in fig. 1 la vista prospettica in trasparenza di un esempio di contenitore secondo l'invenzione con un raccoglitore incorporato e l'involucro esterno solo accennato;
in fig.
The present invention relates to the very current field of equipment for the separate collection of waste, aimed as it is known to facilitate the work of destruction and disposal to be carried out in landfills and, when possible, to allow the recovery of the waste in order to recycle it.
A targeted separate collection is currently carried out in the most advanced countries in order to recycle the polyethylene teraphthalate (P.E.T.) with which containers such as bottles, wrappers and similar are made.
This type of waste is collected in special separate containers, among which some are already equipped with means to reduce the volume to allow the storage of a large number of them in containers of compatible dimensions for emptying, transport, etc.
As far as the inventor is aware, these containers are now equipped with several pairs of vertical cutting knives mounted on horizontal counter-rotating axes: the material to be crushed is inserted manually by the operator, placing it on the said knives and operating, using a pair of buttons of simultaneous safety actuation, of the type used for example for the presses, to prevent the accidental involvement of the operator's hands or clothing.
This type of actuation is not very easy, and this drawback is among other things avoided with a container implemented according to the invention, with fully automatic operation as will be better explained below. In addition to the aforesaid drawback, the operation of the cutting knives and their conformation necessarily entail a relatively limited peripheral speed of their rotation, a consequently high time for crushing, as well as the need for the fragments of waste to pass over the same knives several times up to that their crushing did not occur to the desired extent.
Furthermore, a container of the conventional type described so far cannot operate "continuously", which is required for example in the case of centers with a large number of special waste such as supermarkets, hospitals, barracks, etc.
In fact, it is necessary to load the container with a limited quantity of waste, suitable to be contained in the compartment hosting the knives, by crushing them and then starting another cycle with another load of waste, another crushing operation and so on.
The quantity of waste that can be inserted for each cycle is limited by the fact that, in order to take advantage of an adequate space to accommodate a sufficient quantity of crushed waste in the lower part of the container without having to raise the latter in height until it is necessary to use access stairs, the knife compartment has a limited depth.
The inventor of the container according to the present invention has eliminated all the drawbacks listed above, developing a container provided with means suitable for carrying out a very rapid crushing of the waste by at least two successive operations, and providing the container itself with means suitable for automatically operating said means for the crushing, also in continuous, interrupting its actuation again automatically when all the waste introduced into the container has been crushed to the desired extent.
These features make it possible to displace a container according to the invention in any place or room used for the separate collection of waste, without the need for any operation beyond the simple introduction of the waste itself.
This container can therefore be used in any public or private place such as supermarkets, hospitals, barracks, or private homes, subject to a specific differentiation of its technical characteristics according to the intended use, differentiation that will be better explained later.
More specifically, the object of the present invention consists of a container for the collection of special waste in synthetic materials provided with means suitable for obtaining a reduction in their volume, such means obtaining said volume reduction by crushing the waste itself the means consisting of a plurality of rotating cutting elements able to press the waste itself against the stripping edges, cutting them, characterized in that said means are constituted by one or more horizontal rotating cutting elements coupled to fixed horizontal cutting edges ,
as well as at least a pair formed by vertical rotating cutting elements and by fixed vertical cutting edges arranged downstream of the aforesaid horizontal rotating elements and fixed horizontal cutting edges and which act in such a way as to crush again the waste introduced into the container further reducing the volume to a predetermined size, the said rotating horizontal cutting elements being adapted to create, by rotating, a determined downward pressure of the container.
A more detailed description of some preferred embodiments of the invention will now be made, also with reference to the attached drawings which represent:
in fig. 1 is a perspective view in transparency of an example of container according to the invention with an incorporated collector and the external casing only mentioned;
in fig. 2 the side view of the outside of the container casing.
Consider figure 1 therein, the container 1 according to the invention is shown in an embodiment with a crushed waste collection member 15 incorporated therein.
This construction, which can obviously be shaped and dimensioned externally according to requirements, is particularly suitable for use in small communities, for example also apartment blocks or private homes, where the quantity of waste to be disposed of is not high.
The container 1 provided with an external casing 7 better visible in fig. 2, has an input tube 8 for the waste 2 preferably inclined downwards, into which the waste to be crushed is introduced.
Means 9 are arranged inside this tube 8 (for example a photocell, or a similar device), suitable for detecting the presence of waste 2 inside the tube 8 itself, thereby operating one or more electric motors (14). suitable for moving the crushing bodies, which will be better defined below.
A fixed structure 11 closed on the sides and on the bottom, which can also be constituted in part by the casing 7 itself, bears a vertical shaft 10, on which a horizontal blade 3 hinges shaped like a propeller with two or more blades and suitable to create with its rotation a certain overpressure in the axial direction towards the bottom of the container 1. The said blade 3 bears sharp cutting edges 3a, 3b which in their rotation oppose, touching them, a plurality of knives 4 fixed on the fixed structure 11 parallel to the blade 3 itself, positioned at the radially outermost areas of the said sharp cutting edges 3a, 3b.
