Technisches Gebiet
(a) ein längliches Gehäuse mit einer Gehäuseachse und einer axialen Durchgangsbohrung zur Aufnahme des Drahtseiles oder Rundprofils, welche Durchgangsbohrung sich in einem ersten Teilstück konisch verengt und anschliessend in ein zweites zylindrisches Teilstück übergeht;
(b) wenigstens zwei parallel zur Gehäuseachse verlaufende und voneinander quer zur Gehäuseachse beabstandete Klemmbacken, welche zusammen innerhalb des ersten Teilstückes einen Konus mit einer axialen, zylindrischen Klemmbohrung bilden und dort derart geführt sind, dass sich bei einer Bewegung der Klemmbacken entlang der Gehäuseachse der Abstand der Klemmbacken quer zur Gehäuseachse verkleinert bzw. vergrössert;

Fig. 1 zeigt ein bevorzugtes Ausführungsbeispiel einer Klemmvorrichtung 1 nach der Erfindung im Längsschnitt mit (Fig. 1(c)) und ohne (Fig. 1(a)) Drahtseil, sowie im Querschnitt (Fig. 1(b)) entlang der Linie A-A aus Fig. 1(a).

Technical field
The present invention relates to the field of fastening technology. It relates to an automatic clamping device for wire ropes or round profiles, comprising
(a) an elongated housing with a housing axis and an axial through hole for receiving the wire rope or round profile, which through hole narrows conically in a first section and then merges into a second cylindrical section;
(b) at least two clamping jaws running parallel to the housing axis and spaced apart from one another transversely to the housing axis, which together form a cone with an axial, cylindrical clamping bore within the first section and are guided there in such a way that the distance increases when the clamping jaws move along the housing axis the clamping jaw is reduced or enlarged transversely to the housing axis;
(c) a spring which presses the jaws into the conical section from one side; and
(d) a decocking device with a sleeve which is guided in the cylindrical section to be displaceable in the axial direction and a handle which projects out of the housing and is connected to the sleeve, by means of which the clamping jaws can be pressed out of the conical section from the other side against the pressure of the spring.
Such a clamping device is e.g. known from US-A 3 776 586.
The invention further relates to the use of such a clamping device.
State of the art
In the past, a large number of automatic clamping devices for wire cables (or comparable round profiles) have been proposed, in which a cable loaded under tension is automatically clamped by clamping elements which can be moved on a slope and are prestressed by springs. Balls are often used as clamping elements, as described, for example, in US Pat. No. 4,736,855. Due to the small contact surfaces between the balls and the rope, however, the rope slips at closer tensile loads, which is accompanied by material removal on the rope and thus leads to a weakening of the load capacity of the rope.
Other known solutions use clamping jaws as clamping elements, which enclose the wire rope over a longer distance and thus allow the clamping forces to act on a larger area. A clamping device of this type is e.g. in US-A 5,015,023. The known clamping device is very compact. It uses two opposing clamping jaws, each of which can slide against the continuous wire rope on an inclined, flat sliding surface within a housing. The clamping jaws are biased in the clamping direction by a spiral spring. To secure and release the clamping, various interlocking screw elements are provided on the side of the spring, the innermost of which is positively connected to the clamping jaws.
The inner clamping surfaces of the clamping jaws have a V-shaped cross-sectional contour in order to be able to clamp wires with different wire diameters.
The known clamping device has various disadvantages: On the one hand, the device consists of a relatively large number of individual parts, which have to be precisely worked and matched to one another, not only the plane sliding surfaces, but also the form-fitting connection between the clamping jaws and the "retractor" requiring special machining operations . On the other hand, the relaxation of the clamping device is brought about by pulling out the clamping jaws via a thread mechanism, which is time-consuming in operation and requires a special wrench. Finally, due to the special design of the clamping jaws, the clamping surface between the inner surface of the jaw and the rope is actually only linear, which leads to a high local load on the wire rope and a reduction in the clamping effect.
Another known clamping device, which also works with clamping jaws, is described in the publication mentioned at the beginning. In this case, six clamping jaws form a cone, which is mounted in the conical section of a through hole. The clamping jaws each have inner surfaces which together form a cylindrical surface, the diameter of which is matched to the diameter of the wire rope to be clamped. Each jaw is guided by its own pin inclined to the axis and preloaded by its own spring. A sleeve is provided to relax the device, which pushes the clamping jaws out of the conical section against the spring forces.
The sleeve is mounted in a cylindrical section adjoining the conical section and is displaceable in the axial direction and is displaced by means of two actuating arms protruding laterally from the housing. The arms can be locked and secured in the open and clamped positions.
