Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft neue Azofarbstoffe gemäss Patentanpruch 1 und Verfahren zu deren Herstellung gemäss Patentansprüchen 9 und 10.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind Azofarbstoffe der Formel

Als C1-C10-Alkyl kommt für R1, R4, R8, R9, R10, R11, R12 und R13 in Formel (1) z.B. in Betracht: Methyl, Aethyl, Propyl, Isopropyl, Butyl, Isobutyl, sek.-Butyl, tert.-Butyl, Pentyl, Hexyl, Octyl oder Decyl, sowie die entsprechenden Reste, die z.B. durch Hydroxy, Alkoxy mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, Phenyl, Sulfo, Sulfato, Thiosulfato, Cyan oder Halogen substituiert sind, z.B. beta -Hydroxyäthyl, beta -Methoxyäthyl, beta -Chloräthyl, Benzyl, beta -Sufatoäthyl, gamma -Methoxypropyl.
Als C1-C4-Alkyl kommt für R3, R6, R7 und R14 in Formel (1) z.B. in Betracht: Methyl, Aethyl, Propyl, Isopropyl, Butyl, sek.-Butyl, Isobutyl, tert.-Butyl.
Als C5-C7-Cycloalkyl kommt für R8, R9, R10, R11, R12 und R13 in Formel (1) z.B. in Betracht: Cyclopentyl, Cyclohexyl und Cycloheptyl, sowie die entsprechenden Reste, die z.B. durch Halogen, wie Fluor, Chlor oder Brom, C1-C4-Alkyl, wie Methyl, Aethyl, Propyl, Isopropyl, Butyl, Isobutyl, sek.-Butyl und tert.-Butyl, C1-C4-Alkoxy, wie Methoxy, Aethoxy, Propoxy, Isopropoxy, Butoxy, Isobutoxy, sek.-Butoxy, und tert.-Butoxy substituiert sind. Als Beispiel sei der Methylcyclohexylrest genannt.
Als gegebenenfalls substituiertes Phenyl oder Naphthyl kommen für R8, R9, R10, R11, R12, und R13 in Formel (1) neben unsubstituiertem Phenyl oder Naphthyl solche Reste mit z.B. den folgenden Substituenten in Betracht: C1-C4-Alkyl, wie Methyl, Aethyl, Propyl, Isopropyl, Butyl, Isobutyl, sek.-Butyl und tert.-Butyl, C1-C4-Alkoxy, wie Methoxy, Aethoxy, Propoxy, Isopropoxy, Butoxy, Isobutoxy, sek.-Butoxy und tert.-Butoxy, Halogen, wie Fluor, Chlor und Brom, C2-C4-Alkanoylamino, wie Acetylamino und Propionylamino, Benzoylamino oder Sulfo.
Als C2-C6-Alkanoylamino kommt für R3 in Formel (1) z.B. Acetylamino, Propionylamino und Butyrylamino in Betracht.
Als C1-C10-Alkoxy kommt für R3 in Formel (1) z.B. in Betracht: Methoxy, Aeathoxy, Propoxy, Isopropoxy, Butoxy, sek.-Butoxy, Isobutoxy, tert.-Butoxy, Pentyloxy, Hexyloxy, Octyloxy oder Decyloxy, sowie die entsprechenden Reste, die z.B. durch Hydroxy, C1-C4-Alkoxy, Phenyl oder Halogen substituiert sind, z.B. beta -Aethoxyäthoxy.
Als Halogen kommt für R3 in Formel (1) z.B. in Betracht: Fluor, Brom oder insbesondere Chlor.
Als Phenoxy kommt für R3 in Formel (1) ein unsubstituierter oder ein durch C1-C4-Alkyl wie Methyl, Aethyl, Propyl, Isopropyl, Butyl, Isobutyl, sek.-Butyl und tert.-Butyl, C1-C4-Alkoxy, wie Methoxy, Aethoxy, Propoxy, Isopropoxy, Butoxy, Isobutoxy, sek.-Butoxy und tert.-Butoxy, Halogen, wie Fluor, Chlor und Brom, C2-C4-Alkanoylamino, wie Acetylamino und Propionylamino, Benzoylamino oder Sulfo substituierter Phenoxyrest in Betracht.
Als wasserlöslichmachende Gruppe kommen insbesondere die Sulfonsäure-, Sulfato- und Tiosulfato-Gruppen in Betracht. Vorzugsweise enthalten die Azofarbstoffe der Formel (1) 1 bis 2 Gruppen der Formeln -SO3H, -OSO3H oder -SSO3H, die entweder an die Diazokomponente und/oder an die Kupplungskomponente gebunden sind.
Bevorzugt sind Azofarbstoffe der Formel (1), worin Y eine Sulfo- oder Sulfatogruppe ist.
Bevorzugt sind ferner Azofarbstoffe der Formel (1), worin m die Zahl 1 bedeutet.
Ebenfalls bevorzugt sind Azofarbstoffe der Formel (1), worin n die Zahl 1 bedeutet.
Insbesondere sind die Azofarbstoffe der Formel (1) nur durch eine Sulfo- oder Sulfatogruppe als wasserlöslichmachende Gruppe und nur durch einen Rest R3 substituiert.
Besonders bevorzugt sind die Azofarbstoffe der Formel

