BESCHREIBUNG

Entformung erfolgt grundsätzlich in drei verschiedenen Stufen.
DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to an injection molding tool for producing a closure cap according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a closure cap produced in this tool according to the preamble of claim 6.
Such caps with a guarantee band that can be snapped into the bottle mouth to ensure tamper evidence are increasingly being used today instead of the guarantee bands that can be shrink-wrapped under the influence of heat. This saves one operation when closing the bottle mouths, since the inward-facing bead on the guarantee band snaps into place under a projection on the container mouth when it is first put in place, without the guarantee band being damaged in the process. When the screw cap is unscrewed for the first time, the connecting webs between the guarantee tape and the screw cap tear, so that opening is indicated for the first time.
In contrast to the shrink-fit guarantee bands, the manufacture of the snap-in guarantee bands is somewhat more difficult because the inward-facing bead on the guarantee band makes it difficult to demould. When the core part is pulled back, this inward-pointing bead must expand outwards, with radial and axial force components acting on the guarantee band. There is a risk that the guarantee tape will be damaged as soon as it is removed from the mold. In order to prevent such damage to the support sleeve of the injection molding tool or to the upper part of the guarantee band, it is already known to provide a support shoulder which forms an annular surface arranged transversely to the central axis.
Such a tool and a closure cap produced in this tool are described, for example, in GB-A-2 022 063 Plastivit SA or in US-A-4 526282 Dutt et al. This support shoulder forms a second abutment for the screw cap when the core part is removed from the mold, the support sleeve being supported not only on the lower edge of the screw cap but also on the support shoulder of the guarantee band, so that in particular the connecting webs between the guarantee band and the closure cap are relieved. After the core part has been removed from the mold, the sealing cap is only held by the support sleeve on the guarantee band. The sealing cap must now be pushed out of this support sleeve.
A disadvantage of the known tool configurations is that when the closure cap is ejected from the support sleeve, the guarantee band is strongly compressed. This pushing out is possible in itself because the guarantee band tapers towards the top in cross section, so that it can slide out of the corresponding negative contour of the support sleeve. As soon as the guarantee band reaches the upper edge of the support sleeve with its horizontally lying support shoulder, the tensioned guarantee band expands abruptly, the relatively sharp-edged edge of the support sleeve notching into the guarantee band. This is all the more so that the plastic material has not yet completely cooled when the cap is ejected from the tool and has therefore not yet reached its final hardness.
This notch causes an increased load on the tear-off webs, since the ejector does not attack the guarantee band, but the cap base. As a result, the webs can tear during ejection, which nullifies the advantage originally achieved when the core part was removed from the mold, since the danger to the tear-off webs is only shifted from one mold removal step to a next mold removal step.
It should also be taken into account that the sudden expansion of the guarantee band does not take place over the entire circumference at the same time, but, due to small tolerance fluctuations in length, on one side. As a result, individual webs are loaded more than others when ejected. Given the high number of shots fired on the injection molding tools today and the resulting high demolding speeds, relatively small but sudden movements are also defective.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide an injection molding tool and a closure cap of the type mentioned at the outset, it being possible for the closure cap to be ejected from the tool even with high numbers of rounds without endangering the guarantee band. This object is achieved according to the invention by an injection molding tool which has the features in claim 1, the features in accordance with claim 6 being detectable on the closure cap produced in this way.
Since the support shoulder tapers towards the lower edge of the guarantee band, there is no sudden expansion when ejected from the support sleeve. Rather, the expansion takes place gradually and in a controlled movement, the outer wall of the guarantee band always remaining in sliding contact with the support sleeve. It is therefore no longer possible to knock in notches or even get the guarantee tape caught in the support sleeve.
When the moldings are closed, the wall section of the support shoulder advantageously continues in a wall section on the release sleeve that also tapers towards the lower edge. These wall sections inclined to the central axis have the advantage that the axial force required for demolding the core part is partially divided into a force component directed radially towards the center. This obviously also results in a relief of the guarantee band from axially acting forces.
