Abstract
The goal structure is formed by two wooden uprights (1, 2) and a crossbar (3) in the usual way. The rear face of each carries an array of electro-magnetic-wave optical spectrum transmitters and receivers, orientated so that the linking rays (a-f) of each pair criss-cross the goalmouth in a horizontal and diagonal pattern. When a ball is shot into the goal, it interrupts at least one horizontal and one diagonal beam, producing changed signal levels in an associated electronic assessment system, which records from these the point of entry. Further transmitter-receiver pairs may be arranged in depth so that shot speed is also obtained. All data is memorised, together with players' names, so that individual shooting performance and development can be continuously monitored on a display. ADVANTAGE - Use of electromagnetic wave techniques allows continuous monitoring of players' performance with award of marks accordingly.
Description
DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to an installation for evaluating the shooting of a ball in a frame, and can for example be used in fottball to give a score during a shot on goal.
The purpose of the present invention is to allow, as a game or training, to assign a quality score to a shot passing a ball through a frame and can essentially relate to football, handball, possibly rugby , etc.
The installation according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises, near said frame, a device for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves arranged to create a grid of electromagnetic rays inside or in the immediate vicinity of the frame , for the purpose of determining the entry point and / or the speed of the balloon in the frame, and by the fact that said transmission and reception device is connected to a device for controlling and processing the information received by the transmission and reception device.
By having, near the frame and preferably behind the frame, a device for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves so as to form a grid of the frame, it is easy to detect the entry point of the balloon into the frame and assign a score based on this entry point. A second quality criterion can be the speed of entry of the balloon which can also be detected by this device, for example by creating a second grid, or simply by using parallel beams at a given distance from the first.
Depending on the game chosen, one or other of these criteria may be abandoned or may be predominant.
Preferably, the device for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves is arranged behind the frame in the direction of entry of the balloon, along at least three sides of the frame. This transmission and reception device is linked to a control device for viewing the result and for controlling the control and processing device as well as a large display.
The invention will be described in more detail using the attached drawing.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a football goal with a device for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves.
Figure 2 is a back view of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a top view of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a block diagram of the entire installation.
The goal frame is formed by two uprights 1, 2 and a cross 3; behind these three elements 1, 2, 3 are fixed respectively the elements 4, 5, 6 of a device for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves. This device can be for example an optoelectronic transmitter / receiver, ensuring a grid of the input of the frame, for example as represented in FIG. 2, where only six beams have been represented a, b, c, d, e, f to as an example. Upon entering the goal, the ball interrupts at least two of these beams, a horizontal and an oblique, which makes it possible to locate its entry point.
The complete installation shown diagrammatically in FIG. 4 comprises the E / R transmitter / receiver connected to a control and information processing unit P, itself capable of being controlled by a display control module C, the processing unit
P being connected to a large display device D.
In a simplified execution, run or the other or both elements C and D can be omitted.
If the speed of movement of the ball is a quality criterion, a second grid, or simply beams in one of the directions (horizontal or oblique), offset from the first forward or backward, is necessary.
Unit P can be provided with a choice of software assigning a shot a quality score depending on the entry point and / or the speed of the ball, and it is also possible to store and cancel the data received and / or calculated by the 'P unit for one or all players in order to follow his or their evolution over a predetermined period.