Die Diazotierung der Diazokomponente der Formel (5) erfolgt in der Regel durch Einwirken salpetriger Säure in wässrig-mineralsaurer Lösung bei tiefer Temperatur, die Kupplung auf die Kupplungskomponente der Formel (6) bei sauren oder neutralen bis alkalischen pH-Werten.
Gegebenenfalls kann eine freie Aminogruppe nach der Kupplung mit einem Acylierungs- oder Alkylierungsmittel in eine Acylamino- oder Alkylaminogruppe umgewandelt werden, und ebenso kann eine Hydroxygruppe durch Acylierung oder Alkylierung in eine Acyloxy oder Alkoxygruppe übergeführt werden.
Ferner kann eine aliphatische Hydroxygruppe in eine wasserlöslichmachende Gruppe, wie z.B. durch Sulfatierung in eine Sulfatogruppe, übergeführt werden.
Die Einführung der Reste -CON(R8)R9 oder -CONHNHR13 erfolgt in der Regel nach der Kupplungsreaktion, indem z.B. der -COOR11-Rest durch Umsetzung mit einem Amin- oder Hydrazin-Derivat in einem organischen Lösungsmittel, wie z.B. Dimethylformamid, bei 40 bis 80 DEG C umgesetzt wird.
In analoger Weise kann z.B. R2 als -COOR11 nach der Kupplungsreaktion in eine -CONH(CH2)x-OH Gruppe, wobei x eine Zahl zwischen 1 und 5, insbesondere die Zahl 2 oder 3, bedeutet, übergeführt werden. Die Hydroxygruppe kann anschliessend in eine Sulfatogruppe, z.B. mit Chlorsulfonsäure, übergeführt werden.
Eine bevorzugte Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein Amin der Formel (5) und/oder eine Kupplungskomponente der Formel (6) verwendet, worin Y ein Sulfo- oder Sulfatorest ist, wobei die Einführung der Sulfatogruppe in die Diazokomponente in der Regel im Anschluss an die Kupplungsreaktion erfolgt.
Eine weitere bevorzugte Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein Amin der Formel (5) und eine Kupplungskomponente der Formel (6) verwendet, die zusammen nur eine Sulfo- oder Sulfatogruppe enthalten, oder falls die Kupplungskomponente der Formel (6) frei von wasserlöslichmachenden Gruppen ist, im Anschluss an die Kupplung eine Sulfatogruppe in die Diazokomponente einführt.
Eine ebenfalls bevorzugte Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man eine Kupplungskomponente der Formel (6) verwendet, worin n die Zahl 1 ist.
Eine besonders bevorzugte Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens zur Herstellung der Azofarbstoffe der Formel (2) ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein Amin der Formel (5) diazotiert und auf eine Kupplungskomponente der Formel

