BESCHREIBUNG
Fig. 1 ein Blockschaltbild einer Auswertung zum Bestimmen von Geschützstandorten,
Fig. 4 eine Vereinfachung der Modifizierung gemäss Fig. 3.
DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a device for determining gun locations of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.
In artillery reconnaissance, acoustically located guns are e.g. entered in a situation map of a battle area to get an overview of the situation and information about enemy positions.
For this purpose, a cross consisting of four neighboring microphones is deployed at least two measuring sites in the area, one axis of which provides a reference direction. The transit time between received signals from diametrically opposed microphones are determined and provide bearing angles between the reference direction and the direction of sound incidence of the muzzle bang. If you enter these DF angles at the locations of the measuring locations on the map, you get the gun locations.
From German patent application P 3116586.9 it is known to continuously convert received signals from the microphones of a cross into a complex frequency spectrum within a given time interval in order to determine the transit time. The complex frequency spectra of the received signals from diametrically opposed microphones are conjugately multiplied in a complex manner and form a complex cross spectrum. The cross spectrum is again in the so-called
Back-transformed and the amount of the back-transformed is formed. The main maximum of the amount is determined and its temporal position within the time interval. If the gun is exactly perpendicular to the axis connecting the two microphones, the two microphones receive the muzzle blast at the same time, i.e.
the transit time between the two received signals is zero. The main maximum then appears in the middle of the time interval. The center of the time interval is thus the zero point for the runtime specification. A main maximum to the right of the zero point indicates a positive runtime, e.g. the right microphone received the muzzle bang first, a main maximum to the left of the zero point indicates a negative transit time, then the left microphone received the muzzle bang first.
The invention has for its object the device according to the above. To improve the patent application in such a way that the allocation and evaluation of the sound events received at the measuring locations is still guaranteed regardless of weather influences, but the runtime can be determined more easily with correlative processing of the received signals.
This object is achieved according to the invention in a device of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1 by the features in the characterizing part of claim 1.
The conjugate complex multiplication of the complex frequency spectra of the received signals effects a correlative processing of the received signals. This eliminates all the problems associated with the evaluation of sound events according to conventional methods, in particular the finding and the time information regarding homologous points in sound events of one and the same sound source, since here the entire time course of the muzzle bang, which is received on diametrically opposed microphones, is compared with each other. The conjugate complex multiplication of the two complex frequency spectra also includes a phase difference, which eliminates an initial phase, which is caused by the arbitrary temporal position of the muzzle bang within the time interval.
This already in the above The advantages shown in the patent application are also retained in the signal processing described in claim 1, but the transit time is not determined by a maximum determination of the amount of the back-transformed, but by a much simpler determination of the zero crossing. To achieve such a simplification, the cross spectrum is multiplied by a frequency function.
The following frequency functions, which have a steep zero crossing or a discontinuity at zero in the time domain, are suitable for product formation, for example:
The function
1 h (t) = nt whose transform is the Hilbert transformer -j. sgn (o) is the time derivative of the gap function, the transform of which causes a frequency-limited multiplication by jo angular frequency), or a modified e-function (t) sgn (t) sgn (t) (T: a the course of the back-transformed cross spectrum adjustment factor to be adjusted).
The product formation of the cross spectrum with one of these frequency functions produces, after the back transformation of the product in the time domain, a function curve which has a zero crossing where the back transformed cross spectrum or its magnitude has a relative maximum.
The inverse transform of the cross spectrum is real and indicates the cross correlation function of the two received signals. The inverse transform of the product is also available as a real part and has a steep zero crossing where the main maximum of the cross-correlation function lies.
The advantage of the device according to the invention is that a search time range is specified from the main maximum of the cross-correlation function, where the searched runtime must be, and the determination of the position in time of a zero crossing of the back-transformed product in the search time range provides the exact time for the runtime specification. By means of the device according to the invention, the part of the cross-correlation function of interest around the main maximum is converted into a zero-crossing function and the maximum determination is converted into a zero-crossing determination. The particular advantage lies in the fact that a zero crossing determination is computationally much easier to implement than a maximum interpolation with the aim of specifying the exact position of the main maximum.
It is particularly expedient to use the function h (t) = 1 s t for the product formation with the cross spectrum, which has a hyperbolic shape in the time domain and has a point of discontinuity at zero. If you transform this time function into the frequency domain, you get the Hilbert transformer -j. sgn (o) as a frequency function. This frequency function is multiplied by the cross spectrum and, after inverse transformation into the time domain, a function is obtained which has a steep zero crossing where the inverse transform of the cross spectrum has its main maximum. The result is the Hilbert transform of the cross-correlation function of the received signals.
