Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Boden-und Wandplatte mit einer Trittfläche bzw. Oberfläche aus tonmineralhaltigem und/oder quarzhaltigem Grundstoff sowie ein Verfahren zur Herstellung dieser Platte. Tonplatten erfreuen sich wegen ihrem natürlichen und heimeligen Aussehen einer zunehmenden Beliebtheit. Sie eignen sich vorzüglich um Balkon- und Terrassenböden zu belegen und um Hauseingänge zu gestalten. Auch im Innenausbau gibt es zahlreiche Verwendungsmöglichkeiten. Insbesondere bei der Renovierung von Altbauten stösst man jedoch, wegen des relativ hohen Gewichtes, vielfach auf Grenzen bei der Verwendung solcher Platten. Beispielsweise bei Terrassenböden aus gefalztem Blech, wie sie in Altbauten häufig vorkommen, muss vielfach auf die gewünschte Auskleidung mit Tonplatten verzichtet werden, weil Zweifel an der Tragfähigkeit der Unterkonstruktion bestehen. Dasselbe Problem taucht ebenfalls auf, wenn Wände verkleidet werden sollen. Clay plates are becoming increasingly popular due to their natural and homely appearance. Eine leichtere Unterschicht kann beispielsweise aus Blähton bestehen. Den Gussschichten wird Weisszement als Binder beigegeben. Diesen Schichten kann ausserdem sogenanntes Mischöl beigegeben werden, welches im ausgehärteten Plattenmaterial mixroskopische Luftporen ergibt und dieses frost- und salzbeständig macht. Schliesslich kann noch eine elastische Kunststoffemulsion beigemischt werden, die das Plattenmaterial leicht ela-stifiziert und die Wasseraufnahme verhindert. Nach einer einwöchigen Trocknung der Platte wird deren Oberfläche behandelt, beispielsweise geschliffen und mit einer Patina versehen. Nach einer weiteren Trocknungszeit von 30 Tagen kann die Platte ausgeliefert und verlegt werden. Ein Brennen ist nicht erforderlich.