Eine ganz besonders bevorzugte Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein Amin der Formel (5), worin R1 Wasserstoff oder C1-C4-Alkyl ist und R2 eine Gruppe der Formel -CN oder COOR11 ist, wobei R11 C1-C4-Alkyl ist, diazotiert und auf eine Kupplungskomponente der Formel (7), worin R3 C1-C4-Alkyl, R4 C1-C4-Alkyl, R6 Wasserstoff oder C1-C4-Alkyl, X ein Sauerstoffatom oder die Gruppe -CH-R14, wobei R14 Wasserstoff oder C1-C4-Alkyl ist, und Y eine Sulfo- oder Sulfatogruppe bedeutet, kuppelt, und gegebenenfalls anschliessend den Rest -CON(R8)R9 einführt, wobei R8 Wasserstoff und R9 C1-C4-Alkyl ist, und gegebenenfalls eine Sulfatogruppe in R9 einführt, so dass der gebildete Azofarbstoff nur eine einzige Sulfo- oder Sulfatogruppe enthält.

Die Kupplungskomponenten der Formel (6) sind an sich bekannt oder können in Analogie zu bekannten Verbindungen hergestellt werden.
Die Amine der Formel (5) können z.B. in Analogie zu bekannten Verfahren hergestellt werden, indem man z.B. eine Verbindung der Formel

worin R1 die unter Formel (1) angegebene Bedeutung hat, in Gegenwart einer Base, wie z.B. Natriummethylat, mit einem Ameisensäureester, wie z.B. Ameisensäuremethylester, kondensiert und das Kondensationsprodukt anschliessend mit Schwefelpulver und einer Verbindung der Formel

worin R2 min die unter Formel (5) angegebene Bedeutung hat, umsetzt.
Die Kondensation der Verbindung der Formel (11) mit einem Ameisensäureester sowie die Umsetzung mit Schwefelpulver und einer Verbindung der Formel (12) erfolgt in der Regel in einem organischen Lösungsmittel, wie z.B. Dimethylformamid, bei Temperaturen zwischen 10 und 65 DEG C.
Die Farbstoffe der Formel (1), welche mindestens eine wasserlöslichmachende Gruppe enthalten, liegen entweder in der Form ihrer freien Säure oder vorzugsweise als deren Salze vor.
Als Salze kommen beispielsweise die Alkali-, Erdalkali- oder Ammoniumsalze oder die Salze eines organischen Amins in Betracht. Als Beispiele seien die Natrium-, Lithium-, Kalium- oder Ammoniumsalze oder das Salz des Triäthanolamins genannt.
Die erfindungsgemässen Azofarbstoffe der Formel (1) eignen sich zum Färben und Bedrucken, insbesondere von stickstoffhaltigen oder hydroxylgruppenhaltigen Fasermaterialien, wie z.B. textilen Fasermaterialien aus Cellulose, Seide und insbesondere Wolle und synthetischen Polyamiden. Man erhält egale Färbungen in blauen Tönen mit guten Allgemeinechtheiten, insbesondere guter Reib-, Nass-, Nassreib- und Lichtechtheit. Ferner sind die erfindungsgemässen Farbstoffe sehr gut mit anderen Säurefarbstoffen kombinierbar. Das oben genannte Textilmaterial kann in den verschiedensten Verarbeitungsformen vorliegen, wie z.B. als Faser, Garn, Gewebe oder Gewirke. Die Fabrstoffe der Formel (1) eignen sich besonders zum Färben und Bedrucken natürlicher oder synthetischer Polyamidfasermaterialien.
Aus der US-A 4 255 326, US-A 4 301 069 und EP-A 17 588 sind ähnliche Farbstoffe bekannt, die sich jedoch in charakteristischer Weise von den Farbstoffen der vorliegenden Erfindung unterscheiden. Die bekannten Farbstoffe enthalten anstelle der an die Diazokomponente gebundenen Cyclohexylcarbonylgruppe eine Butyryl- oder Benzoylgruppe.
In den folgenden Beispielen stehen Teile für Gewichtsteile. Die Temperaturen sind Celsiusgrade. Die Beziehung zwischen Gewichtsteilen und Volumenteilen ist dieselbe wie diejenige zwischen Gramm und Kubikzentimeter.
Beispiel 1:

Bei ca. 10 DEG werden 50,6 Teile Natriummethylat (97%) in 240 Teile Dimethylformamid unter Rühren eingetragen. Danach wird innerhalb von 21 Stunden ein Gemisch aus 60,6 Teilen Ameisensäuremethylester und 119,6 Teilen Cyclohexylmethylketon (95%) so zugetropft, dass die Innentemperatur zwischen 10 und 12 DEG konstant bleibt. Nach vollständiger Zugabe des Gemisches wird noch 1 1/2 Stunden bei 20 DEG gerührt. In ca. 2 Minuten werden anschliessend 37,6 Teile Dimethylaminhydrochlorid zugegeben und es wird 1 Stunde bei 28 bis 32 DEG nachgerührt. Danach werden im Abstand von 10 Minuten 14,4 Teile Schwefelpulver und 45 Teile Cyanessigsäuremethylester zugegeben und es wird 2 Stunden bei 60 DEG gerührt. Danach wird auf ca. 5 DEG abgekühlt und innerhalb von 1 Stunde werden 1000 Teile Wasser mit konstanter Geschwindigkeit zugetropft.
Das ausgefallene Produkt wird abgesaugt und mit ca. 500 Teilen Wasser ausgewaschen. Die noch leicht feuchte Festsubstanz wird dann in 200 Teile einer Lösung bestehend aus CHCl3 und Petrolether (40 bis 60 DEG ) im Verhältnis 1:4 eingetragen und kurz gerührt. Danach wird abgesaugt und mit Petrolether (40 bis 60 DEG ) nachgewaschen. Man erhält 43 Teile der Verbindung der Formel (101).
Wenn man wie oben angegeben verfährt, jedoch anstatt 45 Teilen Cyanessigsäuremethylester eine äquimolare Menge Cyanessigsäureäthylester verwendet, so erhält man die Verbindung der Formel

Beispiel 2:

Bei ca. 10 DEG werden 4,2 Teile 2-Amino-3-carbomethoxy-5-cyclohexoylthiophen (97%) in eine Lösung bestehend aus 37,5 Teilen Eisessig und 18 Teilen konzentrierter Salzsäure (32%) unter gutem Rühren eingetragen. Danach wird auf 0 DEG abgekühlt und mit einer Lösung bestehend aus 1,1 Teilen NaNO2 in 6 Teilen Wasser bei ca. 3 DEG diazotiert. Nach beendeter Nitritzugabe wird noch 15 Minuten bei 0 DEG nachgerührt, danach werden 1,5 Teile Sulfaminsäure zugegeben und nochmals 2 Minuten nachgerührt. 3,5 Teile N-Aethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2,2,4,7-tetramethylchinolin (93%) werden anschliessend innerhalb von 2 Minuten bei 0 DEG zugetropft. Innerhalb von 30 Minuten gibt man dann 16 Teile Natriumacetat in 4 gleichen Portionen bei 0 bis 2 DEG zu und rührt nochmals 30 Minuten nach.
Bei 0-5 DEG wird dann eine Lösung bestehend aus 9 Teilen Natriumacetat, 4,5 Teilen Natriumcarbonat und 35 Teilen Wasser innerhalb von ca. 35 Minuten kontinuierlich zugetropft; ohne weitere Kühlung rührt man das Reaktionsgemisch anschliessend bis Raumtemperatur erreicht ist, gibt 150 Teile Wasser in ca. 15 Minuten zu und filtriert den ausgefallenen Farbstoff ab. Man wäscht mit 100 Teilen warmem Wasser nach und trocknet im Vakkumtrockenschrank bei 60 DEG . Man erhält 6,4 Teile der Verbindung der Formel (103) als blauschwarzes Pulver.