The Hilbert transformer is particularly suitable for this calculation process because it evaluates the values in the area of the main maximum of the correlation function in such a way that a particularly steep zero crossing is created as a result.
According to a development of the device according to the invention according to claim 2, the product of frequency function and cross spectrum is multiplied by j, added to the cross spectrum and the sum is transformed back. The inverse transform is complex, its real part is equal to the cross-correlation function of the two received signals and its imaginary part has a steep zero crossing where its real part has its main maximum. Here, too, the exact position of the zero crossing in the imaginary part of the reverse transform is determined again in the time range of the main maximum. The advantage is that only a single complex inverse transformation needs to be carried out, the real and imaginary part of which already provide the desired result.
The calculation rules when using the Hilbert transformer are significantly simplified according to an advantageous further development of the device according to the invention, in that for multiplying the cross spectrum by the Hilbert transformer multiplied by j and the subsequent summation of the cross spectrum and the product multiplied by j, all frequency components of the real part and imaginary part of the Cross spectrum for frequencies less than or equal to zero can be set to zero. The back-transformed of this now asymmetrical cross-spectrum provides the cross-correlation function as the real part and its Hilbert transform as the imaginary part. All frequency components of the cross spectrum can also be set to zero for frequencies less than or equal to zero.
The result differs from that previously described only in that the Hilbert transform appears reversed, which is irrelevant for the zero crossing determination.
Through this signal processing according to claim 3, above-mentioned additional arithmetic operations are created, but only by forming the cross spectrum and zeroing some parts of it and subsequent complex inverse transformation, a device is created in which the determination of the zero crossing of a function is the correct sign of the runtime of a muzzle bang between delivers two microphones of a cross at the measurement location.
Nowadays, digital signal processing of the received signals is usually preferred instead of analog.
For this purpose, the received signals are sampled, digitized in accordance with the Shannon theorem, and their digitized sampled values are subjected to a Fast Fourier transformation within the time interval to form the complex frequency spectrum. The cross-correlation function of the received signals and the reverse transformation of the product of the cross spectrum and frequency function are then also available in the form of digital samples. According to an advantageous development of the device according to the invention, the largest sample value of the cross-correlation function is determined and sample values of the inverse transforms of the product are sought at the same point in the time interval. The search time range is defined by a predeterminable number of samples.
This number of samples of the inverse transforms of the product creates, for example, a straight line according to known regression methods, the intersection of which with the time axis indicates the temporal position of the zero crossing and thus the correct running time. The particular advantage of this device is that it is not necessary to simulate a continuous time course for the back-transformed by interpolation of all the sample values in order to determine the search time range from the cross-correlation function and the zero crossing of the back-transform of the product within the search time range, as well as approximation methods for a straight line and the determination of the intersection between the straight line and the time axis can be implemented quickly and easily using conventional programs in computer technology.
A further simplification is given by the device according to claim 5, in which the zero crossing is determined by two samples of unequal sign in the search time range.
The invention is described in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing. Show it:
1 is a block diagram of an evaluation for determining gun locations,
2 shows a basic course of a cross correlation function and a zero crossing function,
3 shows a modification within the block diagram according to FIGS. 1 and
4 shows a simplification of the modification according to FIG. 3.
There are crosses with four microphones each at several measuring sites in the area. A bearing angle to the gun locations is determined from each measurement location by evaluating the transit time between diametrically opposed microphones. 1 shows a block diagram for an evaluation circuit as it can be assigned to each cross.
Received signals from diametrically opposed microphones 20, 22 and 21, 23 of the cross 10 are evaluated in processing channels I and II of the same structure.
The microphones 20 and 22 are connected via analog / digital converters 24, 25 and memories 26, 27 to computing circuits 28, 29 for calculating a complex frequency spectrum. Digitized received signals that were received by the microphone 20 within a predeterminable time interval are stored in the memory 26 and are converted, for example, into a complex frequency spectrum according to the Fast Fourier transform algorithm. The same signal processing is carried out for received signals from the microphone 22. The complex frequency spectra of the received signals of the microphones 20 and 22 are multiplied in a conjugate complex in a multiplier circuit 30.
The result of the conjugate complex multiplication is a cross spectrum, the back-transformation of which in the time domain is equal to the cross correlation function of the received signals of the diametrically opposed microphones 20, 22. The multiplier circuit 30 is followed by a computing stage 31 for forming the reverse transform of the cross spectrum.
The reverse transform has only a real part, since the two received signals are real. A maximum detector is connected downstream of the computing stage 31 as the evaluation circuit 32, in which a search time range T1 is determined, within which the main maximum lies.