The wall parts tapering towards the lower edge on the support sleeve and on the release sleeve are advantageously conical in cross section. This ensures that the guarantee band slides out of the support sleeve particularly easily. In individual cases, however, these wall sections can also be slightly concave or convex.
The cone angle between the wall parts and the central axis is preferably less than 450. It can be seen that the extent of the guarantee band when ejected is more gentle, the more acute the angle to the central axis. On the other hand, the angle must also be selected in such a way that the original function of the support shoulder is still preserved, i. H. that there is still a force component in the axial direction to protect the tear-off webs when the core part is removed from the mold. Good results were achieved, for example, with a cone angle between the wall section and the central axis of 300.
Further advantages result from the claims and from the following description, in which an exemplary embodiment is described and shown in the drawings. Show it:

Fig. 7, the injection mold when ejecting, and
8-10 depict the relative position of the support sleeve and guarantee when ejected in three different stages.
As shown in Fig. 1, the cap 1 consists essentially of a cap base 5 and an approximately cylindrical side wall 6, on which an internal thread 2 is arranged.
At the lower edge 7 of the closure cap, a guarantee band 8 is arranged in one piece via tear-off webs 13. This guarantee band consists essentially of an upper part 10 and a lower part 9 in cross section. The lower part 9 has a substantially smaller diameter than the upper part 10 and is provided with at least one inwardly directed bead 11. This bead 11 serves as a retaining element and engages under the container bead 15 at the container mouth 3 when the closure cap is put on for the first time.
As can be seen in particular from FIG. 2, for example three beads 11 can be distributed uniformly over the entire circumference. The diameter on the inner wall 18 of the guarantee band on the lower part 9 is preferably smaller than the largest outside diameter on the container bead 15. This forms a latching edge 17 which has a certain retention effect even without the beads 11. The top 16 of the beads 11 is chamfered to allow the core part to be withdrawn during demolding. The underside 19 of the beads 11 is also beveled so that the beads can slide over the container bead 15. A bevel 20 extends over the entire circumference of the lower edge of the guarantee band and centers the guarantee band when the closure cap is first put on.
The tapering wall section 12 on the outer wall of the guarantee band runs conically from the upper part 10 to the lower part 9. Of course, it would also be conceivable that only individual tapering wall sections 12 are arranged over the entire circumference. This would enable the effect described at the outset the gentle expansion during demoulding. The beads 11 can also have a different configuration or can be combined with other retaining elements. It would also be conceivable to have a bead that extends approximately over the entire scope of the guarantee band.
The injection molding tool is described in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4. The negative mold for the closure cap 1 is formed from various molded parts which can be opened or closed in the axial direction. With such tools, it is known that the highest number of shots can be achieved, with several cavities being arranged on a single tool, which are filled and demolded at the same time. A rotationally symmetrical support sleeve 23 is mounted in an axially movable manner in a stationary tool plate 25.
This support sleeve 23 forms the outer contour of the upper part 10 of the guarantee band and the tear-off webs 13. The rotationally symmetrical release sleeve 24 is also axially displaceably mounted within the support sleeve 23. The release sleeve 24 forms the outer contour of the lower part 9 of the guarantee tape. The inner contour of the closure cap 1 and the guarantee band 8 is formed by the core part 22, which in turn is axially displaceably mounted in the release sleeve 24. The outer contour of the closure cap 1 is formed by the outer molded part 21, which rests on the tool plate 25 or partially on the support sleeve 23. On the outer molding 21 is also
Injection opening 31 is arranged, through which the liquid plastic material is injected into the cavity.
The ejector 26 is mounted in the center of the core part 22 and also forms part of the inner wall of the cap base with its upper mushroom-shaped part. The ejector 26 is also axially displaceable relative to the core part 22.
