an electrical control line 13 to a central control system 14, which will be described in more detail below.
At the left end of the conveyor belt 3 in the drawing, ie at the deflection roller 11, a light barrier 15 is attached at a fixed distance d from the discharge edge 3a, which is also connected to the central control system 14 via an electrical line 16.
The system also has two conveyor belts 17 and 18, which are arranged in front of the belt 3 in the transport direction. From these conveyor belts, the belt 17 serves to feed the objects 4 to the loading station according to the invention. In contrast, in the context of the present invention, the belt 18 has the purpose of spacing closely consecutive objects by temporary, brief acceleration so that they can be moved without switching off the conveyor belt 3 and without the action of additional mechanical means, such as, for example of push rods, which can be moved transversely to the conveying movement, for bringing apart lined-up objects, can be picked up by the chain store.
The central control system 14 includes a control circuit (not shown) with electrical and / or electronic components for controlling and regulating. The control circuit is also connected to the drive motor of the conveyor belt 18 and the motor of the loading area 1, each with an electrical connection indicated by the arrows 19 and 20. The control circuit furthermore has computing and control means in order to register the signals measured by the light barrier 15 and to control the subsequent loading process in a manner which is explained in more detail and dependent on these signals or a measured value determined therefrom.
For this purpose, the control circuit can have, for example, analog computing amplifiers, comparison circuits and the like and / or an analog / digital converter for converting the measurement signals into digital signals and a digital computer.
The central control system 14 furthermore has analog and / or digital display means which serve to display operating states and the like. These can be designed, for example, to continuously display the free loading capacity of the chain store during the operation of the loading station 2.
There are also manually operable operating elements with which, for example, the speed of the loading section 1, the conveying speed of the belt 18 or even the speed of the conveyor belt 3 can be regulated manually, preferably continuously.
The control system 14 is thus designed in such a way that the sequence of the method described below for loading the chain store can be controlled at least partially by a person or completely automatically, either by manually operating operating elements.
It is provided that the loading process described below is automatically controlled as permanently as possible and the process is only temporarily "manually" controlled by one person. The latter is necessary, for example, if the arriving objects follow each other so closely that they can no longer be adequately separated for smooth loading, so that both the movement of the loading section 1 and the conveyor belt 3 must then be switched off. In such a case, the chain store or its loading mechanism must be readjusted to start operation after the traffic jam has cleared. This adjustment is preferably done manually.
The device described above operates in automatic mode as follows:
From the conveyor belts 17 and 18 serving as feed belts, the individual objects 4 reach the conveyor belt 3 at regular or irregular intervals, which is preferably driven at a constant speed during the loading process.
If an object 4 now reaches the area of the light barrier 15, a signal is sent to the control system 14, whereupon the latter determines the time of arrival of the object 4 at the discharge edge 3a from the speed of the conveyor belt 3 and the distance d. From this ascertained measurement variable and the discharge time dependent on the dimensions of the object and the speed of the conveyor belt 3 (= time which the object 4 takes to arrive at a tray 6 located below the belt level after arrival at the discharge edge 3a), regulation now takes place the control system 14 the speed of the loading run 1 moving downward in the direction of arrow 8 such that the object 4 arriving at the discharge edge 3a can be picked up by a tray 6 without the loading run 1 having to be switched off.
This speed adjustment of the loading section 1 is then determined anew for each further object 4 arriving on the conveyor belt 3.
During normal operation, the objects 4 arrive at the conveyor belt 3 at almost constant intervals, so that the loading section 1 can be moved with only minor speed corrections during the loading of a nacelle 5. In normal operation, the loading section 1 therefore only has to be accelerated briefly for the gondola jump, that is to say for the jump from one gondola to the next, since the distance between the two successive trays 6 is then substantially greater than the tray height within a gondola 5.
If, when loading a gondola 5, the objects 4 arrive on the conveyor belt 3 with larger and possibly even irregular intervals and consequently reach the area of the light barrier 15 at greater intervals, the speed of the loading section 1 is slowed down, so that the next tray to be loaded 6 is then guided past the discharge edge 3a when the object 4 to be loaded arrives there, whereupon it can be picked up by the tray 6 without being pinched, or the drive motor of the loading strand 1 is switched off or the drive drum is uncoupled from the transmission in such a way that the tray 6 stops above the conveyor belt 7.
In the latter case, the chain drive of the loading section 1 is put back into operation as soon as the object 4 to be placed on this tray 6 passes the light barrier 15, and likewise in such a way that the tray 6 is guided past the discharge edge 3a at the latest and is made available for loading. when the object 4 to be loaded arrives at the discharge edge 3a.
However, if the objects 4 arrive at the conveyor belt 3 at shorter intervals for loading a gondola 5 and consequently reach the area of the light barrier 15 within shorter time intervals, the speed of the loading section 1 is increased. This increase is also determined from the above-mentioned measurement variable and the time interval between two successive objects 4, and in analogy to the above statements, a tray 6 to be loaded is guided past the discharge edge 3a at the latest and made available for loading when the object to be loaded 4 arrives at the discharge edge 3a.
In this particular case, when setting the speed of the loading section 1, care must be taken that the object 4 to be loaded is not caught and pinched by the following tray 6 during the transition from the discharge edge 3a to the tray 6. Therefore, a maximum speed of the loading section 1 which is dependent on the tray height, the size or length of the object 4 and the speed of the conveyor belt 3 must not be exceeded.
In order not to reach the range of this maximum speed, the invention provides for the avoidance of objects which are lined up too closely to one another on the conveyor belt 3 by bringing such objects apart before they reach the belt 3. This can be done on the one hand by upstream means, such as, for example, by push rods which can be displaced transversely to the conveying movement, or else by briefly accelerating the arriving objects before they are placed on the conveyor belt 3. As already mentioned, the latter is made possible by the upstream acceleration belt 18, the drive speed of which can also be regulated by the central control system 14.
This regulation is also preferably carried out automatically within the scope of the invention, so that at least one further light barrier arranged in the region of the conveyor belt 17 is arranged in order to register a line of objects that may be forming or has already been formed.
At this point it should also be pointed out that the chain store described above and also the loading method that can be carried out with its loading station represent only a selection of several possible embodiments of the invention and can be changed in various respects.
For example, the loading section can also be moved from bottom to top, so that the above loading method is then adapted accordingly.
The speed of the conveyor belt 3 is constant during the loading process, which enables a relatively simple electronic control. However, it is also conceivable within the scope of the invention to regulate the speed of the conveyor belt 3 as a function of the distance between the successive objects with the use of appropriately designed electronic control means, so that the loading capacity of the chain store can be increased further.
