Fig. 2 einen Schnitt A - A durch die Vorrichtung nach Fig. 1
2 m3/h Gas (Luft) Kugeldurchmesser 0,35 m, Kanalbreite 7 cm Wehrhöhe 3 cm Abstand Kanalunterseite - Kugelachse (horizontal) 10 cm.

The invention relates to a device according to the preamble of claim 1.
Such devices are known per se. However, they have disadvantages in terms of hydrodynamics. The separator described in The Industrial Chemist, 1959, p. 372 has a tangentially opening inlet. The mixture jet is not guided inside the container, i.e. it flows in the form of a free jet along the container wall. As a result of the influence of quality, the jet descends and causes intensive gas mixing (redispersion) into the liquid when it enters the liquid vortex. So that this separator can fulfill its separation task, the actual separation process must take place in the vortex.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a device which has a defined hydrodynamics, so that a large part of the actual phase separation takes place outside the fluid vortex.
This object is achieved by the features listed in the characterizing part of claim 1.
The mixture flowing into the container separates into its individual phases in the channel due to the acting centrifugal field. Since the channel is designed as an overflow weir, the heavier phase flows downwards into the automatically developing vortex without the redispersion, with the phase flowing upwards.
Preferred embodiments are defined in dependent claims 2 to 8.
Two embodiments of the device according to the invention are described below with reference to the figures:
1 shows a separating device in section
FIG. 2 shows a section A - A through the device according to FIG. 1
Fig. 3 shows a separator with an integrated activated carbon filter in section.
All figures are drawn in a purely schematic form.
The spherical container is formed from two half-shells 1 and 2. These half-shells are screwed together by means of a flange connection 7. A channel 3 with an inwardly inclined overflow weir 3 'is arranged in the upper half-shell 1. A level controller 6 with a float 4 controls the solenoid valve arranged in the outlet line 5.
As FIG. 2 shows, the channel extends over an angle of approximately 2250. The mixture inlet RE is built tangentially into the container and opens directly above the beginning of the channel.
A drain RA is also installed tangentially in the lower area of the tank. This outlet can also open radially into the container.
It is essential that the drain RA is placed in the container so that the vortex tip cannot get into the drain RA.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3, a bag 10 made of filter cloth or metal or. Plastic fabric arranged in a sealing connection with the channel 3 or a separate support element (the support element is not shown).
The sack is filled to a level below the vertebral tip W. Activated carbon can be used as filler or filter material. A tubular element 11 is also arranged in the interior of the sack. This element forms a reservoir 12 'for the activated carbon with the wall area of the sack lying on top. It is useful to impermeable the upper wall area of the sack, for. B.
plasticized to train.
The container is conveniently made of plastic or steel. It can be formed in one piece with the channel as well as other internals (e.g. support elements for the filter element). It is also possible to arrange the separating flange 7 above the position shown, i. H. the container dividing line can also run above the channel. However, it is crucial that the bottom of the container is as smooth as possible. Even small grooves can adversely affect the vortex flow Dimensioning example: Separator output: 15 m3 / h liquid (water)
2 m3 / h gas (air) ball diameter 0.35 m, channel width 7 cm weir height 3 cm distance channel bottom - ball axis (horizontal) 10 cm.