This clamping device also has a number of disadvantages: on the one hand, like the device described above, it consists of a relatively large number and complicatedly designed individual parts such as guide pins, unscrewable arms, securing plates, etc. On the other hand, the use of actuating arms means that it can be operated directly given without special tools, however, the clamping device loses its compact structure. The arms are bulky and can easily be operated by mistake if they are not constantly secured by screwing on the safety plates or if the protruding parts are unscrewed and stored separately from the device.
Finally, because of its structure, the device requires a complicated and time-consuming assembly, which increases the cost of manufacture and limits the area of application.
Presentation of the invention
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a clamping device which, with a high clamping force, is distinguished by a particularly simple construction, can be assembled and operated easily and, because of its construction, is largely secure against incorrect operation.
The object is achieved in a clamping device of the type mentioned in that
(e) the sleeve of the expansion device is led out of the housing with one end and the handle is arranged at this end; and
(f) the sleeve protrudes with its other end over the cylindrical section and is secured against falling out by an increasing outer diameter.
By means of the measures according to the invention, the relaxation device can at the same time be made in one piece and arranged in such a way that the clamping device is compact and has no laterally protruding parts, and inadvertent actuation of the relaxation device is largely excluded.
A first preferred embodiment of the clamping device according to the invention is characterized in that the first section merges into a third, cylindrical section of the through hole on the side opposite the second section, and the clamping jaws also extend over the third section and there one to the Form the conical cylinder. As a result, the clamping surface can advantageously be enlarged without the outside diameter of the clamping device having to be enlarged, so that a very slim, aesthetically appealing device results despite extremely high clamping force.
A second preferred embodiment of the clamping device according to the invention is characterized in that only two opposing clamping jaws are provided, that the third section merges into a fourth, likewise cylindrical section of the through-bore with a comparable diameter, that the spring is designed as a spiral spring and is arranged axially in the fourth section and is guided, and that the diameter of the spring is selected such that the spring encloses a wire rope or round profile running through the clamping device and exerts pressure on all clamping jaws at the same time with its one end. This embodiment manages with a minimum of parts, is easy to assemble and is robust and reliable in operation.
A preferred development of this embodiment is characterized in that the fourth section merges into a fifth section of the through hole with a reduced diameter, for the connection of the clamping device a connecting bolt with a head and a threaded part is provided, the connecting bolt with its head in the fourth Section is rotatably mounted in the axial direction and around the housing axis and with its thread protrudes through the fifth section from the housing, and the spring is supported with its other end on the top of the head of the connecting bolt. The space-saving integration of the connecting bolt into the clamping device easily creates a connection that is versatile and decoupled with respect to rotation.
In particular, this measure allows a wire rope fastened by means of the clamping device to be tensioned without special threaded sleeves or pins having an opposite thread having to be provided.
Further embodiments of the device result from the dependent claims.
Through the use of the clamping device according to the invention for the hanging holding of objects, a wire rope is fastened at one end to the object to be held and clamped at the other end in the clamping device and the clamping device in turn is fastened at its free end to a supporting element. The use of the clamping device allows the holding of objects to be designed very variably, the distance being able to be adjusted simply and without great aids on site by shortening the wire rope accordingly.
The cut rope is fastened with one end to the object to be held and then simply inserted with the other end into the clamping device and automatically clamped there. At the same time, the use of the wire rope results in an acoustic decoupling of the suspension, which is often desirable in the construction or plant sector.

Ways of Carrying Out the Invention
Fig. 1 shows a preferred embodiment of a clamping device 1 according to the invention in longitudinal section with (Fig. 1 (c)) and without (Fig. 1 (a)) wire rope, and in cross section (Fig. 1 (b)) along the line AA of Fig. 1 (a). The clamping device 1 comprises an elongated, preferably cylindrical, slim housing 2, which is rotationally symmetrical about a housing axis and which is composed of two housing parts 3 and 4 which can be screwed together. The housing has a concentric through bore 5 lying in the housing axis 28, which consists of five sections T1-T5 with different diameters.
Of central importance is the first section T1, which is arranged in the lower housing part 4 and tapers downwards to a cone and merges into the cylindrical section T2 at the tapered end. Within the first section T1, two opposing clamping jaws 8a, b are arranged, which together form a (slotted) cone which is adapted in outside diameter and angle of inclination to the inside diameter and angle of inclination of the conical section T1 and is guided in this in the axial direction.
The clamping jaws 8a, b are half-shell-shaped on the inside, so that together they form an axial, cylindrical clamping bore 9 through which a wire rope 13 of corresponding outer diameter can be pushed and clamped there. The insertion of the end of the wire rope into the clamping bore 9 can advantageously be facilitated by a socket at the lower end of the clamping jaws 8a, b. The wire rope 13 is clamped in the clamping device 1 in a manner known per se in that the spaced-apart clamping jaws 8a, b move toward one another transversely to the housing axis 28 during an axial displacement within the conical section T1 and thereby move their inner surfaces against the wire rope 13 press.
