Abstract
The plastic insulating rider has one or more lodgments to grip the wire or strip of the electric fence. The lock may be entrained in rotation by an independent device, such as key or screw-eye, or by a lever which is part of it. It may be mounted in an aperture in a support, the wire grip being due to the elastic properties and the dimensions. A fixing screw-eye or hook may be provided and this may be fixed by moulding, or by soldering. A ratchet-type device (4,6) with an anti-twin spur (6) may pass between the support shanks (7) to hold the wire and position it, being turned by an hex key. USE - Attaching electric fence wire to post at required tension.
Description
DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a latch insulator which, while ensuring the insulation of the electrified fence wires with respect to their support stakes, allows by a latch system to ensure the tension of the wire from one stake to another. This tension is carried out by the installer.
The use of this insulator makes it possible to tension the electrified fence wire stake after stake without doing this loops or
any other obstacle which adversely affects the quality of the thread (bending, unfolding,
twist).
The accompanying drawing (Figures 1, 2, 3) illustrates a preferred form of
realization of the insulator object of the invention.
The user first fixes the support (1) on the stake by the in
end of the wood screw (2) if the stake is made of wood or via the metal screw (3) for any fixing using a
metric screw system. The fixing screws (2) or (3) are made integral with the plastic support by forced mounting, overmolding or welding.
The screw head (2) or (3) can protrude from the plastic support (1) so that, when using a wood screw, the user can, by striking this protruding part, initiate a forward -hole which will facilitate screwing.
After fixing the support in the stake using the screw, the user slides the lock into the open part of the support (5). The non-return lug (6) passes through the slot in the support (7). It is then enough to tension the wire, to guide it between the lugs (8) of the support, to position it in one of the passages of the lock then to turn by means of a key which is housed in an adequate form of the lock for immobilize the wire in the insulating support.
The blocking by pinching of the wire being due to the dimension of the cumulative wire + lock, greater than that of the interior housing of the support and to the elastic deformation of the support and the lock.
The use of a metal lock of identical shape to that of the plastic lock allows, by the use of two passages of the metal lock, to make the connection of two wires.
The support is also designed for the use of conductive tapes. The lock (4) is then replaced by a plastic jumper (10) which surrounds the strip. The positioning in translation and vertical of this assembly is done by the shoulders (11) located on the rider. The jumper + ribbon dimension, greater than that of the passage (8) between the legs of the support, causes these legs to pinch the jumper + ribbon assembly by elasticity and thus ensure the tension given to the ribbon by the installer, while isolating the support pole tape.
The installation inside the jumper of two ends of ribbons, separated by a metal plate, makes it possible to make the electrical connection of two ribbons under good conditions of conductivity.
The non-threaded end of the screw (screw head) can have a loop shape, like that shown in the drawing in (2) and (3) in the screw version inserted into the support by driving out.
It is also possible to provide other forms of screw head, for example a form which, in the case of insertion of the screw into the support by overmolding (12) or by welding (13), allows a reinforcement of the housing ( 5) of the support intended to receive the lock (Figures 4 and 5).
The end of the screw, implantable in the stake, which is generally threaded, can also be smooth in the case where the user wishes to directly weld the insulator on a metal stake.
