Abstract
The propelling pencil which carries an eraser (3) at the writing end, uses a ring-shaped eraser, the pencil lead (5) passing through its centre. At one side, near the writing tip, the casing (7) carries a slider (1) which when pushed downwards, carries forward a ring-shaped element (2) which supports the eraser. When the eraser projects beyond the lead, it can be used. The eraser support carries a spring (4) which retracts the eraser when the slider is released. ADVANTAGE - Easy use, a cap not being required.

DESCRIPTION
Les porte-mines ou crayons mécaniques traditionnels munis d'effaceur permettent d'écrire avec une extrémité et d'effacer avec l'autre. Souvent, il y a aussi un capuchon couvrant la gomme, qu'il faut enlever avant d'en faire usage. Associée à ces manipulations, il y a une certaine perte de temps et de concentration. L'objet de cette invention est d'éviter cela en plaçant la gomme de telle sorte que l'écriture et l'effacement se fassent avec la même extrémité, tout en supprimant le besoin d'un capuchon pour la gomme.
A cet effet, le porte-mine selon l'invention est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une gomme logée du meme côté que la pointe du porte-mine et un mécanisme coulissant activé par un doigt et permettant de déplacer la gomme en avant au-delà de la pointe pour effacer, un ressort poussant la gomme en position de repos derriére la pointe du porte-mine.
La figure unique du dessin annexé illustre, à titre d'exemple, une forme de réalisation d'un porte-mine à effaceur frontal. L'utilisation du porte-mine ou crayon pour écrire se fait d'une façon traditionnelle. Dans la position normale d'écriture, la gomme (3) est rentrée, laissant place à la mine. Pour effacer, le doigt fait coulisser le bouton (1) vers la pointe. La trajectoire de celui-ci est déterminée par une fente (6) dans le boîtier extérieur (7) du crayon. Le bouton coulissant (1) entraîne une pince cylindrique (2) et, avec elle, la gomme (3) vers la pointe, tout en compressant le ressort (4). La position pour effacer est atteinte aprés que l'extrémité de la gomme (3) a dépassé la limite de la mine logée dans une chambre tubulaire (5) du portemine.
Après utilisation de la gomme, en relâchant le bouton coulissant (1), le ressort (4) repousse automatiquement la pince cylindrique (2) avec la gomme (3) vers la position de repos. Ainsi, le bouton (1) est aussi repoussé vers sa position initiale.
DESCRIPTION
Traditional mechanical pencils or pencils with erasers allow writing with one end and erasing with the other. Often there is also a cap covering the gum, which must be removed before using it. Associated with these manipulations, there is a certain loss of time and concentration. The object of this invention is to avoid this by placing the eraser so that writing and erasing are done with the same end, while eliminating the need for a cap for the eraser.
To this end, the mechanical pencil according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises an eraser housed on the same side as the tip of the mechanical pencil and a sliding mechanism activated by a finger and allowing the eraser to be moved forward at the -beyond the tip to clear, a spring pushing the eraser in the rest position behind the tip of the mechanical pencil.
The single figure of the accompanying drawing illustrates, by way of example, an embodiment of a mechanical pencil with front eraser. The use of the mechanical pencil or pencil to write is done in a traditional way. In the normal writing position, the eraser (3) has returned, leaving room for the lead. To erase, the finger slides the button (1) towards the tip. The trajectory of the latter is determined by a slot (6) in the outer casing (7) of the pencil. The sliding button (1) drives a cylindrical clamp (2) and, with it, the rubber (3) towards the tip, while compressing the spring (4). The position for erasing is reached after the end of the eraser (3) has exceeded the limit of the lead housed in a tubular chamber (5) of the mechanical pencil.
After using the eraser, by releasing the sliding button (1), the spring (4) automatically pushes the cylindrical clamp (2) with the eraser (3) towards the rest position. Thus, the button (1) is also pushed back to its initial position.
