Abstract

The releasable cable fixing for use in a telephone exchange uses a profile rail (3) extending horizontally to fit through aligned bores in vertical metal frame profiles and receiving a releasable clamp (8) which has a fixing screw (5) simultaneously used for retaining the cable. The clamp (8) has opposing clamp arms (9, 10) with hooked ends, fitting into angularly spaced longitudinal grooves (4) in the surface of the profile rail (3), allowing the clamp (8) to slide along the latter, before securing by rotation of the fixing screw (5). Pref. the profile rail (3) has 4 longitudinal grooves (4) offset from one another by 90 degrees. ADVANTAGE - Simple assembly and fixing of cables.
