Abstract

A key (1) has a groove (1d) cut into the front face (1c) of the key shank in which a broach (4a) mounted on the driver (4) of the rotary lock cylinder engages when the key is inserted in the keyway (3c). The broach (4a) then moves a pin (5), which slides in the shaft of the key (1), radially outward and in so doing intercalates a core pin (3).