The oppression is automatically increased when a downward tensile force acts on the wire rope 13, which due to the frictional connection between the wire rope 13 and the jaws 8a, b with the wire rope 13 also moves the jaws 8a, b downwards.
The frictional engagement is greater, the larger the contact area between the clamping jaws 8a, b and the wire rope 13. In this exemplary embodiment, the contact surface is increased without increasing the outside diameter of the clamping device 1 in that the first section T1 on the side opposite the second section T2 merges into a third, cylindrical section T3 of the through bore 5, and the clamping jaws 8a, b also overlap extend the third section T3 and there form a cylinder adjoining the cone. The inclination angle of the conical section T1 or the clamping jaws 8a, b forming a cone also has a significant influence on the effectiveness of the clamping.
It has been found that at an inclination angle between 6 ° and 7 °, preferably between 6.1 ° and 6.5 °, the load-bearing capacity of the clamping is so high that it lies above the breaking load of the wire rope 13, that is to say that during tensile tests the wire rope breaks before the limit of the clamping force is reached.
In order to ensure from the outset a sufficient frictional connection between the wire rope 13 and the clamping jaws, above the clamping jaws 8a, b in a fourth, cylindrical section T4 located in the upper housing part 3 of the through bore 9, which connects to the third section T3 with a comparable diameter. a spring 6 axially arranged and guided. The spring 6 is designed as a spiral spring. The diameter of the spring 6 is selected so that the spring 6 encloses the wire rope 13 (or round profile) running through the clamping device 1 without contact and with its lower end exerts pressure simultaneously on all clamping jaws 8a, b.
The other end of the spring 6 is supported on the top of the head 7a of a connecting bolt 7, which is axially supported in the housing 2 and rotatable about the housing axis 28. For this purpose, the fourth section T4 merges into a fifth section T5 of the through hole 5 with a reduced diameter. The connecting bolt 7 is mounted with its head 7a in the fourth section T4 and projects with a threaded part 7b through the fifth section T5 from the housing 2. Although the spring 6 exerts pressure on the head 7a of the connecting bolt 7, the latter can be rotated sufficiently with respect to the housing 2 in order to decouple a rotary movement which occurs when the clamped wire rope 13 is tensioned from the connecting bolt 7.
On the threaded part 7b of the connecting bolt 7, a lock nut 14 is expediently provided, which can be used to lock a threaded sleeve screwed onto the threaded part 7b (see FIG. 3).
While the clamping of a wire rope 13 or round profile inserted into the clamping device takes place automatically, a special relaxation device 10 must be provided for relaxing the device, i.e. releasing the clamping mechanism. The relaxation device 10 comprises a sleeve 11, which is guided in the cylindrical section T2 and is displaceable in the axial direction, which has one end led out of the housing 2 and there is a handle 12 in the form of a flange-like closure. By means of the sleeve 11, the clamping jaws 8a, b can be pressed out of the conical section T1 from the other side against the pressure of the spring 6, as a result of which they gain increasing radial play and release the wire rope 13.
So that the sleeve 11 is secured against falling down, it projects with its other end beyond the cylindrical section T2 into the conical section T1 and has an increasing outside diameter there, which e.g. can be produced by crimping the edge of the sleeve. The handle 12 is adjusted in diameter to the diameter of the housing 2, so that on the one hand the slim shape of the device 1 Klemmvorrich is preserved and on the other hand an accidental relaxation of the device is largely prevented without additional measures.
The function of the clamping device according to FIG. 1 can be described as follows: The wire rope 13 (or a round profile with the same diameter) is inserted with its end into the bore of the sleeve 11 from below. The jaws 8a, b are pushed back upwards in the axial direction; at the same time they move radially outwards as a result of the chamfered clamping bore 9. The inner diameter of the clamping bore 9 is thereby larger and the element to be clamped can be pushed up to the flat top of the head 7a of the connecting bolt 7. The clamping jaws 8a, b are then pushed back into the conical section T1 by the spring force and the element to be clamped is held.
In the event of a downward tensile load, the clamping jaws 8a, b are moved radially inward, as already described above, and the resulting radial force clamps the element up to its breaking load. The unloaded element can easily be removed again by pressing the sleeve 11 upwards. In order to be able to keep the static friction so high at the beginning of the load that the element can be prevented from sliding out of the clamping jaws, the clamping jaws 8a, b can be roughened on their inner surfaces by transverse grooves with respect to the housing axis 28.
