Die Umsatzverluste durch Ladendiebstahl im Detailhandel betragen alleine in der Schweiz über 100 Millionen jährlich. Der Einsatz von elektronischen Warensicherungssystemen ist daher unvermeidbar geworden. Dabei wird vermehrt von körperdurchstrahlenden Hochfrequenzwellen Gebrauch gemacht.