As can be seen particularly well from FIG. 4, this tapers
Guarantee band in cross-section upwards against the lower one
Edge of the closure cap 1. The support shoulder 27 is designed as a wall portion tapering downwards, which is immediately in a wall portion 28 which also tapers at the
Cut-off sleeve 24 continues. The boundary surfaces 30 between the support sleeve 23 and the release sleeve 24 open into one
Plane into the sloping wall parts 27 and 28, which lies directly above the negative contour 29, which forms the inward bead on the guarantee band. As will be shown below, the lower part can
9 of the guarantee band with the beads 11 expand outwards without the fact that the core part 22 is removed from the mold
Guarantee tape is damaged.
The limitation surfaces are preferably arranged such that the effective length of the support shoulder 27 in cross section is approximately a quarter and the tapering wall section 28 on the release sleeve 24 is approximately three
Makes up a quarter of the entire tapered wall section.
The wall sections above and below the tapered wall sections 27 and 28 are preferably formed out cylindrically. The angle a between the tapered wall parts 27 and 28 and the central axis is approximately 300 in the exemplary embodiment. The distance a between the start of the support shoulder 27 and the boundary surfaces 30 is only approximately Äo mm. However, this support shoulder is sufficient to absorb axially acting forces in the axial direction when the core part 22 is removed, the tear-off webs 13 being relieved.
The demolding process after injecting and cooling the plastic mass is shown in FIGS. 5 to 7. The
Demolding takes place in three different stages.
As shown in FIG. 7, the outer molded part 21 is first of the
Tool plate 25 lifted so that the entire outer contour of the cap 1 is free. At the same time, the release sleeve 24 is displaced relative to the support sleeve 23, so that the lower part 9 of the guarantee band 8 is exposed on the outside. As shown, this displacement can take place by withdrawing the release sleeve 24 with the support sleeve 23 stationary. Alternatively, the support sleeve 23 and the core part 22 can be moved out relative to the tool plate.
The release of the mentioned outer contours is a prerequisite for the demolding of the core part 22 or the inner contour of the closure cap 1 and the guarantee band 8.
This inner contour has undercuts on the threads and on the beads 11, which allow demolding only if flexible evasion to the outside is possible. As shown in FIG. 6, the support sleeve 23 is now moved upward relative to the tool plate 25 in a second demolding step. The stationary core part 22 is removed from the mold and the threads or the beads snap out of the negative contours that form them. The to demold the
Core part 22 required axial forces are transmitted through the support sleeve 23 on the lower edge 7 of the closure cap 1 and 1 and on the support shoulder 27. This demolding step is supported by the ejector 26, which moves uniformly with the support sleeve 23.
When the end position of the support sleeve 23 is reached, the closure cap 1 is practically only on the upper part of the guarantee band by the
Support sleeve 23 held.
As shown in Fig. 7, the ejector 26 is now moved upward relative to the support sleeve 23, so that the
Guarantee tape also snaps out of the support sleeve 23 and the cap 1 is ejected.
This last demolding process is shown in more detail in three sequences with reference to FIGS. 8 to 10. So that
Guarantee tape can be detached from the support sleeve 23, it must obviously be pressed together concentrically. This is facilitated by the wedge-shaped cross-sectional configuration in the upper part with the wedge tip pointing upwards. 8 shows the guarantee tape at the point in time at which its outer wall in the upper part has taken on the smallest diameter. In this state, the guarantee band is under tension, with radial forces acting in the direction of the arrow Y occurring.
As the cap 1 is ejected further, the tapered wall portion 12 reaches the top edge 32 of the support sleeve 23 (Fig. 9). The guarantee band expands radially again, while the tapering wall section 12 slides along the upper edge 32. A sudden radial relaxation does not take place, so that the upper edge 32 cannot notch into the guarantee band. As described at the beginning, an unnecessary additional load on the tear-off webs 13 can be avoided in this way.
As soon as the lower part 9 of the guarantee band has reached the upper edge 32, the guarantee band is relaxed radially and can be safely ejected even when it comes into contact with the support sleeve (FIG. 10).
Of course, the invention is not limited to the illustrated embodiment. In particular, the relative movement of the individual molded parts with respect to one another can also take place differently, without thereby departing from the inventive concept.
To form certain inner seals, it would also be conceivable to form the core part 22 in two or more parts.