As already mentioned, the freely rotatable connecting bolt 7 equipped with a lock nut 14 enables the attachment of various transition pieces, which are optionally provided with an internal or external thread. Such transition pieces are shown in FIG. 3 in the form of connecting sleeves 17. The connecting sleeves 17 are screwed onto the threaded part 7b of the connecting bolt 7 by means of a corresponding internal thread and countered with the lock nut 14. At the other end, the connection sleeves 17 can be equipped with an internal thread (exemplary embodiment in FIG. 3 (a)) or an external thread (exemplary embodiment in FIG. 3 (b)) of a freely selectable size in order to ensure that any other fastening elements can be connected. 3 (b), according to a further exemplary embodiment, an external thread 30 is worked up on the upper housing part 4.
Thus, the clamping device 1 can be held with a corresponding union nut (not shown), or it can, among other things. a board or a glass plate can be clamped between two nuts.
1 and 3 is mainly designed as a releasable end attachment for a wire rope or round profile, the embodiment shown in FIG. 2 serves as a holding or supporting element at a certain height of a continuous rope or profile. The rotatable connecting bolt is omitted in this case, so that the wire rope 13 can run freely through the clamping device 1. For this purpose, a holder 15 is attached or formed on the housing 2 of the clamping device 1, onto which a plate 16, which has a corresponding through hole for the rope, can be placed.
In this way it is e.g. possible to build a shelf with several plates, in which the shelf posts are replaced by wire ropes, and the height of the individual plates can be adjusted by moving the associated clamping devices.
At the same time, an additional securing device is shown in the example in FIG. 2, which of course can also be used in the other illustrated exemplary embodiments. The securing device comprises a securing nut 31, which is arranged on the handle 12 and can be adjusted in the direction of the housing axis 28 by means of an external thread provided on the outer surface of the handle 12. In the position shown in Figure 2, the device is unlocked, i.e. the sleeve 11 can be pressed into the housing 2 and release the clamping of the clamping jaws 8a, b. However, if the lock nut 31 is screwed against the housing 2, the sleeve 11 cannot be pushed in; the device is secured against unintentional loosening.
So that the lock nut 31 can be operated without tools, it is expediently provided with knurling on its circumference. In this context, it is also easily conceivable that the lock nut is arranged on a thread on the housing 2 and can be screwed against the handle 12.
However, it is particularly advantageous to use the clamping device according to the invention as a releasable end fastening on wire cables (or round profiles) in order to fasten and tension them at their ends. Because the assembly does not require any infrastructure, such as a press necessary for press sleeves and the associated tools, the wire rope can be assembled to the required length directly on the construction site or at the object. Preferred is the use of a clamping device 1 according to the invention for hanging objects, in which a wire rope 13 is attached at one end to the object to be held and clamped at the other end in the clamping device 1 and the clamping device 1 in turn with its free end is attached to a support member 22 (Figs. 4 and 5).
In the embodiment of the use according to the invention shown in FIG. 4, the object to be held is a pipe 25, a line or a bundle of pipes or lines or the like. The wire rope 13 has at one end a e.g. produced by means of a press sleeve 24, stable loop 23. The other end of the wire rope 13 is then passed around the object (25) and through the loop 23 to form a self-tightening loop and clamped in the clamping device 1. The clamping device 1 itself is e.g. attached to the support element 22 by means of a fork 20 screwed to the connecting bolt and a connecting bolt 21. The distance of the object (25) from the support element 22 is adjusted in a simple manner in that the wire rope 13 is shortened to the desired length.
To aid in cutting the wire rope 13, a mark (notch or the like) can be made on the outside of the housing of the clamping device 1 at the top of the head 7a of the connecting bolt 7, which indicates how far the wire rope can be inserted into the clamping device 1. In the manner described, flexible, quick and easy installation of water pipes, cables and cable bundles or cable ducts under the ceiling of a building is possible.
In the exemplary embodiment of the use according to the invention shown in FIG. 5, the object to be held is a hanging element 27 provided with fastening options, in particular a ceiling element of a suspended ceiling. The wire rope 13 in this case is e.g. provided with a second pressed-on fork 29 as a fastening element and fastened to the hanging element 27 by means of a second connecting bolt 26. At its other end, the wire rope 13 is cut to length, inserted into the clamping device 1 and held there by clamping. The clamping device can be fastened to the support element 22 in the same way as in FIG. 4. It goes without saying that in this application a rigid round profile can also be used instead of the wire rope 13.
Other advantageous examples of use include hanging pictures and other objects as well as wire ropes on railings and stairs, climbing aids for plants and much more. to call.
Overall, the invention results in a clamping device that is versatile, compact and simple in construction, easy to assemble, safe to use and extraordinarily resilient. A high level of functional reliability and durability of the clamping device with an aesthetically appealing appearance is achieved if - apart from the spring 6 - all parts of the clamping device are made of stainless steel, for example.