Bei ca. 50 DEG werden 5 Teile des gemäss obiger Vorschrift hergestellten Farbstoffes in 6,2 Teile Aethanolamin und 11,4 Teile Dimethylformamid unter gutem Rühren eingetragen. Man rührt 4 Stunden bei ca. 70 bis 75 DEG , kühlt dann auf 10 DEG ab und tropft 90 Teile einer 5%-wässrigen Na2SO4-Lösung in 30 Minuten zu. Man saugt ab, wäscht mit 250 Teilen heissem Wasser nach und trocknet im Vakuumtrockenschrank bei 60 DEG . Man erhält 4,3 Teile der Verbindung der Formel (104) als schwarzes Pulver.

4 Teile des Farbstoffes der Formel (104) werden bei 40 DEG in 16 Teile Dimethylformamid unter gutem Rühren eingetragen. Danach werden 1,92 Teile Chlorsulfonsäure (97%) so zugetropft, dass die Innentemperatur 40 DEG nicht übersteigt. Man rührt 3 Stunden bei 40 bis 45 DEG , kühlt dann auf ca. 10 DEG ab und tropft 90 Teile Toluol in 30 Minuten zu. Es wird kalt abgesaugt und mit Toluol nachgewaschen. Man erhält nach Trocknung im Valkuumtrockenschrank bei 60 DEG 4,5 Teile der Verbindung der Formel (105) als schwarzes Pulver. Der erhaltene Farbstoff, der in Form der freien Säure der Formel (105) entspricht, färbt Polyamid in blauen Tönen.
Wenn man wie oben angegeben verfährt, jedoch anstatt 3,5 Teile N-Aethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2,2,4,7-tetramethylchinolin eine äquimolare Menge einer in der folgenden Tabelle angegebenen Kupplungskomponente der Formel

Bei ca. 5 DEG werden 2,84 Teile 2-Amino-3-carbomethoxy-5-cyclohexoylthiophen in eine Lösung bestehend aus 15 Teilen 60%-iger Essigsäure und 2,5 Teilen 98%-iger Schwefelsäure unter gutem Rühren eingetragen. Danach wird auf 0 DEG abgekühlt und es wird bei einer maximalen Innentemperatur von 2 DEG mit 3,6 Teilen Nitrosylschwefelsäure (40%) diazotiert. Man rührt 90 Minuten bei 0 DEG nach, eliminiert den Nitritüberschuss durch Zugabe von 1 Teil Sulfaminsäure und tropft die erhaltene, tiefrote Diazoniumsalzlösung zu einer heterogenen Lösung, die 3,6 Teile N- beta -Sulfatoäthyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2,2,4,7-tetramethylchinolin-Kaliumsalz enthält. Dabei soll die Innentemperatur (+4 DEG ) nicht überschreiten. Man rührt 90 Minuten nach und tropft danach 8 Teile einen 50%-igen wässrigen Natronlauge so zu, dass die Innentemperatur zwischen 0 und (+5 DEG ) bleibt.

Die Trocknung erfolgt im Vakuumtrockenschrank bei 50 DEG . Man erhält 4,3 Teile Farbstoff, der in Form der freien Säure der Formel (122) entspricht und der Polyamid in rotstichig blauen Tönen anfärbt.

Die Innentemperatur soll dabei zwischen 0 und +3 DEG liegen. Danach rührt man 2 Stunden bei 0 DEG nach und gibt anschliessend 8,5 Teile einer 50%-igen wässrigen Natronlauge in ca. 15 Minuten so zu, dass die Innentemperatur +5 DEG nicht übersteigt.
Nach weiteren 15 Minuten tropft man 25 Teile Wasser zu, erhitzt auf 40 DEG bis 45 DEG , lässt leicht abkühlen und saugt den Farbstoff ab. Nach Trocknung im Vakuumtrockenschrank bei 60 DEG erhält man 5,2 Teile des Farbstoffs, der in Form der freien Säure der Formel (127) entspricht und der Polyamid in rotstichig blauen Tönen anfärbt.