Below the described blade 3 and the described knives 4 there is then a wheel 12, also pivoted on said vertical shaft 10, and composed of a predetermined number of spokes 12a interposed between as many compartments 12b having predetermined dimensions, suitable to allow the passage by drop of waste fragments after they have reached a certain size.
On the radially outermost area of the said wheel 12 several vertical cutting elements 5 are fixed, i.e. perpendicular to the wheel 12 itself, and on said rigid structure 11 a predetermined number of further cutting edges 6 are fixed parallel to the cutting elements mentioned above, distributed circumferentially and positioned so that they are tangent outside the trajectory described by the radially outermost points of the aforementioned cutting elements 5.
On said rigid structure 11 an extraction nozzle 13 is applied or obtained, located on a plane arranged below the said wheel 12, and preferably provided in an extension shaped like a chute 13s in order to direct the fragments constituted by the crushed debris in the desired direction.
Inside the rigid structure 11, near the aforesaid nozzle 13, and preferably in a position which is reached in the rotation from any point of the said wheel just before reaching the nozzle 13 itself, at least one deflector flap 16 is fixed which is dimensioned, shaped and inclined in a way suitable to ensure that the fragments of the already crushed debris that reach it, following a centrifugal force imparted to them by the blade 3 and the rotating wheel 12, a substantially circular trajectory along the internal surface of the structure 11, are braked and deflected in a predetermined measure in a desired direction, practically oriented towards the vertical pin 10.
The fragments thus addressed, almost totally deprived of their kinetic energy in the sense of circular motion, fall towards the bottom of the fixed structure 11 near the extraction nozzle 13, from which they emerge due to the already mentioned overpressure caused by the rotation of the blade 3 to propeller described above.
One or more electric motors 14 are then mechanically connected to the said helical blade 3 and to the said wheel 12 so as to make it rotate when activated by the photocell 9 when the waste has been introduced, and the container 1 is also provided with a device (not shown ), for example a simple potentiometer, able to disconnect the power supply to the motors 14 when the waste 2 has been totally crushed and extracted, i.e. when the power absorbed by the motor or motors themselves to rotate the blade 3 and the wheel 12 results decreased to a predetermined value, corresponding to the no-load operating value of the system.
The operating sequence of operation of a container made according to the invention is therefore the following:
the waste 2 is introduced into the container 1 through the inlet tube 8, activating the electric motors 14 by means of the photocell 9.
The waste 2 descends by gravity until it crosses the field of action of the helical blade 3 which, rotating at over 2000 DEG 2500 revolutions per minute, i.e. with a very high peripheral speed, crushes them a first time pushing them with its sharp sharp edges 3a , 3b, against said knives 4.
Then the waste fragments, already animated by a certain rotary motion around the pin 10 due to the thrust exerted on them by the blade 3, descend downwards and come into contact with the wheel 12 which, in addition to further reducing the volume by breaking them up by means of the vertical cutting elements 5 and the fixed cutting edges 6, it gives them a further more pronounced rotation, which leads them to rotate inside the rigid structure 11 describing a circular motion tangentially to the structure 11 itself until they meet the deflector flap 16, which is sized and inclined so as to select the fragments, only marginally deviating the trajectory of the larger fragments, and instead restraining almost totally the small fragments which, deprived of their kinetic energy as mentioned in the sense of circular motion,
they bounce weakly in the direction of the pin 10, i.e. the inside of the container 1, and then fall downwards near the said extraction nozzle 13, of which they come out due to the aforementioned overpressure produced by the helical blade 3.
This overpressure is obvious that it also serves, to a limited extent, to start the waste and their fragments from upstream to downstream, that is, from the top to the bottom of the container.
From the extraction nozzle 13, preferably equipped as mentioned with an inclined chute 13s, the fragments of the crushed debris reach by drop a collecting member 15 (a sack, a basket or the like) contained, like the rest of the container, within its external casing 7.
In the case of a container according to the invention to be used in different communities and with greater disposal needs in order to reduce over time the number of services necessary for emptying the crushed debris, the inventor has devised a second type of construction of the container itself, not shown as imaginable in an obvious way by a person skilled in the art.
All the component parts are unchanged, possibly changing only their sizing, and the operating sequence is identical.
The only difference consists in the fact that the container 1 is in this case also equipped with an apparatus suitable for picking up the fragments of the said collecting member 15, which has a specially designed shape, and for sending them in a large collection container located near the container itself (not shown).
Said equipment can be, for example, a motorized centrifugal turbine with a conveyor tube, a motorized auger also with a conveyor tube or other equipment well known to those skilled in the art.
It is obvious that the two preferred embodiment examples described and illustrated so far do not exhaust all the possible types of embodiment which can be implemented for a container according to the invention.
Other embodiments which are different but referable to the concepts expressed in the appended claims will in any case result in the scope of the protection conferred by the present patent application.
By means of the container according to the present invention, high disposal speeds can be achieved (in this regard, evaluate the high peripheral cutting speed obtainable) with fully automatic operation obtained in maximum safety: for example it is impossible, if the machine is suitably sized, reach the areas where the cutting edges operate with clothes, hands or limbs. The aims that the inventor had set for himself were so advantageously achieved.
