Description
DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a syringe provided with a self-retracting needle and with a self-locking piston in traction at the end of the stroke, as well as a self-locking piston sleeve when pushing the syringe and self-locking in traction during emptying the syringe, as well as a device for blocking the rotation of the plunger handle, preventing any further use of the syringe after injection and considerably reducing the risk of accidental injections.
The syringes currently used are dangerous because of the risk of contamination that they can represent in the event of accidental injections in the hospital environment, or in the event of re-use or loan in the environment of drug addicts, particularly in the transmission of seropositivity.
In addition, the danger of the transmission of seropositivity by accidental injections outside the environment of drug addicts lies in the fact that they often leave their syringe anywhere after use.
Thus, these abandoned syringes represent a particularly serious potential danger for young children who find them in public gardens and who consider them as toys.
In addition, syringes abandoned in garbage cans, public toilets or restaurants are also a danger for people responsible for roads or cleaning of places of toilet.
The fact that the needle is automatically retractable after injection considerably reduces the risk of accidental needle sticking, unless you deliberately break the syringe and prevent it from being reused. The invention as described in the claim fulfills these aims and will be better understood on reading an example with reference to the drawings.
Figure A shows the syringe in profile in general view.
Figure B shows the pusher, the piston handle and the piston.
Figures C, D, E show sections at different levels.
Figure F shows a section of the piston.
Figure G shows a plan view of the piston.
Figure H shows a detail of the needle retraction device.
When the piston 8 is pulled to fill the syringe, the anti-pulling edges 5 directed towards the pusher 1 pass through the notch 17 in the passage of the locking edges on the ring 21 of the locking cover 6.
During this time, the anti-pushing edges 3 directed towards the piston 8 can, during the pulling, pass the crown 21 of the locking cover 6 by simple pressure due to the elasticity of the material, but cannot iron the crown 21 in the opposite direction after the rebound of the edge material, being retained precisely by the ring 21 of the locking cover 6.
When the syringe is prepared for filling, the user can precisely dose the content thanks to the spaces between the anti-pull edges 5 and the anti-push edges 3. When the syringe is ready for injection, the user must have the pusher 1 and piston handle 2 a lateral rotation, so that the anti-pushing edges 3 are received in the notch of the edge passages 17, while, by said rotation, the anti-pulling edges 5 are locked by the crown 21 of the locking cover 6.
Thus the piston 8 and the piston handle 2 can be pushed but not removed by the fact that the anti-push edges 3 are unlocked by passing in the notch of the edge passages 17, while the anti-pull edges 5 are retained by the crown. 21 of the locking cover 6.
The lateral rotation lock of the piston handle 2 is ensured by the triangular locking tab 4 which is inserted in the locking chamber 16 on the crown 21 of the locking cover 6. The fact that this tongue is triangular allows the metering of the filling of the syringe without completely blocking the handle of the piston 2 before it is finally racing, while nevertheless preventing an unlocking of the lateral rotation and which would allow the anti-traction edges 5 to return to the traction position in the notch 17 of the passage of edges.
When the injection is about to end, the locking tabs It deviates laterally under the pressure of the piston 8 while penetrating into the chambers 9 of the locking tabs 1 1 located under the underside of the piston 8. The locking tabs 11, themselves comprising locking spouts 23 which, combined with the device of the anti-pulling edges 5 on the ring 21 of the locking cover 6, prevent any retraction of the piston handle 2 and of the piston 8.
FIG. B represents a general view of the pusher 1 with the piston handle 2 and the piston 8. The anti-pull edges 5 and the anti-push edges 3 as well as the lateral locking tab 4 of the piston handle 2 are distributed at a rate of approximately one third each around the circumference of the piston 2 handle.
FIG. C shows the piston 8 seen from below with the pusher 1, the chambers 9 receiving the locking tabs II and the sliding passage 15 for the internal cylinder 20 of the body.
Figure D shows a bird's eye view over the pusher l with the piston handle 2, the piston 8, the anti-pull edges 5 and the anti-push edges 3, the lateral rotation locking tab 4 as well as the passage 15 for sliding on the internal cylinder 20 of the body.
FIG. E represents the locking cover 6 seen from above, with the locking crown 21, the notch for passage of the edges 17 and the chamber 16 of the lateral rotation locking tab 4.
FIG. F shows in detail the piston 8, with a section of the handle of the piston 2 and the locking belt 7, the passage 15 for sliding the internal cylinder 20 of the body and the chambers 9 for the locking tabs 1.
Figure G shows from below the piston 8 with the chambers 9 for the locking lugs 11 and the passage 15 for sliding the internal cylinder 20 of the body.
Figure H shows a detail of the needle retraction device 14 with the yoke 19 and the thrust spring 13 held inside the internal cylinder 20 of the body. The locking tabs 11 with the locking spouts 23 are pressed against the wall of the internal cylinder 20 of the body by elasticity of the material, thus ensuring sealing.
When the locking tabs move away, the sealing is ensured by the flexible sealing tabs 22 which fold down by elasticity of the material. The contents are evacuated and emptied by the passageways 18 around the periphery of the wall of the internal cylinder 20 of the body and of the cylinder head 19.
The present invention is not limited to the particular forms of the embodiment described here. For example, the internal cylinder 20 of the body may very well be eccentric inside the syringe, or pressed against the wall of the external cylinder 24 of the body, inside or outside of the latter.