The upper diagram in FIG. 2 shows the course of the cross-correlation function at the output of the computing stage 31.
Within the considered time interval 2 To, the main maximum is present at a point in time r, which, calculated from the beginning of the time interval 2T0, indicates the positive running time Tl = T-To with correct sign. The middle of the time interval at time T = To indicates the running time ti = O, negative times are obtained for times T <To. The search time range TI search characterizes the time range AT within which the main maximum lies and is Tal search = Tl + T = T + ATTO.
The real part and the imaginary part of the cross spectrum at the output of the multiplier circuit 30 are fed to a product circuit 300, in which the product of the cross spectrum and a frequency function X (j <o) is formed, where w is the angular frequency. This frequency function X (jxo) is, for example, a function which is odd in the time domain and has a point of discontinuity at zero, and its amount drops monotonically for positive and negative time values. The function h (t) = 1 n. T s t has these properties. The associated frequency function X (j0)) 0-.
z t is the Hilbert transformer -j sgn (X). The product circuit 300 is followed by a computing stage 310 for forming the reverse transform of the product at the output of the product circuit 300. This back-transformed, which in turn also has only a real part, is the Hilbert transformed of the cross-correlation function at the output of the computing stage 31. The computing stage 310 is followed by a zero-crossing detector 320, in which the zero-crossing of the Hilbert transform is determined in the search time range tl search of the main maximum of the cross-correlation function. The position of the zero crossing indicates the correct running time Tl = T-TO. The lower diagram in Fig. 2 shows the Hilbert transform of the cross-correlation function.
In the second processing channel II, received signals from the diametrically opposed microphones 21, 23 are processed to determine a transit time T2. The ratio of the transit times T1 to T2 and the arc tangent T1 is shown in a bearing angle calculator 33
T2 calculated quadrant-true, which is equal to the bearing angle <p.
This bearing angle (p is evaluated in a control center to determine the gun locations.
FIG. 3 shows a modification for the block diagram according to FIG. 1, in which the cross-correlation function and the back-transformed product of the cross spectrum and frequency function are obtained by a single complex transformation in the time domain. The outputs of the multiplication circuit 30 are here fed to a summing circuit 330 on the one hand and to a multiplication circuit 340 on the other hand. The cross spectrum at the outputs of the multiplication circuit 30 is in the multiplication circuit 340 with the Hilbert transformer -j j expanded by multiplication with j to a real function. sgn (a>) = + sgn (<o) multiplied.
This product is added to the cross spectrum in the adder circuit 330, the sum is converted in a downstream arithmetic stage 31 to form the back-transformed into a complex time function. At the output of the arithmetic stage 31, the cross-correlation function is present as a real part and its Hilbert transform as an imaginary part. The evaluation stage 31 is followed by the evaluation circuit 32 and the zero crossing detector 320 for the real part and imaginary part.
The zero crossing detector 320 supplies the correct running time ti or Tz for the bearing angle computer 33.
FIG. 4 shows a further modification of the signal processing according to FIG. 3, in which a suppression circuit 350 is used instead of the multiplication circuit 340 and the summing circuit 330. To generate the product multiplied by j from the cross spectrum and Hilbert transformer and subsequent summation with the cross spectrum, the suppression circuit 350 is used, in which the real part Re Kund the imaginary part Im K of the cross spectrum are evaluated such that all frequency components for frequencies greater than or equal to zero are set to zero . Only the frequency components of the cross spectrum for frequencies less than zero are then present at the output of the suppression circuit 350.
In the downstream computing stage 31 the reverse transform is formed, the real part of which indicates the cross-correlation function and the imaginary part of which indicates the Hilbert transform of the cross-correlation function. In the downstream evaluation circuit 32, the search time range ti search or T2 search is determined from the cross-correlation function and the transit time i or v is determined from the Hilbert-transformed zero crossing detector 320.
A suppression circuit for frequency components of the cross spectrum, which are in the negative frequency range, can also be used, the imaginary part of the back-transformed is the Hilbert-transformed one with the opposite sign and has a zero crossing with opposite slope in the area of the main maximum of the cross-correlation function.
The entire signal processing of the received signals is based on samples of the received signals. Samples of the cross-correlation function and its Hilbert transform are also present at the output of the arithmetic stage 31 for forming the reverse transform. In the evaluation circuit 32, the largest of all samples is selected to determine the main maximum and its position is determined within the time interval. In the zero crossing detector 320, at least two samples of the Hilbert transform of the cross-correlation function with a different sign are evaluated at the same point in the time interval by a straight line being laid through these samples. The intersection of this straight line with the time axis is calculated, it gives the running time TI or it TI or
