The present invention relates to the field of devices used in construction for the treatment of concrete castings and, more specifically, to those among them, such as floats and talos, which are used for the smoothing of surface of concrete castings having a substantially horizontal development, such as road curbs, crowning walls, sidewalks, road pavements etc.
As is known, the horizontal external surface of the concrete castings of the type described above normally remain in view, and therefore require careful smoothing which allows the fluid phase of the conglomerate to constitute a surface layer, suitable for being perfectly smoothed, which covers the elements. solids from the inert phase (consisting of gravel or other materials) preventing them from surfacing on the surface, spoiling the aesthetic appearance of the jet.
In order to be sufficiently resistant to the mechanical, thermal and / or chemical stresses to which the concrete casting is subjected during the period of its use, said surface layer must have an adequate thickness and as uniform as possible. To achieve this, during the casting, it is necessary to vibrate the mass of the concrete so that the aforementioned solid elements of the inert phase sink into it to a depth sufficient for the purpose.
Since the horizontally developed jets of the type described above rest on the ground or other existing structures and have a limited thickness, it is not possible, according to the current state of the art, to subject them to vibrations by means of the equipment that is usually used for other types casting suitable for the formation of beams, pillars and the like.
In order to adequately treat the horizontally developed castings listed above, it would therefore be necessary to vibrate them while tools such as taloscie and floats are applied to smooth them.
Since this practice cannot be carried out manually by the workers who perform their smoothing, the inventor of the present invention has provided with it a device such as a taloscia or a float with applied on it a vibrating electric motor which transmits its vibrations to it while the tool itself is being used.
The object of the invention is in fact constituted by a tool as described in the preamble of the attached claim 1, characterized by the characterizing part of the same claim.
The description of a device according to the invention will now be performed by way of example, and in doing so reference will also be made to the attached figure which represents the perspective view of a trowel 1 made according to the present invention resting on a jet (2) of concrete used as flooring.
If one considers the aforementioned figure, one can see in it how, on the rear surface of a trowel of a known type, an electric motor 3 is fixed, made in such a way as to enter into vibration when it is powered.
The said electric motor 3, by means of the said vibrations, which it obviously transmits to the trowel 1 to which it is integral, causes the latter to perform, during its use, the functions of smoothing the jet and causing it to vibrate, so to obtain the results already described sufficiently previously, which give the surface of the jet and the jet itself the best aesthetic and structural qualities. It should be noted that, through the vibrations to which the concrete casting is subjected by a tool according to the invention, the statistical distribution of the inert elements with different diameters is also improved, with beneficial effects on the outcome of the various chemical reactions characteristic of concrete , in particular those of carbonation.
For easy manipulation of a tool according to the invention, the inventor has foreseen the application of handles 4n (two in this case) and, for the smoothing of castings having a width of up to approx. 3.50 m, he planned to be able to apply an elongated handle (not shown) reversibly on the tool 1 itself.
The use of an elongated handle of this size is allowed by the limited weight (approx. 3 kg) of the tool 1 as a whole.
In order to use the same vibrating electric motor 3 for various tools of various types present on a construction site, the inventor also planned to fix it on a tool in an easily reversible way, so that it can be detached from a type of tool and applied. on another with the greatest of ease and with great haste.
It has been found that the use of a tool according to the present invention improves the aesthetic and structural characteristics of castings in which the aggregates also reach a maximum diameter of 45 mm.
In a more pronounced way the characteristics of RG and RGS concrete castings are improved. In particular, the results achieved by means of the SIA FS and DELTA m30 tests (relating to frost and frost resistance plus chemical attack) are improved.
The device of the invention has been found suitable for the treatment of concrete having an a / c ratio lower than 0.45.
It is obvious that a tool according to the invention can be made, as already mentioned, in a different way from that described so far in the case of a float. Different tools made according to the teachings of the attached claim 1 are in any case included in the scope of the protection conferred by the present patent application.
The power supply of the vibrating electric motor 3, which can be activated and deactivated manually with a switch, is provided at a voltage of between 200 and 400 V, and the inventor has also provided that the electric motor is provided with means suitable for varying the frequency of the its vibrations as needed.
